Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Go for it. It's a birthday celebration!!:bday:. Have a few cocktails at night and a nice breakfast each morning. Or maybe you can make it back for desserts and cordials??

If the extra cost is doable, I'd splurge and go with CL, even if it is for just 2 nights :goodvibes.

I would. For me CL has little to do with dinner plans, we often miss evening apps anyway so it's not really a factor when deciding to book it or not. :)

You guys about have me convinced. I think I'll upgrade it. The cost isn't really a big deal, just don't want to be unnecessarily wasteful. My nagging feeling that we will miss it is probably enough to tell me I need to book it!

Please don't fret....we just left late Monday night 2/1 from YC CL. Our magic bands worked perfectly till we left the resort at 7ish for a 9pm flight. If you have a problem, I would go to front desk immediately.
Thank you for this. I am a notorious worry wart who when it comes to our Disney vacations doesn't like change. We have stayed at the BWI CL numerous times but tend to leave by early afternoon so this would be our first time using the lounge later in the evening.

I have to say that I am not surprised. Don is a gem of a CM who goes above and beyond, as well as a genuinely nice person. We aren't staying at AKL for our upcoming trip :( but when I called IPO because I was having trouble getting an ADR a week after they made my reservations (the restaurant was showing no availability for our days, and never did, so I knew it was either getting refurbed or they somehow never loaded those days into MDE) I was kicked over to AKL CL and got Don. He called the manager of the restaurant, got me my ADR, and had them load their times onto the website so other people could book it, too. (In contrast, all the other IPO CMs I spoke with just told me it seems like it's unavailable, there must be a reason, and there was nothing they could do about it). This is not even close to the first time Don has made me glad that I booked CL.

Glad everything worked out and you were able to get the other ADR you wanted. Don sounds like an amazing IPO CM :thumbsup2.

Hope you have a great birthday trip! :goodvibes

I did a non-CL stay at the YC in 2014 and majorly regretted it. For some reason I can stay moderate and value with no regret at all, but when I splurge for deluxe I feel like CL is a must! :D

We feel the same way. Other than CL at the deluxes, our next favorite is Business Class at CSR. Must be that chip they implant in you when you stay CL the first time!! :rolleyes1

We just returned from five nights at the Poly in a TPV room, but not CL. We booked a bounceback for December 2016 and opted for Poly GV CL for that trip. It'll be our first time in CL. We walked around the resort a lot, so we are familiar with Hawaii's location and the expected view for a GV room (especially once the Oasis pool is done). Given that, here are my questions:

1. What are the typical food offerings for breakfast in the lounge?
2. What are the typical snacks and drinks available during the day (we are not soda or juice drinkers)?
3. What's offered in the evenings for food and drinks? Does it change nightly?
4. We will have our 4 year old with us; will he be welcome at all hours or just during the day?
5. Are rooms near the elevator noisy and thus to be avoided? (I plan to ask for a room further down the hall but just curious because I know requests are not a guarantee)
6. When can I expect to hear from the IPO CM? 6 months prior to our arrival? Later or earlier than that? (I don't have any immediate needs so no reason to call them yet; just wondering!).
7. Is there any (real or perceived) advantage to putting room requests into the system this early? I know room assignments aren't made until about 5 days before arrival...

I'm sure I'll have more questions as the dates approach. Thanks so much in advance. We're very excited to return to Poly within the year!

Nice BB! I love Poly CL and it has been a favorite spot with us and DS (age 3-5) on our trips to date. Here's what I can add:

1) Think continental breakfast. Muffins, some cut up / sliced fruit (but not a ton), bagels, toast, cereal, hard boiled eggs. Hot oatmeal with toppings. They have apples and bananas out all day. I've seen Hampton Inns with a more elaborate/diverse breakfast display, but it gets the job done for us.
2) Snacks during the day are really just that, snacks. Think goldfish, popcorn, snack mix, cookies (oatmeal and chocolate chip). It's good for a little nibble but not much else. For drinks, filtered water, tea, lemonade (I think), and the sodas in the fridge. They fill carafes of coffee (all day) and there's also one of those self serve Nescafé machines. You can always ask for beer throughout the day, they have them in the back.
3) Light appetizers, changes nightly (although items will repeat if your stay is several days). I've seen things like pot stickers, chicken wings, sushi rolls, etc for the hot stuff. All dishes seem to have Polynesian flair. There will be a selection of cheese and crackers. Wine, beer, and a fruity alcoholic punch (has a name but can't remember). There's not really enough here to be a full meal but it can be if you've had a big lunch or just want to eat light. They switch to desserts later in the night.
4) It's Disney - kids are welcome all the time! CL isn't some kind of adult-only place.
5) Don't have experience staying in a room right by the elevator so can't really answer. But, my room requests are 3rd floor (first preference) and close to the lounge (second preference) room XXXX+, or something like that because I don't really want the first few from the elevator. Hawaii really isn't that big so the "close to the lounge" request isn't really that important to us, but I do prefer to be more on the lounge side of the building with our kids.
6) My experience has been anywhere from right after you book to never! You can e-mail them anytime, just put your reservation number in the e-mail. I don't wait for them to e-mail anymore.
7) Everything you read will tell you no, I think. FWIW I've had great luck with my requests, whether they were submitted 6 months or 2 weeks in advance. I do like to do them early just so I don't forget though!

On the lounge food, I've had good success asking for a yogurt or uncrustable PBJ at any time during the day for DS. They don't always have any in the back but sometimes do.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! Yes, this helps tremendously! We don't eat big breakfasts and what you described sounds perfectly adequate for us. We also tend to skip lunch and go for an early dinner, so light snacks and appetizers/desserts in the evening are perfect too. Last trip, we ordered snacks and bottled water through Garden Grocer so I was just trying to gauge whether that would be necessary this time around.

As for room requests, we had great success this last trip faxing our request through Touring Plans 5 days prior and got the exact room we requested. I think this time, I'll call Disney to put in my request and again do the fax to cover my bases; can't hurt to ask!

Again, thank you for the feedback. We're already counting down the days until December.

We stayed three doors down from the elevator on garden view side and noise was never an issue. I think you could forgo garden grocer. The lounge is adequate for snacks and drinks. Have fun!

Disney around the holidays is really fun! FWIW, on our last Poly CL trip this past October I decided next time I'd order bottled water from Garden Grocer even though we can get water in the lounge. I/we drink a lot of water, more than we can reasonably get in the smallish cups in the lounge, and I think I'd rather have a supply of cold water on hand for whenever.

We ordered two 24 packs of water this past trip and they sent us two 32 packs (there was a special and it was the same price). We drink a lot of water too but 64 bottles in 5 days was more than we could do! I may do water again based on your input of what's offered on CL. Unfortunately that alone wasn't enough to hit the $40 minimum for Garden Grocer. I'll have to find something else besides snacks (which it sounds like we won't need) to offset. THANKS!

We love Poly CL! The view from the lounge is crazy beautiful! I posted pictures of the nightly evening apps for one week during the 4th of July. So if you scroll back in this thread for around maybe July 10 or so, you can see the pics! We usually eat our big TS meal at lunch time, so the evening apps are just right for us.

I found my pics! Page 36 of this thread

Thanks! I'm going to check those out now!

We are booked for a June trip to BC CL - just moved our trip from Spring Break because we are moving at that time. I've never stayed CL at BC, so very excited but also have a few questions. Are there daybeds in CL? I tried to request one and the CM said they didn't have them. She was not the best person I've ever spoken to when calling for a reservation (as an aside, is everything new? I feel like the Disney pixie dust is slipping a bit...) as she didn't know that and could not find a room w/the discount I was asking for - even though I had pulled it up online and was clearly available.

Also - can someone share about the new feature of someone pouring your wine, cordials, etc. versus being self serve? And, of course, any other good tips would be great. WE usually go to WDW at least annually and it has been 2 YEARS so I'm rusty but SO EXCITED!!!

thank you :)

I stayed for one night CL at BC in November. Our room had 2 queens only. However it was a corner room and didn't have space for one. I posted pix on BC thread, see below.

They have wine upon request anytime, even if lounge closed(4-5pm for example). There was a cart for it set up from 5-7. At dessert time the cordials were just left out. I don't think there was a cart but they had people asking if we needed anything so you could request beer/wine.

I have stayed at both self serv and non wine cl's and I honestly didn't mind having it poured. It feels more fancy to have it poured. I thought getting it myself was better but most times the bottle was empty and I stood there pathetically waiting.... With a cart they have an endless supply.

Thank you so much! I am not a big drinker but I wondered how that went. Also appreciate the info on your room!

For anyone who has stayed at the Boardwalk club level..... any room location requests I should make? We are booked standard view. I'm trying to get excited about our trip but we stayed at monorail resorts our last two trips and feel like I might miss it. We have stayed at Epcot resorts before and loved it but for some reason I keep second guessing my choice. Any helpful info and tips about Boardwalk CL to help change my mind??? TIA

I was there in December, and DH and I both really liked it:) We usually prefer monorail resorts too because MK is our favorite park, but it's really nice to have a short walk to Epcot and a bit longer walk (or boat ride) to HS! We were there without our kids in December, so we only went to MK one day and to MVMCP. Travel time to MK can be long but can also be somewhat short if you hit the buses right. If you won't really be spending any more time at MK than any other park, I wouldn't worry about it. It wouldn't be a deal breaker even if you are, IMO. We requested to be inside the Innkeeper's security door on the fourth floor and a King bed if possible and we got both; however, we were a good hike from the lounge. Being on the fourth floor inside the security doors was my priority. If you don't need/want a king bed, you might say close to lounge also. We really liked the lounge staff (except for that one manager who is misinformed about lounge access on checkout day) and the food offerings were good. We really enjoyed the multiple outdoor seating areas where you could sit and enjoy the evening after the CL lounge closes (if you aren't ready to sleep yet). There is a balcony outside the Bellevue Lounge (I think that's what it's called?) and there's another one more toward the center of the Inn that even has rocking chairs...although these were usually taken. Both of these areas were on the BW side. I also thought the quiet pool was very nice and quiet indeed! Perhaps it was the time of year because it was a bit chilly...we only got in the hot tub;)

Funny you mention BWI CL.....because I may have changed to BWI Standard View CL....

(sorry Erika) BWI 8/7-8/15 :)

I haven't even considered requests yet LOL

What category did you book? LV/PV only sleep 4 so no daybeds. I know Standard view has some and possibly Garden View :)

Congrats on booking CL for your next trip! Hope you have a great time. We love the Poly and are excited to try CL later this year :).

I agree! Disney anytime of year is great, but Disney during the holidays is a lot of fun :santa:.

Not all rooms at the BC come with a daybed (but some do), so you would have to request it. With that said, I'd call back as the CM you talked to is incorrect as they are available and can be requested ;).

We've never stayed at BWI so I can't comment from experience, but I think you'll have a great stay as I am always reading great things about BWI CL :goodvibes.
