Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have been lurking on this thread for a couple of months as I researched our upcoming AK CL stay and I figure it is time to start posting. :) DH and I are going 9/8-9/14 for our 20th Anniversary. It is our first CL stay and I am super excited! I am not normally one to seek out extra magic, but I really want this to be an extra special trip. I got our initial IPO email last week and I was super excited. I will be making my own dining reservations since I just can't give up that much control :), but is there anything else I should request from IPO? I am staying on DVC points...is there a "best" room to request?

I am super excited to make my dining reservations later this week, but then it is another long wait before the next planning stage. Gah! The waiting is going to drive me batty. Excitement levels are already through the roof. :yay:

Congratulations on booking your first CL stay! :) Grabbing ADRs is always an exciting and stressful time. I hope you get everything you want! :D

Congrats on your first upcoming CL stay! We've never stayed CL at AKL, but it is one we want to try as we love AKL and I am always reading great things about CL. Good luck with your ADRs this week, I hope you get everything you want. Happy planning :wizard:.

I have stayed for a few birthdays (either me or DS) and I ask the IPO to note on my reservation that we'll be "celebrating XXX's X birthday" or something along those lines. I always feel awkward even asking and the CM's might not even do anything with the info, but it can't hurt!

I also just wanted to say that we went to WDW early September 2014 and in our travels to date that is perhaps my favorite time of the year to go!! If the Halloween Party dates are early this year (they weren't last year), you may even get to fit in a party if that's of interest. Regardless, have a great trip! Enjoy 6 months of planning!

I think I've decided just to keep us at AKL CL the whole week when we go in September. I priced out 2 nights at GF for the end of our trip and almost fell down dead - holy schamoly they want $1k/nt for RPC. I'd like to stay in the main building, but if I sign us up for that I won't need an anniversary trip because my husband will divorce me :rotfl::laughing::rotfl:

I was just able to remove my dining package from my reservation. I did not see the value, considering that my DW and two girls eat like birds. It also freed me up from paying 30 days out as well. I apologize if this has been covered. Is there any value in checking in a month prior to arrival?

One of the benefits of not doing the dining plan is flexibility. With the offerings on CL, sometimes we'll have salad and shared apps for dinner. It's nice to be able to order what you want and not be tied to a heavy dinner every night.
Some people do online check in, some do not. It's kind of split, I think either is ok.

I usually go ahead and complete my online check-in just to mark it off my to-do list. :) I don't think it helps or hurts to do it right away, but I recommend you complete it at least a couple of weeks out. That way I know I've got it done before the room assignor starts working on placement.

RPC prices are ridiculous, but you may want to check back when discounts are released for your dates. We got a 35% discount for our upcoming trip! That is an AP discount, but even non AP discounts can be as much as 30% (although you don't see that as often any more...it seems to be more like 25%). No matter where you stay, I'm sure you'll have a great trip:)!

I priced out the dining plan this weekend alfor my upcoming trip and I didn't see the value. For one I don't drink pop and raraely want dessert. (I'm celiac so their options are always that great anyway.) plus we get dessert with club level, but even without it it's not high on my list. So it was just paying for things that wasn't a priority.

We are booked for our first ever CL stay at the Poly, 4/13-4/17 before heading off on the Magic for our cruise. I really appreciate everyone's knowledge, advice and opinions as I've had the same questions that others have had. I started with post #1 and read every post...until I came to the "remember when" posts. A couple of times before those posts came up I had already become a little anxious because of people talking about being disappointed and of there being cutbacks. Then mickeynut1 would post a reminder that one person's bad experience was another person's best vacation ever and I really want to have that mentality going into my vacation...my very pricey vacation...so I chose to skip those posts at this time so I wouldn't be running the risk of negatively comparing what I experience with what others did in the past. I'll probably come back and read them after, though!

Again, thanks everyone for such a great board! Can't wait to finally stay at the Poly, and at CL!

We stayed at the Poly CL last month and absolutely loved it. For & service was great, and we felt very pampered. We have a great 3rd floor room with a view of the fireworks. I love the Poly :). You will love it! Have a great trip

Hi Everyone, I love this thread!
My daughter and I are staying YC CL for the first time next week. We are very familiar with the BC CL, but since there was nothing available last minute, YC it is, and we are really excited having never stayed there before.

My question is, does anyone have any information or experience for people with food allergies and the options in the lounge? She cannot have gluten or dairy, which I know is very limiting, but wanted to know if the staff is helpful with ingredient information. Are there any gluten free breakfast breads?

Also, did the food offerings change at all with the refurb? I asked on the YC/BC thread and received some great pictures of many things, but I wasn't familiar with some of them.

Thank you!

I only have experiences with allergies at the Poly CL, not YC, but thought you might still find it helpful. Before our CL stay, it was very tricky to find info! At check in, we mentioned our allergies and were advised to speak directly to the chef in lounge when he was working. He wanted to know both allergies and preferences and came up with a plan for us to call dining (room service) for a hot option to be delivered to lounge for our daughter with allergies. This was only for the evening hours, as there were fruits and oatmeal provided in the morning (we had dairy, egg, and other allergies, but she could do gluten.) there would typically be hardboiled eggs, too, and you can likely request a gluten free breakfast bread. For apps, my daughter would order fish (go figure), and they would bring plain fish for her, as she could never eat any of the hot apps. We did have to call each order in about an hour before it would be delivered to the lounge, which took some planning. Hope this helps!

We stayed YC CL in August 2014, and one of our children has allergies, but I'm not sure I can help much because our son has nut and egg allergies, so we would just stay away from items that may be problematic. He pretty much stuck to bagels/cream cheese and cereal with milk most mornings which really doesn't help you. He would eat a banana as well. We didn't really use the the lounge other than for breakfast, except to grab a handful of Swedish fish every night, so I don't really know the afternoon and evening offerings.

Also, I don't know if the food offerings have changed since then, especially with the refurbished club lounge.

I am sure the CMs (probably via the hotel chef) will be able to help you with ingredients and options. They are so good about allergies throughout WDW that I am confident things will work out for you at the Regatta Club.

We are heading back to YC CL, but we are about a week behind you… we check in on the 18th. Have a great trip!
