Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Yes! Until midnight (actually when the lounge closes approx 10pm)

This is what I figured/was hoping. I know you can use the pools after checking out.

I'm going to gently disagree with the yes. Guests can use the CL lounge on their checkout day certainly. (Usually while waiting for transport to the airport.)
Once you check in to another resort or same resort (non club level room) your access to the earlier CL ends. Your bands should be programmed for your new room, and won't give you elevator access to CL.

I was thinking this was the case, but wasn't sure so I didn't want to answer and give wrong information ;). Would you still have CL/elevator access if you didn't check into the new room right away (i.e., waiting until later in the evening to check in)? The only negative with doing that is you would be without a room for the day, but that could happen anyway if your room isn't available early.

I didn't think about the magicband/elevator issue. That makes sense. I plan to pack in the morning and then head to Magic Kindgom so we probably won't be back until evening anyways.

It's not a make or break I was just curious how that worked. Thank you everyone!

Question about CL the day you check out. Are you able to use the club lounge the whole day, even after you check out?

We booked CL at the Beach Club and ended up adding a day (yay!) but couldn't get a room with CL. We are still at the Beach Club so I was wondering if we could go up for dessert (and a glass of wine!) in the evening. Thanks!
I was told by CL that we had the whole day. I checked out and moved to a non-Disney hotel but returned for apps that evening and didn't have any issue.

Maybe if I rephrase this, someone will have an answer. What are your thoughts on staying CL but your room or suite is on another floor? We love the CL lounge, we use it for a quick breakfast, snacks pre or post afternoon swimming and for drinks and snacks before heading to the parks for the evening. Our trip this year, we have a 1 Bedroom suite booked at the BC. Not sure what floor we will be on, but it won't be the CL floor. Has anyone done this and how big a deterrent, if any, was it to frequent the lounge? TIA
I stayed in the Cottages at BWI which was a hike to the lounge. It was okay. I'd say there was an afternoon and later night that we would have gone to the lounge for a drink but decided not to huff it. We didn't need it though. We really did like being in the cute cottages so it was worth it. :)

We have been on CL at BC both ways, and didn't mind being on a different floor. I imagine if you have a mobility issue, or many kids in tow, or just don't like the hike (who could blame you!) then it might be a pain to be on a different floor. But we liked it. For breakfast we would just eat there, and I have no qualms about dragging a snack back to the room or popping up for a cup of coffee. It would not deter me, but YMMV.

The only time we have had this type of setup was at AKL CL, and it was fine. In fact, it's a favorite for my family. It's not as convenient as staying on the same floor (but then again we have had the farthest room from the lounge at the BC and that was quite a hike even though we were on the same floor). You will gain so much room with the suite that I think it would be worth the walk (but then, how long will the walk be? If the suite is by the main elevator it will be much easier to get to/from the lounge than if it's way down one of those long corridors).

This is sad but I can't quite remember the layout of the BC. From what I have been told, there are basically two 1 bedroom suites per floor on floors 1-4 and they are #_647 and #_501. I think I remember that 1501 is the one by the back door to the International Walkway and there is a single elevator over there, however I do not think it goes to the 5th floor. That may be a hike I do not want to make after a long day at the park. The other suites, at 647 are very near the bank of elevators if I recall correctly. Does anyone know this for sure?

Hey gang! I booked AKL CL for March (just Nic and I again this time) and I've already received my welcome letter from IPO. Is it crazy that I'm here in WDW right now and already looking forward to the next trip??? :rolleyes1:love::tongue: This is going to be VERY interesting because my son's girlfriend and her family are also going to WDW that week and staying at AKL. She is OBSESSED with animals and wants to major in something like marine biology. So this will be a very special trip for her. I'm planning to surprise the kids with the Wild Africa Trek and/or Night Safari, so that's going to be amazing. :sunny:

I still owe you guys full reports from GF SL and BC CL. I will start working on those asap! If anyone has any questions about either please let me know. :D

How exciting! Will be staying at akl club in October so looking forward to your report( and loving your current one)

Yes, that is correct. The elevator that is near room 1501 does not go to the club level floor, since that section of the resort is only four floors high and club level is the fifth floor. So anyone in one of the deluxe suites would have to walk to the main elevators to get to club level. For some guests that could be a bit of a walk, since the deluxe rooms, as far as I know, are on the corners of the wings of the resort. But it wouldn't be much further than a non-club level guest going to the Marketplace for food, if you want to look at it that way.

Thanks, Sue, that is how I am going to view it. I remember getting on that single elevator to go to the 5th floor one afternoon after an exhausting, rain soaked day at Epcot. We got on with a couple going to the 4th floor and it wasn't until the doors closed that we realized there was no 5th floor. I can remember standing there, practically dripping, tired and hungry wanting to cry before we all started laughing hysterically. And instead of getting off on the 4th floor, walking to the main elevators and then going up a floor, we stupidly rode it back down and then went to the main elevators. Not sure why now but it made perfect sense at the time.

Ive still got some time, as we are going in October but I think for a 13 day stay, the extra space will be needed for my crew. My boys will be 10 & 12 and I just had dreams of being able to send them a few doors down to the lounge to get a snack while I relaxed. They are such well behaved and respectful boys but I would never dream of letting them go by themselves if the lounge is on another floor. Then again, I am unsure of the policy and they may not be allowed without parental supervision anyway.

One more quick question, has anyone ever stayed in room #1501 or one close by? I know in past rooms the noise in the hallways is a little more apparent than in other resorts, but is it incredibly noisy with the "secret" door right there? I am intrigued with being able to exit my room and literally be on my way to Food & Wine.

We stayed in 1501 one night on a pixie dust upgrade. It did feel a little like Grand Central Station with all the people walking past the room. And then it seemed like everyone who used that door had to talk as they walked past. It was noisy there but once the Epcot crowd went home for the night, it was a lot quieter. :)

I have a question for CR peeps...Does the 14th floor have regular rooms? It looks like there are 1 or 2 and just wondered if you can be put on that floor.

I requested Tower Club, but they said they are all suites..wonder if that map is old??
Anyone know the answer?

Anyone know the answer?

There are 5 standard rooms on the 14th floor. 2 king rooms and 3 queen. The king rooms are both MK view, the queen rooms are split, with one having a MK view and the other two a lake view. The rest of the floor is suites.

I need to gloat/celebrate/do a victory dance somewhere and I think DH would slay me for telling the 8 year old this far out.

Booked 4 nights in a standard CL room at the Beach Club and then 3 nights in a Main Building Theme Park View Room CL at the Grand Floridian for our summer trip. I'm so happy I could burst.

Don't quote me.. but for some reason I think there are a couple of king bed rooms up there. Maybe our fearless leader knows for sure.

Hi there! Haven't seen you around the boards in awhile, hope you're planning a trip! I think we said hello at BWI a few years ago. :goodvibes

Hi Gwynne,
Yes it has been some time that I have been on the boards and yes we did meet. We were last at the BWI in May. We are going to the Daytona 500 to kick off my big birthday celebration in July. The BWI didn't have any availability so we are heading back to the Beach Club CL. Do you have any upcoming trips?

Thank you

That sounds awesome!!! Happy planning!

Someone asked about the best CL a while back, and I thought I'd throw in our two cents! We've stayed at all the deluxe resorts and all the CLs except for YC. Right now, we'd say WL CL overall. That's based on the atmosphere, lounge set up (love the tables that are both spread out and overlooking the lobby) and the friendly, genuinely helpful but not in-your-face CMs. In our opinion, BC and RPC win for food offerings. But our final decisions are a mix of resort and resort CL (if we're staying CL) so we still love to stay at a number of different resorts based on the discounts available, length of stay, purpose of the trip, etc.

The things I liked better about RPC- you get to hear the piano and band from the lounge and some of the rooms. Best part personally!! Then 2nd for me is once you've returned via monorail or bus, it's a quick walk to your room. (It is further though from the boat...)

I enjoyed RPC much more than I expected before staying there. And the band/piano is one of the reasons! Walking out of the room, to the room, and around the lounge was just plain relaxing. Probably one of the most relaxing to-and-fro room experiences at WDW. And for our RPC stay last year, I was traveling on my own with our three boys just days before I ran the WDW marathon. So saying that it was relaxing means a lot! Our boys don't love GF, so we're not likely to stay there in the near future, but I was so glad we decided to stay in the main building.

We're staying in a CL 1 Bdrm suite at BC from Oct 1-13. I've stayed CL before but this will be the first time that we are staying in a room that is not actually on the CL floor. Can I get some advice here? We like the extra room that a 1 bedroom suite offers but I can't decide if it is worth the extra "travel" to get to the lounge and the concierge desk. We use the lounge every morning for a quick breakfast so that we can schedule our character breakfasts later in the morning. We spend our afternoons at the pool, so we do stop by and get snacks and drinks before and after pool time, and sometimes before or after our evening park visits, so we do make use of the lounge quite a bit.

For anyone who has stayed in a room on another level, what are your thoughts? TIA

We've stayed at BC several times, including stays in a regular CL room, a deluxe CL room (another floor) and a 2-bedroom suite. My parents stayed in the one-bedroom suite one trip. So in our experience, it's a bit of a hike. We actually declined a complimentary upgrade from a regular CL room to a deluxe CL room at BC last year because we really wanted to be on the same floor as the lounge. It's not the walking - I'm a runner and I don't mind walking around at the parks or the resorts. It's just that when going to the lounge for coffee or a quick snack, it's nice to have it nearby. Also, the CMs seem to recognize us more easily when we're on the same floor. A friend of mine also stayed in the 2-bedroom suite at BC with her family and we agreed the CL CMs would always do a double-take when we walked into the lounge from the elevator. Not that they have been overly friendly when we've stayed on the same floor as the lounge at BC, but it's just a little bit more comfortable.

I should add that having a room on a different floor was a negative at AKL - not very convenient. But at RPC, we didn't mind at all. We could see the lounge from the exterior of our room door, so it was really just around the corner and up the short, carpeted stairs.

Your birthday celebration plans sound wonderful!:cake: I hope you have a lovely vacation. :daisy:
We are planning two trips this year. We're going to Flower and Garden in April, and staying YC CL. In Oct we will be staying BWI CL for Food and Wine. It's a special festival year for us, and we are so excited. :flower1:

I've noticed it's getting much harder to get reservations at BWI CL. Guess the word about how wonderful it is has gotten out!:D

I emailed WL IPO to ask about construction and they confirmed the elevator closures and said the lounge will be in the vice presidential suite.
