Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Right? I was a little miffed I had to watch and wait for the RoL stuff too (which never happened) and ended up making my own Tiffin's reservation when they opened up. They had asked me to ask them again when it was available to book. If I have to take the time to watch out for it and then email you to let you know its available and stress about when you're going to get around to it then its less trouble to just make the reservation myself. :sad2:

Good luck to them with that idea if its true... Having to ask someone to get our Longboards from the back didn't stop us even once!

We've had the feast twice now and both times the two of us couldn't finish even one adult portion.. Do you know what a Childs portion gets you? (Seriously considering just getting one of those for us next time..!)
The childs portion is supposed to be everything but smaller amounts of it, although our server comes in the room saying "even though you ordered an adult and a child I gave you extra!"

Oh geez... That makes me even more confident a child's portion will be enough for the two of us..!

I don't think the lounge is designed for this--it's a place to sit and relax and enjoy small plates and drinks. It can actually get a little crowded in there, especially between 5 and 7, and that's with people enjoying a small amount of appetizers and maybe a drink. And then again when it's about time for the fireworks. I would not feel comfortable taking up an area large enough for a group of 5 to enjoy the Ohana feast. I think it would really distract from the enjoyment of the other guests in the lounge.
But the third floor never seems to be that busy, I agree that it may be an option. It does no harm to ask

Thank you for the feedback. We would not be there for the 5-7 time. Was thinking between then and 8. I will ask when we get there if eating during the quiet time between appetizers and fireworks would be ok.

I think dessert time starts at 8. Certainly worth asking, the CL CM's may have a suggestion for a location for your feast.

In my experience at the various club levels, it is very quiet between 7 and 8:30ish. The Poly lounge has that upstairs area that might be ok. We definitely understand not hogging space during the busy times. If there is nobody around, it would be a nicer option for us.

I've seen the lounges used creatively during the quiet hours. (Board game parties, etc.) As long as it is not preventing others from enjoying the lounge, it seems to be ok.

I will ask the CL CMs and see what they say. If yes, then fantastic. If no, we make do somehow in the room.

If you have a Boardwalk view CL room booked does that mean you'll have one of the 8 rooms that's listed on the first page of this thread? Just trying to figure out where those rooms would be located. TIA.
The 8 rooms you mentioned are the deluxe rooms. The Boardwalk view rooms are just what they say, views of the boardwalk and Cresent Lake. The standard view rooms over look the gardens and the quiet pool.

Has anyone stayed CR CL recently? We go in less than 30 days and I am trying to finalize everything. Is there yogurt at breakfast? Was the peanut butter and jelly that I have heard about offered every night? What kind of wine and beer did they have?

Thanks!!

That's promising then...thanks!

I would call the IPO right away if I had a question like this.

Just a quick follow-up: I eventually received another email, saying my card has finally been found; I was told the cast member I spoke with was based on the YC (weird, the voice message stated clearly "Grand Floridian Itinerary Planning Office") and that they needed to transfer the details. Intriguingly, my CC was deemed invalid and I was invited to call back, which I did today as soon as IPO opened. I was able to smoothly give my CC details once again, and insisted upon making the reservation I needed while on the phone, just to be sure. Everything went fine, I received a text from my bank immediately, confirming a payment has been made.

I'm still not sure they haven't "lost" my details on the first call, but at least I have expressed my concerns about this, and they assured me I should not worry about my CC being associated to some other accounts…

Overall I find this process so tedious and overly complicated. Why doesn't Disney allow the IPO to use the credit card associated with the MDE app and/or with online checkin? This does not make any sense. I'm not a phone person at all, this just adds frustration to the inconvenience.

I hear you. Disney's IT system is so tedious, there really are no words. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Just to let you know, the IPO's assist each other when it gets busy. Your call to YC can be routed to Grand Floridian, and I think sometimes the GF folks will help with YC (or other resort) when things get hectic. It's certainly confusing, though.
I've wondered the same thing about the MDE credit card. Who knows?

Now that all these details have been taken care of, I hope you have a great CL resort experience. :beach:

We are back from our AKL stay.

We enjoyed it and I was totally able to pull off the surprise of CL. Having the DVC the first night made it easier.

While I loved the room view and the food at the lounge, we decided AKL wasn't our favorite because of the lounge location.

We had room 4515 which is in the pod after the Mara elevator. Great for pool.. But a walk to the lounge elevator.

DD decided BC if her favorite for the lounge size and amount of offerings. I prefer GF or BC.

This would be the zebra trail? Just curious if you made any requests. I have not tried other CLs so will not be able to compare. I made a request for Kudu trail, midway, since I didn't want to be just staring at the rock.

I can't help as we haven't stayed CR CL, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :).

Sorry about all the hassle with IPO, but I'm glad everything got straightened out :goodvibes.

I agree, it's pretty sad sometimes :sad2:.

Glad you were able to keep the surprise! I totally get what you're saying about the lounge location. That factor alone matters a lot to my family as well.

Does anyone have a recent menu for the CL offerings at Sugarloaf (or even RPC, as I hear they're the same)? I'm just curious as we have never experienced it before. Thanks in advance!

It is on the zebra trail.. It was down past the rock.. I had requested close to lobby, but now that I see those views, close to elevator would be a better selection. We were right in front of the watering hole

That is "our" room. We request it ever trip. Yes it's a bit of walk to the lounge but we love the view from that room. If you are someone who goes to the lounge a lot I could see where it would get tiring walking up and down that long hall multiple times, but it works for us.

Wilderness Lodge CL Question--does anyone with recent experience at WL CL wish to share what they thought of it? We have stayed there before, and WL is the absolute favorite resort of my DH and DGS, but I was a little underwhelmed by the WL CL when we were there two years ago. I am hesitant to book there as part of our split stay this December. The first part of our stay is at the BWV.

I am considering booking BWI CL based on the great things I have heard, but the downside to that is that we would remain in the same place by EPCOT, and we truly enjoy the WL at Christmas, love the decorations and the choral groups that sing in the lobby. My questions are:

Any thoughts on WL CL vs. BWI CL?

How has construction affected the CL at WL?

Are my expectations simply too high for service on the CL? I have been blessed to stay at hotels like the Del Coronado and maybe that has skewed me as to what to expect from places like the GF? I want to add that we are the considerate, non-demanding sort of guests, but I do *notice* things and while these *things* might not even be things I am experiencing, it still impacts my impression of the place. For ex: a previous poster said that a CM "grabbed" the wine bottle from a guest. If that is correct, that the CM grabbed the wine bottle, that is a horrible faux pas. The correct approach would have been to approach in a genial manner and ask, "Pardon me, ma'am, may I assist you with the wine?" in a non-confrontational manner.

Once at the WL CL I observed two CL CMs that stood at the railing and hooted and hollered down to another CM in the lobby. (So, yes, down 7 floors.) They were apparently playing some sort of game. This game went on for awhile. It was 9:30 in the evening, and there were guests needing some assistance. Presumably, some may have been sleeping on the floor. Our DGC were, for example. To be balanced, on one trip my DGD developed a low grade temp and my daughter stayed with her in the room for a day and a half until my DGD felt better. The CMs were very sweet about keeping the room fridge stocked with juices and water, crackers and etc.

So it is not my intention to be unkind and whatnot, my question is sincere: Are my expectations (based on above) simply too high for Disney CL? Am I simply too old school? Or as my children like to tease, "too Downton Abbey in a Modern Family world"?

Just wanted to say I'm sorry you haven't received many responses to your questions. For whatever reason sometimes there's not much WL CL discussion on this thread it seems. I *think* they have or are moving the lounge as part of the current renovations but I'm not up to speed as to the latest status. I've loosely followed the renovations going on at the overall resort and I think I'd probably suggest you steer clear until done. I'm not opposed to construction at a hotel..progress has to happen sometime...but it just seems a little too much for us (this coming from someone who stayed at Poly at the height of their construction a few years ago and it was the best trip we've ever had). I'm sure the WL thread has some updated info.

In terms of service, BWI CL CM's tend to get relatively consistent rave reviews on this thread. We have not stayed there so unfortunately can't report first hand.

I don't think your expectations are too high, although like with most service-oriented venues occasionally you get some bad eggs, people not properly trained, or people that just don't care. It's a touch frustrating because I do think we as CL customers tend to put up with occasional sub-par or even just average service at Disney because the other parts of a Disney trip (be it entertainment, leisure, etc) tend to make up for it. I would say I have a "different" expectation of CL service than I would have at say, something like a Four Seasons or Ritz. But I travel enough to appreciate that ultimately you can get crappy service pretty much anywhere, no matter the price!

Anyway, best of luck with your planning. Disney around Christmas is fantastic!

At the BWI right now. CMs are great as usual. Some new faces but all very cheerful and welcoming. Wine and beer has been self serve this first night. The 5-7 offerings consisted of beef barley soup, corn dog nuggets, pork sliders, assorted cheeses, and of course the veggies and pb&j roll ups. Here are some pics I posted on the Boardwalk thread
