Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have a question. We are stay are staying CL at Boardwalk. We have never done a split stay from anywhere to anywhere or showed up early at a resort. We will be coming to BWI in the morning traveling over from Royal Pacific and my intent is to get there early so we don't lose a whole Disney park day. I keep reading that you need to check into your hotel before your park tickets will work. Is this true? Cant we leave our luggage with bell services and walk on over to Epcot until later when our room is ready? Will our magic bands work at that point? Do I need to let someone from ipo know we will be early -- even though we cant check in yet? I don't want surprises after walking all over to Epcot and finding out we cant get in yet.
Thanks!

My understanding is that you need to check in for your magic bands to work. You can leave your luggage and go back to your room later.

You can check in as early as 7:00 AM. Most likely your room will not be ready, but you can store your luggage with bell services. BWI is such an easy walk to Epcot and your Magic Bands will be ready to go. Great planning to have Epcot as your park for that morning!

Help me understand this please. When I spoke with Poly IPO they told me that the lounge always closes at 10pm. In the next breath they stated that yes we can watch Wishes from the lounge. How does that work when wishes is slated for a 10pm start. Is the lounge open later? They were adamant that it closed at 10
Thanks

I think they just mean the CM's leave at 10 and technically dessert is over. Sometimes they will leave out some goldfish or something minor like that, but we never count on anything. You always have access to the lounge and refrigerator, though, so if it's after 10 at night you can still sit in the lounge.

I just watched Wishes from the lounge. At 9:57 a CM announced last call for desserts because at 10 everything would be put away. And it was.

Besides the desserts there were uncrustables as well.

And the last two nights 5-7 they had some kid friendly options out. Last night had uncrustables cut in half and little pita pocket things. Tonight they had mini turkey hot dog corn dogs and the pita things again. Just thought I'd share seeing as there were questions about the kids options.

Also- we did receive the welcome chocolates and have received turndown without requesting it.

I agree with everyone else. The food is gone at 10pm, but there really isn't a way for them to close up the lounge like there is at some of the other resorts. I don't think there is even a door to lock if they wanted to. Lots of people watch Wishes from the lounge. ;)

We have booked our first CL stay at the AKL for our first wedding anniversary 18-25 February 2017 and would love to be added to the list - I am so excited, I'm off to read everything about it!

Well, I noticed a week or so ago that there were TPV CL rooms available with our PIN code but couldn't quite pull the plug on it.... Went to look and they are now gone again and I am kicking myself! Oh well, stay indecisive long enough and it will be decided for you! :rotfl:

Ya, that's quite a decision maker .

YAY!!! WE LOVED the Poly CL last Jan. I am so happy for you that you will be trying it soon as well.
The convenience of Hawaii was perfect! We loved having the pool right next door. Actually, everything felt very close by. DH couldn't get his cappuccino as the machine was broken for our entire stay, otherwise it was wonderful.
PLUS, you are at the Polynesian!!! Life doesn't get any better than that, IMO. So relaxing, so peaceful.

:goodvibes

Hi all, it's our ADR day on Saturday. I have asked the ipc at AKL to make some of our dining and activities but am keeping some( CRT, bog, Bbb) as really want to know I tried my hardest to get these ( and then I can only blame myself! ) if I see the others( that I have asked ipc to do) at the time we want before I hear back from the ipc- should I book them? Or will this cause issue when they try to do them( I would email them to tell them but there is a chance they may not read it before attempting)?
This is probably just ADR nerves but would appreciate views/ experience.
Many thanks
Ruth

You can book the ones you asked IPO to get and if IPO also books some, you can cancel any duplicates. Good luck and I hope you get everything you want :wizard:.

Hi! Long time reader, first time posting

Right now we are staying BC/CL with a water view 9/3-/9/10. We are a family of four (two adults, DD 7 and DS 3) and we have stayed at POFQ, Pop, and SSR in the past. I'm a little nervous to be staying so far away from MK. Looking into GF/SL and it would be about $600 more for the trip. Right now we are planning on purchasing the 4 day military tickets and going to the MNSSHP one night. We plan on breaks during the day to swim/nap and one resort day. Is the switch to GF worth it? I'm worried about GF being a little to reserved for my sweet but energetic 3 year old.

What is the club level like for BC?
I'd appreciate any advice you have!

I can't compare the CLs as I haven't stayed CL at the BC, but as far as the resorts overall, I prefer the GF. We enjoyed our stay at the BC, but I like the GF atmosphere and pool better than the BC. If you plan on spending a lot of time at MK and want to have a quick trip back to your resort after the party, I'd switch to the GF. With that said, the GF is just as kid friendly as any other resort, so I wouldn't about that. Good luck with your decision :).

I agree. The food service is over at 10 pm, but the lounge is accessible all the time ;).

Hope you have a great anniversary trip :wizard:.

I would ask for a higher floor, as the ground floor can be very, very loud in the mornings. The top floor has dormer rooms, so if those bother you, ask for a middle floor. I actually didn't mind the dormer room, I liked not having anyone above me. Those rooms are slightly smaller, but they feel big due to the very high ceilings. You can't sit on the balcony and look out at the scenery, though - it's a solid wall. That was not a deal breaker for me, but it is for others.

Thank you for the suggestions. I now have some things to consider.

Thank you! Looking forward to it all being done now. Fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone! I guess I assumed it was like at BC last time we stayed there the lounge was locked at times

Asked this on the Poly board but haven't got a response yet and trying to block out some dates so I'll try here -

Is the Ku'ulei punch served at the Polyensian CL all the time? I had this last summer for the first time but I only saw it on a Sunday afternoon. I was there during the week in December but never saw it out (but I didn't really make good use of the club so I might've just missed it).

Is it served every evening or just on the weekends?

good question... is this the "adult" POG..?

I think so.

I'm trying to setup a trip for the family and we're going to try to do more resort things this trip - So if they only serve the adult POG on the weekends I might try to begin or end the trip on a weekend day - but for crowd levels/cost I'd like to try to keep it in the middle of the week if possible.

It has been there every night we have been here. We arrived Saturday and I had it every night.

If that's the adult Pog juice, it's served between 5-7 each night, unless it has recently changed. If they have a jug mixed up in the kitchen, sometimes the CM will give you a cup during other time frames if you ask for it. If there's any left over from the 5-7 time frame, I've seen the jug still out during dessert time too.

Yep, every evening for appetizers and I think maybe desserts too (unless something has changed recently). I'm a sucker for fruity island drinks but that stuff is a bit too weak for my taste! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 But, I'd still pay good money to be sitting in that lounge right now sipping one!
