Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I'm doing a girls' trip with my DD8 and my mom over Memorial Day Weekend. I'm torn between BWI CL and YC CL. DD and I have stayed both, but my mom has only stayed YC CL. My biggest concerns are renovations. I read that the 4th floor at the BWI could be under renovations through May 2016. Any idea about the YC? Thoughts on one over the other??

Thank you for this really helpful thread! Please put us down for Poly GV Club October 21- Nov 4th. Travelling with our 3 kids from UK along with our friends and their 2 kids . So excited! 2nd time in WDW, we stayed at YC 2012. First time in club . Yay!

I have not really kept up with the renovation dates, they seem to change a lot depending on who you ask. I would just do YC CL regardless. I know their lounge is done with its renovation, plus the weather for Stormalong Bay will be great that time of year. Although probably insanely crowded. But I love the YC and always prefer it over BWI. Just a personal preference.

These pictures of the Grand are beautiful Erika, I am blown away by the Christmas trees, so well decorated.
I have to update our presence at club level , we will stay at BWI July 23-27 and we'll go for King Kamehameha July 27-31!!
Just received an email from IPO, I have already booked everything haha but so great.

If you were me would you pay a couple hundred extra for the week to upgrade to TPV?

My Poly trips have been mostly TPV with a couple of GV. Our main priority in a room has to date been a balcony, so TPV has always seemed to be the best way to increase those odds. Seemed like with LV I was increasing the odds of being on the dreaded (for us) second floor, but maybe I'm wrong. Plus the "couple of hundred dollars for the trip" math gets me every time.

We've never stayed at the CR, but I love GF RPC. The GF is great (IMO) no matter what room category you're in, but RPC is just amazing! With that said, I have read great things about CR CL, so I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I'd choose the one that theme/decor appeals to you the most. Good luck .

Hmmmm... for a kid-free trip in the middle of the summer I'd probably lean towards the Contemporary. I'd go Tower Club on the 14th floor with a king bed overlooking MK.

I'm so torn. So we are doing just 2 nights at the Beach Club in April for a little birthday getaway. We love CL, but have found we don't get a ton of use out of it when we do signatures. We have 2 signature dinners. That said... I still feel like we will miss it. It's around $260 more to upgrade. Would you do it?

Go for it. It's a birthday celebration!!. Have a few cocktails at night and a nice breakfast each morning. Or maybe you can make it back for desserts and cordials??

Blah blah blah, I don't believe that CM for one second. I've never been thrown out of a lounge at 11:00 AM, or even witnessed anyone being asked to leave. The lounge CMs don't know who is checking out on which day. How would they know??? Telepathy???

Now I do believe they could deactivate Magic Bands for accessing the elevator and/or locked CL door to the lounge. I could see that happening. So people who leave in the morning wouldn't be able to get back to the lounge that evening for apps. It's never happened to me personally because once I pack up and leave I don't go back later in the day. But I know it's always been a popular perk for folks flying home late. I would just straight out tell the CM at the desk the day before checkout that you have a late flight the next day and need access to the lounge. If they say no I would ask to speak to a manager.

We just left YC CL 2/1 at 7pm. We had access to CL all day and every CM made us very comfortable while we were waiting for our departure flight home at 9:30pm. No problems at all. We went in and out of the lounge all day long. Our magic bands worked throughout the day. There were other guests flying out that night as well. We all had some "good bye" drinks and appetizers before saying so long to our new CM friends. I certainly would address this to Guest Relations. You have access to what you paid for until midnight that night, so be it that CL closes at 10pm.

Wow this is really upsetting! We have always used the BWI lounge before our late flight and plan on doing it again this March. I will let you all know what happens.

Please don't fret....we just left late Monday night 2/1 from YC CL. Our magic bands worked perfectly till we left the resort at 7ish for a 9pm flight. If you have a problem, I would go to front desk immediately.

If the extra cost is doable, I'd splurge and go with CL, even if it is for just 2 nights .

Glad you didn't have any trouble accessing the lounge all day after check out .

(plans fell through with his dad) So I immediately spring to action to add him to our trip. First buying his airfare so we'll be on the same flight, then adding him to our resort reservation at AKL. Next I notify IPO to see if there is anything they can do about our ADRs, which include some of the toughest restaurants to find. The amazing Don springs to action to not only fix almost all of my ADRs but also the fastpasses. He saved me a ton of time and was super helpful and kind.

I would. For me CL has little to do with dinner plans, we often miss evening apps anyway so it's not really a factor when deciding to book it or not.

I have to say that I am not surprised. Don is a gem of a CM who goes above and beyond, as well as a genuinely nice person. We aren't staying at AKL for our upcoming trip but when I called IPO because I was having trouble getting an ADR a week after they made my reservations (the restaurant was showing no availability for our days, and never did, so I knew it was either getting refurbed or they somehow never loaded those days into MDE) I was kicked over to AKL CL and got Don. He called the manager of the restaurant, got me my ADR, and had them load their times onto the website so other people could book it, too. (In contrast, all the other IPO CMs I spoke with just told me it seems like it's unavailable, there must be a reason, and there was nothing they could do about it). This is not even close to the first time Don has made me glad that I booked CL.
