BWI CL vs. GF Sugarloaf CL?

Anyone done both? Or loves one or the other?

We have GF SLCL booked but just found out about pool refurb and we are NOT big fans of construction noise! There's also CL available at BWI for our dates but we have never stayed at any of the Epcot resorts, never mind CL, so it's completely uncharted territory for us!!

We love both resorts for different reasons. SL is our summer resort mainly for the access to the courtyard pool as we spend most of the day around it and love the quick access to the lounge. The SL CMs are fabulous too. We love the whole ambience of the GF as it's such a beautiful hotel.

We tend to stay at the BWI over Christmas mainly for the access to Epcot and the Studios. I wouldn't do the walk to the Studios in the heat of summer.

Food wise, we really like both so that's probably not a great help to you. A lot of people state that SL has more of a 'club' feel than other lounges and it does get busy but we've never had a problem. The BWI CMs are legendary and will go above and beyond. Have fun deciding!

We are supposed to arrive on the 3rd...haven't booked flights yet! DH has been waiting for the San Diego meeting schedule to be set, but I think that was just finalized...which is why he's saying it will be later on the 3rd when we arrive:worried:. I guess I could fly down before him...he'd be SO jealous:P!
Come on down. :-) Maybe you should come down a day or two early...you know just to check it out...make sure all your plans are in order before DH gets there. :D I haven't booked my return flight yet, but usually do an early afternoon flight so we would leave for the airport around 11 ish.

Hi!!! They still have turn down service at WL CL?
Good news: today is my 60 days window for fast passes and I easily get FOP fast pass for all of us! Wonderfull! Looking forward to my January trip!!!:cheer2:

Congratulations on the FOP fast passes!!

Yes, they still have turn down service at WL CL. We came home two weeks ago and was very impressed with this service. Each evening we returned to prepared beds, chocolates and the tv tuned to WDW schedule channel. One day we came back to the room for a brief rest before attending the Sleepy Hollow event and my son got in the bed for a nap. When we got back later that night his bed had been straightened beautifully - a very pleasant and much appreciated surprise! Enjoy!

Our first-ever Club Level stay is booked for this summer! (And it’s our first-ever Poly stay!). We are beyond excited.

The night before we check in at PVR, we’ll be staying at BRV, then heading to MK for rope drop. Thus, we’ll either arrive to PVR by boat or monorail shortly after lunch.

Normally I would just head to a standard room and not stop by the lobby at all, unless there was a problem and/or I didn’t get the room text. Should I make an effort in this instance to stop at the front desk? Or at the club level desk? Or neither? I’d like any theatrics if they’re likely to happen with an afternoon arrival. I guess I’m just not sure what to expect? Thanks!

We're about 10 miles North of the city - you got some great weather for November around here! 16 days to go - lucky!!

It was definitely chilly, but we know it could have been a lot worse! Got my cannoli from Modern, so I was happy! LOL do you go into the city a lot?
I know, it's SO close! I feel like I am so excited and worked up for so long, that once I am finally close I'm burned out! LOL Just needs to get here already.

I have two trips ahead - which is unusual for me but one is a group trip for my daughter's dance group - and I'm obsessed with planning - so I get it! Any day it will turn and you won't have enough time to get ready, lol! Or at least that's how I always get! Yum, cannoli! We used to go in a lot more - we always had one or two memberships to the museums and we would rotate from year to year, plus we're right on the subway line and the commuter rail. But now sports gets in the way but we still try as much as we can! My kids used to be able to see the skyline from their elementary school! Glad you had fun and have more to look forward to!

Hope you have a great time on your upcoming trips! So much fun to be had!!!!!

"Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans!!" It's so hard to do everything you want, but you'll find time to get back!! The cannoli are fabulous!!

Sounds fun!

If I were you, I’d either stop by the Club Level check-in desk in the main lobby (Grand Ceremonial House) or go straight to the Hawaii longhouse and check-in with the CL CMs that are at the desks right when you walk in. Given it’s your first time, I’d probably go to the main lobby.

Regarding the Club Level check-in desk in the main lobby... if you’re looking at the main check-in desks it’s almost all the way to the right. It is ‘usually’ but not always open, although should be mid-day I suspect. There’s a rotating sign above the desk - if it’s open it says “Club Level Check-In” (or something like that).

If you do online check-in and get your room number text, bypassing everybody is also an option as well... but since it’s your first time CL you might as well go through the check-in motions. A good CL CM will go over lounge hours and other misc CL / Poly stuff. If you have kids they should give them a sand pale with a coloring book, and often a sticker or two.

Hope that helps!

Wow! You're an early bird! Unless they've changed something very recently (since mid-October), coffee service is all you're going to get at 6:30am, I'm sorry to say. But if you are there the day before your early morning, they will gladly wrap up some sticky buns, etc for you to keep in your room!

@Dispro1 , I don't WANT to be that early of a riser, haha! But when our FPs and ADRs are set, and Disney changes park hours at the last minute, I go with it! Thank you for the awesome suggestion. We will stash some breakfast foods the previous day, and grab our coffee at 6:30 a.m.!

Was going to say the same thing as @Dispro1, it’s always 7 regardless of park hours. They should have coffee out at 6:30, but that’s it. I’d recommend making a little “stash” of bagels and other easily stored items the day before so you can have something that morning.

@GADisneyDad14 , thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely do that!

I have done both and would choose the GF over BWI. The large courtyard pool is right in front of SL but you can't see the beach pool from there. You probably wouldn't hear any noise from the beach pool construction.

Thank you! :teeth: That's good to know!

It really depends on what you're looking for, honestly. Will you have kids there with you? The CL food at BWI is really good IMO, but the rooms are pretty far from the feature pool with the slide, and it doesn't have zero entry...I love a pool with zero entry! February temperatures are typically cooler so if you don't plan on much pool time, the pool doesn't matter as much. Our February trip is typically without kids so we're content with lying out by the quiet pool that is close to the BWI CL rooms if the weather is nice enough. It's really nice to walk to Epcot and HS from BWI too, and the evening entertainment on the BW is pretty cool with magicians, etc...and February temps are cool enough to enjoy the BW! On the other hand, SL isn't that close to the beach pool, so I don't know that noise would be an issue?? I would be more concerned about the courtyard pool being crowded if you plan on a lot of pool time. If you will be spending a lot of time at MK, I would stay in the monorail loop, but that's just my opinion. If you plan on pool time and a lot of MK, you might want to check on Poly? Poly has really moved up on my list lately...ahead of SL because of the view from the lounge and the Oasis pool...not to mention the grilled chicken or shrimp wraps at snack time! RPC is #1 for me but very pricey, and BWI and Poly are a tie for me in the month of February because of the cooler temps. SL is very close to the courtyard pool which is great in summer, but in February with the cooler temps and construction at the beach pool, you may want to look elsewhere. Everyone's ranks would be different depending on what they like, of course.
I am concerned about over-crowding (for Feb of course!) at the courtyard pool, good point! We are split 50/50 between MK time and Epcot Festival of the Arts time. Also glad that you tie Poly and BWI for winter - we stayed Poly CL and LOVED IT but we are trying to take advantage of the pass holder discount and Poly CL is alas already gone!

Thank you! Glad to hear about the BWI CMs. AND the food! Almost as important!! :thumbsup2

Thank you @GADisneyDad14 ! Yes, that's really helpful. I must say, your reviews of Poly CL have been enormously helpful in trying to decide whether or not to book. I appreciate your thorough detail and vast experience.

Yes, we have three little boys who would love the sand pails, etc. I am noting a stop at the lobby club desk on my spreadsheet now. Thanks again!

Hey guys! Just got back from a quick weekend Boston trip. Thought it would help make our Disney trip come faster- but no luck! Even more anxious now. 16 Days to go! Hurry up!!

Hope you had a nice time in Boston. The next 16 days will go fast and you will be arriving at Disney before you know it! :yay:

I agree with GADisneyDad. Since it's your first CL stay, I'd go through check in at the resort. Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.
