Here is our review of the Contemporary Resort Tower Club Level 1 bedroom suite Bay Lake View. Sorry in advance but this is a long review.
When we walked into the lobby there was a long line for check in. We had done online check in but because you need access to the Tower floor we could not go in without checking in at the main lobby since our magicbands didn’t work. We waited about 15 minutes on line before someone came to ask if we needed help since the line wasn’t moving. They escorted us to someone else at the front desk and he checked us in. He had someone escort us upstairs and introduced us to the CM Shante at the desk. Our room wasn’t ready so we relaxed in the lounge. Shante got us welcome drinks. She had Shirley Temples for the kids and Champagne for those over 21.
That was a lovely touch. We got the room ready text at 1pm – room 4907. When we got to the door 3 of 6 of our magicbands didn’t work. Only 3 of our kids worked. We had to go back to the CM Shante to fix the magicbands (I have to say this was definitely a problem throughout our stay since we changed hotels 3 times).
Now to the room – wow! It was a 1 bedroom suite with 2 full bathrooms. The room was so impressive. We are a family of 6 and love when we can get a room to fit all of us but this was anything beyond our expectations.
When you walk into the suite there is a full bathroom to the left with a stall shower and a separate area for the toilet. There are closets on either side of the main door to the suite. Each closet had a light that went on when you opened the door.
Then you enter into the living which had a pull out couch that had to be a king size bed. We had never seen a king sized pull out couch before. (We measured it). Two of our kids slept on it and said it was so comfortable. (I didn't get a good picture of the couch but I cut one from a video I took. My kids were sleeping in it.) There were two chairs in the living room with a big TV.
The kitchen area of the room had a large round table with 5 chairs. There was a desk and chair in that room as well. In the kitchen area there is a full sized refrigerator with an ice maker. That was the gem – we used that ice a lot. The room also had a Keurig machine, sink and microwave.
The main bedroom had 2 queen beds with a very long closet. There was a desk and chair in the room. The bathroom was big with a tub/shower and a separate room for the toilet. On a side note I have to say that we were shocked to see that neither toilet in the suite had a lid for it. We teach our kids to always close the lid before flushing for sanitary reasons yet these toilets had no lids. It was definitely strange to us. I just felt that the room couldn’t be that clean without a lid.
The bedroom had a separate entrance from the hall. There was a porch the size of the whole suite – from the master bedroom to the living room. It was huge. On one side of the porch there was a round table with 4 chairs and the other side had 2 lounge chairs that we used often. How relaxing it was to wake up and lounge out there with a cup of coffee. As much as we love a MK view – we love the Bay view more than the MK view. It was so relaxing.
The 1 bedroom suite was truly a blessing. We loved everything about the room and the service that came with it. We loved staying on the Atrium level but the level of service on the Tower level was above and beyond any service we had on the Atrium level. I know there are less guests on the Tower level so it easier to get a higher level of service but it just made the whole stay unbelievable. The housekeeping was wonderful. Zaida was so sweet and helped us with whatever we needed. I guess she didn’t expect us to get to the room as early as we did and while we first got there she knocked on the door and then introduced herself and dropped off some supplies and said she had to finish stocking. That is service.
Our stay at the CR Tower level was truly magical. On our second night when we got back to the room there was a welcome platter of desserts with some chocolates made into a monorail. That was a wonderful surprise. With all the other wonderful services I do wish they would change the way you enter. I wish either someone was waiting to escort us up as it was when we checked into the AKL CL prior on this trip or that we could go straight up using our magicband from online check in. We couldn’t get that straight. The CM in the lobby said our magicbands would work yet the CM on the Tower floor said your magicbands will not work until your room is ready. We loved the CR Tower CL 1 bedroom suite and the service that came with it. We will be back. Thanks for reading and I will review the lounge food in a separate post!
