Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

The pool has never appealed to us either, which is why I'm considering trying the CR this December for a short weekend trip to take my niece to the Christmas party. Even with the current discount, the nightly rates are pretty steep, but I'm trying to justify them by only being there a few nights mainly for the Christmas party. I'm hoping AP discounts come out soon and include the CR and are available for the dates we're thinking of going, although I'm not getting my hopes up as availability seems to be pretty slim under the current discount :rolleyes1.

The discounts for CR this summer weren't great either. That is so sweet to bring your niece for Christmas - that is on my bucket list - to go for Christmas.

SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL! What a fabulous surprise. Thanks so much for sharing the pics.

LOVE it!!!
I'm stealing "SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL!"

My summer school students have been compiling a list of my stupid sayings (euphamisms to naughty words) that they think are hilarious! They will love this one!
Thank you!

It's kind of depressing to see such low discounts sometimes. The discount in December is only 10% and I know I should't say "only" because I should be happy for any discount and to find availability at all the second weekend of December, but it's kind of depressing to see such a high total for just a few days :(.

Thanks about my niece. My sister and I are taking her in October for the Halloween party and when I was talking to her about our Oct trip, she informed me she wants to go to the Christmas party too...lol. She's been once, but it was 3 years ago in the summer (she was 3 1/2), so I know she'd love December. Not sure if December will work out, but I'm working on it as I know she'd love the Christmas party as well as seeing Disney all decorated for the holidays. I hope you are able to get down sometime around/during Christmas as it really is a fun time to go :goodvibes.

Thanks for the recommendations for December Epcot area CL! I ended up booking BWI for my family with 2 boys. My kids have been to SAB many times before, so they won’t mind missing it. My oldest son doesn’t remember falling into the pool at BWI when he was 3.

I was also able to change my September reservation from regular BWI to YC CL today for a decent AP discount.

Sounds like a resort and CL worth checking out! Great pictures. The not-so-great pools have been the main thing holding me back from staying at the CR before, but it seems like there are a lot of redeeming unique qualities that make it worth a stay- especially for a short trip where we won't have a lot of pool time. I've been somewhat surprised by the unfriendly CL CMs we've encountered during various stays (there have, of course, been wonderful standouts!) and hope our experience at the CR is similar to yours! :)

We stayed off-site when I was a kid but I also remember being really taken by the CR and the monorail running through it. Funny how those memories linger!

Just wanted you to know your initial post and my response inspired me to be a resort-changer today. I was originally debating Poly vs CR for a short weekend fall trip. CR has always been the "go-to" for a short trip with less resort time, but I had settled on Poly because the pool is more fitting for the kiddos. But I didn't really want to go back to Poly again so was already sort of itching to make a change... so I got to thinking and tinkering on the WDW website, and oopps, now at CR.

So...thanks for the inspiration!

Nice! Did you get the dates you wanted?

Hope you have a great time at BWI in December and also at YC CL on your upcoming Sept trip :wizard:.

Hope you have another great CR trip :).

Hey guys! Wondering if anyone has any updated info on GF SL. Thanks!!
I was wondering the same thing. I called signature services who said it would be done, all the other calls have said there was no construction at all. So I have no idea, just hoping it is done by 9/1

Awesome!! Glad to have inspired a CR fall trip! It's tough to give up the Poly but my thinking was similar to yours- something a little different for a short weekend is exciting. And it just means that you'll have an excuse to schedule another Poly trip. (That's how it works, right? :D) I'm heading back to the Poly for the week after Thanksgiving myself!

Have fun!!

I was really surprised at the lack of options for the fall discounts, also. I couldn't find a discount for the CR CL room we booked for Columbus Day weekend/MNSSHP, and there's absolutely nothing at the Poly (or really anywhere else at this point!) discounted the week after Thanksgiving. There was a small discount for a CR non-CL lake view room in the main tower in October, but I find CL so much more convenient for breakfast, etc. when traveling with little ones and the TPV is half the appeal- so I went for the CL room anyway. Hopefully you can grab a discount for your December trip!!! :)

Ha, well, yes... if I’m honest, I do have another Poly trip planned as well later in the year. :rolleyes1

Totally OT, but my whole internal debate with Poly and CR for this particular trip revolved around my 4 year old and walking (CR) vs monorail (Poly) to MK. I really don’t want to take the stroller for her but I remember when DS was younger that walk, Sept heat, little legs = tired boy before even getting to the park, especially when trying to balance maybe staying out a little past bedtime.

I think I’m still going to go stroller-less, but may just mean I’ll end up carrying some extra weight on the walk. :-)

Funny the small things one debates regarding any given trip/resort.

I say the stroller stays until they are all at least 6 years old. They are just too heavy to carry at the end of a long day.

I agree! Our first disney trip my kids were 5 and 8. My husband was completely against using any kind of stroller. Now, my then 8yo was just diagnosed hypothroid. He was really bad, like couldn't last more then 2 hours at a park. He slept instead of swimming in the afternoon. It was such a fight because I don't care how old he is or what people thought. The kid was sick and felt terrible . I debated rescheduling but he really wanted to go. I finally said screw what my husband days and got the plastic double in the park. It was the best day ever. Threw both kids in and we lasted way longer and my poor baby got the rest he needed. We forget how they tire out, especially in the heat.

Oh and I am staying in Atlantis this week, kids are resting so I'm playing online. I keep thinking they have to copy disney. We have paper wristbands for the waterpark and our keys pay for everything. A magic band would be perfect. You could wear it and I wouldn't have to lug my room key to the beach or park.
