Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Quick question. We are staying BC CL for the first time and arriving this Saturday. Usually, I pack cereal, fruit, boxed pastries and we eat breakfast in the room daily, just buying milk at the gift shop when we arrive. I wasn't going to do that this time, since we are staying CL and figured we would eat breakfast at the lounge, since we are typically light breakfast eaters. My DH is concerned that this won't work, that there won't be enough food to go around, but I figure from what I have seen in pics and read, that we should be ok. Do you think we are good to go without bringing breakfast foods with us?

I haven't stayed at BC CL but, in general, the offerings are plenty for a light to medium breakfast. As noted, the items you listed are plentiful. Have a great time!

For those that have stayed YC CL recently- do they do a welcome drink when you check in?! How about chocolates at turndown? LOL (silly, I know, but it's the little things!)

First time doing CL..... how do you plan your day in order to be able to take advantage of all the food offerings? Does anyone do dining reservations, too? Will be in AKL..... are their hours and menu anywhere? Thanks in advance.

We always take advantage of breakfast. If we are close by for evening apps, we'll go,and try to make it back in time every night for cordials and dessert. We do a few dining reservations but not every day, especially days spent at the resort. There should be hours and maybe a sample menu at the beginning of the club level thread. Have a great trip.

Unless you plan to not visit the parks, you probably won't be able to take advantage of ALL of the food offerings each day. I stayed at AKL CL for two nights in March. On our first day, we had breakfast in the lounge and then went to AK, where we had lunch at Tusker House. We came back and had afternoon snacks and hung out at the resort. We returned for the evening offerings. On the second day, we stayed at the resort all day. We had breakfast in the lounge and then went to the pool. We came back midday for snacks and then participated in some of the recreational activities around the resort. We returned again for the evening offerings.

I have photos of the lounge hours and offerings from the week of March 6th in this post.

Our style.... we will almost always eat breakfast in the lounge every day. The only exception is a PPO ADR on occasion. After that I don't make it a specific point to adjust our schedule just to be around for CL offerings during the day. If we're around we'll partake, but I don't go out of my way just to do so. I still make ADRs, particularly for lunch and sometimes dinner.

Now granted, a 'normal' day for us tends to be RD a park, back after lunch for nap or pool time, then back out in the evening - so we tend to be around the resort for CL evening apps more often than not. We don't plan it specifically that way, it just falls into place nicely in our 'typical' routine.

Ok, I am getting very upset with DSS. Is anyone else having problems with them. Everything I have asked them for is a can't do, or we did it but did it wrong and we can't fix it. I called an ask for the elephant tour several months ago, we got the tour but it said you had to call if you had a service animal. Ok, we call no answer, they gave me the number, I have been calling once or twice a week for 12 weeks or more nothing, DSS staff called me about 4 weeks told me they finally got a hold of the tour people and they want me to call them, so I try almost daily several times a day for 2 weeks nothing. I ask DSS to help me get in touch, they say sorry. So since we leave in 3 days, I will cancel the tour.

Moving on call for rescues, okay it was about 120 out, they could not get me any they say, I got on computer and got everyone, around the time I asked for, maybe an hour here or there but not nothing, I got BOG, I got CRT at 7:55 the day and time I asked them for. I got spirit of Aloha and HDDR all the day and time I asked when they said they could not.

I ask for a reasonable accommodation for the room, I wish to be taken to the room and shown the evacuation route and how to use the safe since they do not put that info in Braille. I get a email a week later telling me what restaurants have Braille. I call and explain again what I would like, how to get out of the building in case of fire, from my room to the outside, or to put it in Braille. I get a call from a manager who wants to know why I don't like my room. (Maybe cause I won't be there for (3more months).

I called and asked the to change Spirit of Aloha from 2 to 3 people. They change it from catagory 1 to catagory 3, I call and said no I want to stay with catagory 1 can they fix it even if we have to change dates, they said no, I called and had it fixed.

Today, I realized that the frozen ft we got when we changed to three people, will cut into horsebackriding, cutting it very close, 1:15 fp and 2:30 be ther by 2 horseback riding. I email and ask if they could move it to Saturday instead at the same time. They tell me know it will have to be 1 pm on Saturday, I call and get a 2:30 for the date I wanted.

I am glad they don't get tips because at this point I feel this service is the worst I have ever experienced. Hesse are just a few of the things I have emailed about. So for me this service can jot even be considered anymore when you consider is CL worth it.

Just know the prearrival service is no longer the CMs you will deal with in CL lounge and check in. They now have one group that deals with all CL guests.

For your evac request the only advice I can give is to ask when you are on property. They can do the best they can but of course in the event of an emergency can never fully say you'll get out safely.

I've read that for club level there is someone to greet you by name when you enter the resort. How do they know what time you are coming in? Do I tell someone in advance?

We are staying the night before at a local friend's house and hope to be at the YC by 7/7:30am to check in, have some breakfast, and make Epcot rope drop if all goes smoothly.

We always stop by for breakfast. We often miss midday snacks because we are at the parks. If I book adrs/FP+, I allow enough time for a leisurely cocktail hour/transportation time to those bookings.

I wouldn't do CL if I planned on missing many of the breakfasts/evening hours. It just wouldn't be worth it to me.

Usually if a CM is outfront they will scan your magicband. If you do online check in you tell them your estimated time of areival.

If you are on Magical Express, they should have that information because you get checked in with your magicbands. If you drive in, the guard at the gate will ask for your name. This doesn't guarantee a personal greeting, as we have had it happen both ways. We always do automatic check in. The time we did it at Poly we were given an upgrade and I asked them how they knew to be at the curb for us: the gate guard had alerted them.

Can't remember if this awesome fruit was out at all times of day or just mornings, but my DDs LOVED the berries!

Great pictures. I love it when they don't mix the fruit...

The cake prices are breathtaking but like you said, the presentation is very nice.

I would not count on this, I have stayed CL many times and I just shot a note to DSS that I want to be greeted outside, because I have never been greeted outside. I have always had to walk in and tell someone I am CL and wait till they come get me. But many many others do have it happen. I always arrive around the 7/7:30 mark. I have arrived by DME most of the time and they call ahead and tell them, once I arrived by car and this week I will be arriving by car. My MDE said that was coming by DME and I could not change it. So I wrote them and told them, but since they have done nothing else that I asked for I will assume they won't meet me outside.

Is it fair of me to be annoyed by these two points on our current stay at BWI CL?

I asked for a glass of Cabernet, he asked me if that was white, I said that it was red, he went into the back, poured me a glass of Chardonnay, he handed it to me, I said that I asked for a Cabernet, at which point he told me that they don't do red wine until 5pm. Weird... considering I got Cabernet Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon. Is this standard?

Also, no one greeted us at the front on Sunday. We arrived by car. This is the second time staying at CL that this has happened. Had to go to front desk, find someone, and then we were taken upstairs.

Am I wrong for just being irritated by these points?

I haven't always been greeted but if you find a CM they will give you the arrival talk. When I was at BWI CL, I asked for wine in the afternoon and someone told me 'not til 5'. Then another woman came in and took out a bucket of beers (different CM). I think you have to ask another CM if you don't think the answer they are giving you is correct. I thought it was annoying too but next time I would just ask someone else.

Thanks! So is it better to do online checkin? When do you typically do it?

We will be driving so no ME

Talking about the alcohol guards: when we were at CR Atrium this was going on (Jan 2016) and I didn't mind it too much except for this one lovely CM who kept being monopolized by a male guest. She didn't seem to know how to extract herself from the chat, and that was annoying. Then there was a young man who was pouring the prosecco. He wanted to give me a champagne glass and I insisted on a wine glass, reason being, I didn't want to keep coming back and waiting forever for 2oz refills. I was just like, 'fill it'. Not sure what he thought of me but after a glass I didn't care pixiedust:

Not sure if it is 'better'? It's easier. I figure the rooms are assigned whether I do online checkin or not. So if I get there and do not like the room, I still have the option of asking them to reassign me. I usually don't because I just want to get unpacked.

I usually do it when it opens up. Make sure you call and have your requests on file before.
