Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Here at the Poly CL right now.....sorry, no texting for 4th FP at the moment. We did have it at the GF last trip however.

As an aside, we are sitting by the main pool and there is zero impact from the construction. It is wonderful sipping on a POG poolside watching the kiddies play.

Sounds like you are having a good time :goodvibes. Glad construction isn't an issue.

So, I switched our Sugarloaf summer to Poly CL this afternoon. DH is happy, the kids are happy. I know that we won't have the same "magic" we had at Sugarloaf last month, but Poly in the summer seems divine. My girls just want to be in that CL lounge watching Wishes :)

Our dates will be 8/6-8/14. We are at Treasure Island (Gulf beach) and then Hard Rock CL (Universal) 8/2-8/6.

Is it summer yet???

Yay for Poly CL! I'm sure everyone will have a great time ::yes::.

Hello all.. We are home from our 5 day CR stay. I was nervous because I had read mixed reviews but happy to say it was awesome!

Every CL CM was fantastic and very helpful. Used the 4th FP text service and loved having the CMs at the touch of my text.

We arrived at 9:30am and our room was ready about 11:30. We had room 4819 overlooking Bay Lake on the Northern side of the A frame. Very nice location.

I totally understand why everyone hates those sinks.. They don't drain and there is no counterspace. We actually used one sink as a "dry" sink and put all our makeup and etc there and only used one for water. It worked fantastic and gave us more space.

One thing I was NOT happy about was this morning on check out. I didn't get my bill on the door. Turns out, they emailed it to my travel agent. Thankfully, she is my good friend and I don't care, but I could see someone getting mad about financial stuff being sent to someone.

Poly CL is really nice during the summer. The lounge is so convenient to the pools and it's nice to be able to watch the fireworks from the CL lounge!

Yes, those sinks are infamous! LOL,

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at the CR!

Yes, we are having a great time, but alas, it is all over tomorrow and we will be heading back to reality.

The Poly is just as special as ever! Sitting in the lounge with a few pre dinner hors d'oeuvres. Yum!

Ok, looks like I messed up on the quote! LOL

So are the fluffy robes not standard at CR CL? I'm just curious because I think I remember you saying housekeeping upgraded them for you. I had the fluffy robes last month at BWI CL and thought maybe they were standard at all CLs now, but maybe they were just being nice because we were there without our kids?? I'm glad you had a great time at CR! I haven't been to CR in years for a couple of reasons...the sinks/lack of counter space (as you mentioned) being one and the somewhat ordinary pool being another, but this time of year when it's too cold to swim, I think it would be really nice to try:) The views are so nice on either side there, and the pics of food I've seen look pretty good!

That is exactly why we stayed there.. Too cold for the pools and 2 hot tubs were nice when the sun was out.

We had the robes at GL CL last Febrary and loved them. When we went to BC in May, they just had the regular waffle robes. I saw a housekeeper in the elevator holding one and she said they were only in suites at BC but she would bring us 2 and slippers.
I asked our Houskeeper on Friday if we could get the soft robes, when we came back from dinner, they were hanging in the closet.

I can't wait to try Poly CL later this year. We loved the convenience of Samoa for the pool, so I can imagine how nice it is staying CL for not only convenient pool access, but also having quick access to the lounge :goodvibes.

I'm sorry your trip is coming to an end, but that's just more reason to start planning the next one ::yes::.

Hope you are enjoying your time in the lounge before dinner :).

Hubby actually admitted to being excited ;)

YAY!!

This was the selling point! The lounge views!! We have been booked in 2014 and 2015 for Poly CL, even got a free upgrade to LV CL however the construction scared me. I'm glad we didn't stay there the past two summers, but 2016 is the year :)

I told DH the same regarding BWI...it's for a December trip. I do love the Epcot side. And CR looks really cool too but the grounds aren't as pretty as GF and Poly IMO. So for a cool weather stay it would be great!!!

Totally!!

We are slated for GF CL Sugarloaf. Opinions please! Alternatives?
Love Sugarloaf! The lounge is small in comparison to the Main building at GF, but we prefer it. It is close to the Courtyard pool, and not far from either the main building or the boat dock. The offerings are plentiful, and there is always something out or they will get it for you. Our last visit the CM showed us where they kept the water bottles and said feel free to take what you want. It's got a friendly feel to it. If MK area is what you want, I recommend GF or Poly. If you like Epcot, we had a fab time at BC CL. When is your trip? And who's going, ages? We have 5 kids 7-15.

I prefer RPC to SL, but SL does have an advantage if you will be spending some time at the courtyard pool. The SL building is located just steps away from the pool and is convenient for grabbing snacks/drinks while relaxing pool side. I'm sure you'll have a great time :goodvibes.

Glad your hubby is excited! I know everyone will have a great time! :yay:

Has anyone had any luck calling the IPO to request being added to text service while staying at the Poly? I am going to give that a shot for our late April trip.

Can I do the online check in for GF sugar loaf? Or do we have to check in at concierge desk? also, I booked a room for my parents that are arriving the next day, can I check them in or Will they have to check in when they arrive the next day? Thought it would be nice to have them all checked in so we can go straight to park when they arrive in the morning.

Good luck! Let us know what happens. We stayed at Poly last July and practically begged (lol) for the 4th FP texting service, but it was a no go. Would love to receive this perk at Poly especially considering how much we pay to stay CL!

Your hubby sounds like mine. We LOVE the Poly CL -- honestly, it's so relaxed there and the views are to die for. DH loves grabbing a beer whenever he wants one (no alcohol servers there) and the CM's are always so willing to go in the back and get whatever you want. We were going to the pool one afternoon and we stopped in the lounge to get some drinks...DH got his beer and the CM asked if I wanted one too and I said no and that I really only like the special adult pog juice they make at night so I'd be back in the lounge at 5:00. Much to my surprise, the CM went in the back and came out with 2 cups filled with the drink for me! Of course, not all CM's go out of their way like this, but Irv always, always goes out of his way. If you don't know him (I can't remember if you've stayed CL there), then you will get to know him right away. He stands out.

Everyone can do online check-in. Most will receive "direct to room" text messages but in some cases it can be hit or miss. We walked off DME and straight to our room at Sugarloaf in December with no problems. I've also experienced direct to room at several other resorts. The key to successful online check-in is to meticulously complete the information line by line checking to make sure everything is accurate. Correct address, make sure the city/state and zip code are correct, accurate and up to date credit card info with available credit, working cell phone number, PIN numbers assigned to every guest, Magic Bands received and active, etc. Now, the down side to all of this is that for whatever magical pixie dust reason it doesn't always work. I would estimate about 1 out of every 20 guests doesn't receive their room ready text. Usually when I log-in I can find the reason, probably the most common is the credit card info. I always tell people if you completed online check-in and don't hear something by 3:00 PM then it's not going to work so go ahead to the front desk and get your room #. A lot of people still prefer to go to the front desk when they first arrive anyway (regardless of the room ready text) because they like to pickup a parking pass, get a welcome packet with the times guide and resort map, ask questions, inquire about room assignment, etc. I think the Disney veterans are the ones who really benefit the most from direct to room because we feel confident going to the park first. Heck when I stayed at CSR in October I never even went to the main building the whole time we were there. Direct to room on day one and no reason to even go down there at all. Love that! :thumbsup2 I think first timers feel more secure going to the hotel front desk when they arrive because they need that initial welcome and interaction to reassure them they're doing the right thing. :)

I surprises me that the Poly wouldn't be included, I keep thinking they'll add them in.

How/when do we get the 4th FP? I'm assuming only after the original 3 have been used? What's the advantage? Will be at GF Club

Once you have used the first 3 just send a text to the number provided and let them know what you want. It can be in any park, you don't have to already be there. I usually type my message like this: "Hi this is Erika Murphy, room #### , we'd like 3 fastpasses for Peter Pan around 6:00 PM if possible". Then they'll write back and let me know if they can do it or not. Sometimes they'll respond something like "Mrs. Murphy we have scheduled 3 fastpasses for you at Peter Pan for 8:00 PM because that is the earliest available time". Or they might say something like "I'm sorry Mrs. Murphy all fastpasses for Peter Pan have been distributed for today we can offer It's a Small World at 6:00 PM, text back if you'd like us to book that for you". Same goes with Dining reservations requests. They are very nice, helpful, friendly people. Just make sure your first text always contains your name and room #. :D

We are staying poly cl this spring but booked with a ta. Will we hear from ipo also or will everything go through the ta?

You'll need to contact IPO yourself. Contact email and phone number is on page 1. :)

Hi Erika, I was hoping you'd pipe in on this. I'm going to call IPO this morning, too bad because I prefer just emailing...but here's the email I received after I emailed them with my info and saying I did online check-in so confirming I'd get a text regarding my room:

Good Afternoon _____ Family,

We thank you for your email. We have noted your room request with a full balcony on your resort reservation. Please be aware this is just a request and it's not guaranteed but we do try our best to accommodate. The Standard Rooms in the Main Building do have day beds.

We also noted that you are celebrating both _______ and _______ Birthdays.

The resort check-out is at 11am and check-in is at 3pm. Sadly, the only way the system will send a guest a rooms ready notification is when the guest had physically come to the resort and checked in--this is when the text notifications is setup.

Have a GRAND afternoon.

I know for a fact this is wrong because every single room ready text I've ever gotten has been before I arrived at the hotel. Usually I'm at the airport or on DME when it comes. :)

Hi all, just wanted to say thanks to the folks who responded several pages back when I was debating changing my reservation from SL to RPC for my upcoming trip. I appreciate everyone's insight and opinions. Ultimately I did switch to RPC. This will be our first stay at GF and I'm not convinced it'll be a repeat destination based on our family's style, age of kids, etc (or maybe my Poly love), so figured go big or go home, right? Anyway, very excited to try something new and round out our MK resort experiences.

For you GF RPC pros, are there any common room requests I should keep in mind that would be beneficial? View direction, location relative to lounge? I am in a standard room category. This trip will just be me and DS5 (boys trip) and we are pretty low maintenance Disney travelers. Thanks in advance.

Enjoy RPC! It is definitely a special experience. I've only been once but would love to go again!

Hi everyone,

I'm finally staying Club Level!!! I just booked GV CL at BC for August (17-24). Surprising my sister, niece and nephew with it. I'm so excited.

Congratulations!!! :D Would you like to be added to our CL guest list on page 1?

We are staying club level for our first time - at the end of our first every split stay as well. We will be at YC CL May 22nd-24th!! Thanks for all of the great tips, etc!

Great choice!!!! :) Would you like to be added to our CL guest list on page 1?

So, I switched our Sugarloaf summer to Poly CL this afternoon. DH is happy, the kids are happy. I know that we won't have the same "magic" we had at Sugarloaf last month, but Poly in the summer seems divine. My girls just want to be in that CL lounge watching Wishes :)

Our dates will be 8/6-8/14. We are at Treasure Island (Gulf beach) and then Hard Rock CL (Universal) 8/2-8/6.

Is it summer yet???

I'm planning for Poly CL the first week of August too! I haven't booked it yet, been so busy trying to concentrate on AKL for spring break. But I'm 99% sure we'll be there that week! :D

I do the same thing with my makeup bag! They really need to change those sinks. :goodvibes
