Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We are slated for GF CL Sugarloaf. Opinions please! Alternatives?
I have done Gf in sl and rpc, poly, cr, wl and bc cl's. I loved them all and would go back to all.

Sugar Loaf's strengths: Location is great for transportation. In the middle between bus/boat and mono. It is also close to pool/hottub and QS food.

Building size is manageable. You can eat in the lounge or take back to room. In warmer months I liked to sit on the balcony.

GF has more afternoon offerings. We do a mid day break and loved the tea service and having veggies available as well.

Down side the lounge doesn't have a "view" like cr or poly or open space like rpc or wl.

Last stay was last August and we had a truly wonderful time.

Your hubby sounds like mine. We LOVE the Poly CL -- honestly, it's so relaxed there and the views are to die for. DH loves grabbing a beer whenever he wants one (no alcohol servers there) and the CM's are always so willing to go in the back and get whatever you want. We were going to the pool one afternoon and we stopped in the lounge to get some drinks...DH got his beer and the CM asked if I wanted one too and I said no and that I really only like the special adult pog juice they make at night so I'd be back in the lounge at 5:00. Much to my surprise, the CM went in the back and came out with 2 cups filled with the drink for me! Of course, not all CM's go out of their way like this, but Irv always, always goes out of his way. If you don't know him (I can't remember if you've stayed CL there), then you will get to know him right away. He stands out.
Irv is GREAT!!! Always asking to get you something and never rushing you out of the lounge to clean. Loved having a beer to bring down to the pool whenever and the adult POG juice...YUM!!!!

You've made me a happy lady. We were spoiled rotten at SL last month. I've only been to Poly Cl one night with my girls before the refurb (maybe 2011 or 2012) and it was okay. I didn't get lei'd (and yes I am a little upset I had to ask bell services for lei's for my girls). We didn't get to enjoy the offerings except breakfast but I remember sitting on a couch staring out at the lagoon. DH likes laid back and chill, and he has always liked Poly. He's never really liked GF, but he knows I do. If DH can grab a beer during the day, it's all good and I'll have one happy hubby!!!

I'm planning for Poly CL the first week of August too! I haven't booked it yet, been so busy trying to concentrate on AKL for spring break. But I'm 99% sure we'll be there that week! :D
That would be awesome!!!! Counting on my friends here to help me hold strong at Poly!

Yes I remember that adult juice YUM! I'm not expecting the service we got at SL or BC CL, just hoping to have a great vacation. That lounge though, and a pool that you can see the castle, how can I lose :)

Thanks for all the happy Poly thoughts :)

Hubby actually admitted to being excited ;)

YAY!!

This was the selling point! The lounge views!! We have been booked in 2014 and 2015 for Poly CL, even got a free upgrade to LV CL however the construction scared me. I'm glad we didn't stay there the past two summers, but 2016 is the year :)

I told DH the same regarding BWI...it's for a December trip. I do love the Epcot side. And CR looks really cool too but the grounds aren't as pretty as GF and Poly IMO. So for a cool weather stay it would be great!!!

Totally!!

Love Sugarloaf! The lounge is small in comparison to the Main building at GF, but we prefer it. It is close to the Courtyard pool, and not far from either the main building or the boat dock. The offerings are plentiful, and there is always something out or they will get it for you. Our last visit the CM showed us where they kept the water bottles and said feel free to take what you want. It's got a friendly feel to it. If MK area is what you want, I recommend GF or Poly. If you like Epcot, we had a fab time at BC CL. When is your trip? And who's going, ages? We have 5 kids 7-15.
Thanks for the insight! Happy to hear your Sugarloaf trip was so positive. How are the rooms-renovated yet? We've stayed at GF but this is our first time doing CL. Looking forward to it!

In my opinion you can't beat the Poly or YC/BC in the summer. :beach: Then GF or WL in the winter. :santa:
We loved BC!! It is hard not to venture back to the Epcot side. That castle view from the Poly beach AHHHHHHHH

The rooms were recently redone, the pics on pg.1 show the décor. We had two rooms 6219 & 6221 (I think) Marina side, which were in tip top shape :)

The Poly is our favorite too and while the GF runs a very close second for me, the GF isn't at the top of the list for my DH and boys :rolleyes1. They don't hate the GF, but given the choice, they would pick Poly every time...lol.

Stay strong......keep Poly CL.....you will love it! :goodvibes

As pas posted, all of the rooms have been redone :). Hope you have a great CL stay!

That castle view from the Poly beach AHHHHHHHH

I am really looking forward to that view from the lounge when we stay Poly CL :cloud9:.

Good luck! Let us know what happens. We stayed at Poly last July and practically begged (lol) for the 4th FP texting service, but it was a no go. Would love to receive this perk at Poly especially considering how much we pay to stay CL!
Yes, please keep us posted. Hopefully it will be a go for our CL Poly stay in Aug.

Hello Everyone! I'm new to the DIS, but not new to WDW. I've taken 20+ trips- starting when I was very young. My boyfriend and I will be heading to WDW from 2/29 - 3/4, staying in a Garden Suite at the BWI for my 25th birthday! I am beyond excited to say the least- it's my boyfriend's first WDW trip too!

Does anybody have any recent experiences with the Garden Suites? I have done a bit of research, and I've read a lot of reviews of the lounge being quite far from the suites. I'm not too worried about that- we are a young couple with no kids, but I just want to be sure we take advantage of the CL offerings! Also- does anyone have any insight on the preference of the loft style bedroom or the closed off bedroom? I heard that there is only a balcony in the suites with a closed off bedroom. I am not sure which style suite to request.

Thank you for any insight! I love reading this thread. Thank you to everyone for their contributions- especially @TigrLvsPooh !

I stayed at BWI in November. I took pix of the gardens, so cute!

I remember researching these. One thing I noticed is that the rooms with a garden, open top floorplan have the TV on the far wall. My dh is a tv straight ahead guy:rolleyes1 so I would have picked the enclosed bedroom/balcony.

If me and dd did one of our mother/daughter trips I wouldn't care which. One has a 2nd floor balcony one a yard. Both of these would be nice.

Last, I did stay in a suite at CR in the garden area and had to hike to the lounge at CR tower. I simply told them where we were located and asked for help.

They gave me as many waters, milk for example so I didn't have to stop as often. I also asked if it was ok to walk around with a glass of wine and they gave me a full(opened) bottle to take to our room :thumbsup2

Have a great birthday! 25 is a good year.:goodvibes

Thanks so much for your help! Funny you mention the TV situation- I actually think my boyfriend would prefer the TV straight ahead as well. I also like the idea of having a balcony. I think I'm going to request the enclosed bedroom/balcony. I'll keep the CL advice in mind too- that's a great point about the waters. We are so excited for our trip- thanks again!

I do have one more question for anyone who is able to answer--- I just completed online check-in. Should I get a text when the room is ready, or do I have to wait until I actually arrive at the resort to get my room number? We land at 1pm or so at MCO and have a 6pm ADR at The Plaza, so I'm hoping we make it on time. I was planning on heading straight to our room if it's ready and freshen up quickly before heading to MK. Thanks!

You may get a text. Sometimes I do and some I don't. I did get a text staying at Cl at Cr so I know its possible. My aoa stay a few weeks ago i got the text while still on the plane :)

Has anyone written to AKL and gotten information on when all the reno will end and how/when it will effect CL? Thank you!

Congrats on your trip! We will be at the Inn Keepers club at the BWI from Feb. 26- March 3 so we may see you in the lounge. The cottages are really cute and remember to bring your swim suits because the quiet pool is right in your front yard. To get to the lounge there is a stair way tucked in between the cottages that you can use your Magic bands to enter the door. It is 4 floors up so you can work off whatever you eat in the lounge by hiking up and down the stairs:) When you get to the fourth floor open the inner door and take a left down the hallway to the lounge. We use these stairs often when we head to the pool and find them to come in very handy. Most of the time the pool is empty or almost so and since you are staying in the cottages it will seem like your own private pool.

If they forget to give you one make sure you ask for your happy birthday button and wear it in the parks. We did this one year for my husband and he was amazed at all the cast members who yelled happy birthday to him, some of them were from such a distance that he couldn't believe they could even see it. We had a lot of fun with it! Any questions ask away.

I see you were asking about text's for room check in and we have had poor luck with that, never getting a text in four different trips to the BWI. This time we will be doing a split stay first arriving at the GF on Feb.23 and then switching so we will see if we get a text at either place this time around.

I can't answer your questions as we've never stayed at BWI, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great trip! :wizard:

I can't help, but hopefully others with upcoming trips to AKL will be able to provide some details :flower3:.
