Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

This will be his one and only time, so it's a lot of pressure!

I'm thinking while we're at the GF over Christmas maybe I can talk to someone about connecting rooms in the RPC. I really need the equivalent of 3 rooms, a king bed for Dad, another room with two queens for sister and caregiver, then a room for me and the kids. But somehow all together??
TigrLvsPooh we stayed back in 1999 in exactly what you are looking for at the GF main building. We had requested 2 connecting rooms for a family trip main building CL. when we arrived we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom suite on the fifth floor. I don't know what the cost of theses rooms were because it was a free upgrade and it was a couple of rooms together to make up a suite. It started on the left with a 2 queen bedroom and a large living room that had 2 bathrooms. Then a connecting door opened up to a King bedroom and another connecting door to a bedroom with 2 Queen beds. I think the whole suite had five bathrooms and we had 4 balconies that looked towards the Poly. I never took any photos but it was a great group of rooms and would be just what you had in mind. I think the sofa in the living room opened up to a bed as well but we didn't need it so not sure on that. We had 6 adults and 3 children under 10 in our group.

The 2 bedroom suite at CR? MK view!

The suites at CR are larger than at GF. Lots of elevators for the wheelchair too. Tower Club would be nice for all.
I'm glad you added in the info for Erika, Trish! I've never stayed at CR but it's never "wowed" me. But the 14th floor may be perfect for them. Not as many people up there right? I do think that 2 connecting rooms is doable and a third for Erika and the boys could be nearby. How exciting!!

Definitely she'll want to be with Dad. My room wouldn't need to connect as long as it was close. I need to research RPC with a wheelchair and make sure it will work OK. I know some rooms aren't on the same level as the lounge and they have that separate elevator/hallway.
My dad HATES Disney, but when they went with us several years ago, he loved GF. I know that 4419 in RPC is HA and connects to 4420. These are very large deluxe rooms with two Queen beds and a Queen size pullout sofa. They both have wet bars with a mirror and an extra sink too. The HA has a huge roll-in shower and 4420 has a large soaker tub:) They are the first two rooms in the hallway directly off the lounge, so this would be very convenient. I think getting a room with a King bed may be more difficult since all six king turret rooms do not connect with another room. I don't know if any on the second floor king rooms connect, but I wouldn't want to be on the second floor. To get the king bed, perhaps you would have to get a suite?? Plus Disney doesn't guarantee connecting rooms, as you know, but surely they would make an exception under your circumstances. I haven't stayed at CR CL, but I'm sure Trish is right about it being great. But the nice thing about RPC is that you would at least have the band to entertain you in the evening. I do think the monorail is pretty easy with a wheelchair (we traveled with my MIL on a scooter a while back). Good luck with your decision! Keep us posted!

That sounds great! Is that on 14? I need to research that, I can picture my Dad at the CR for sure. :D

Oh my gosh that sounds amazing!! That really would be perfect. I bet the price tag is frightening! I don't even think I can see that suite pricing online anywhere, I would have to call. I wonder if it was the Grand suite? Or maybe the Walt or Roy? Do you remember if it had a name?

The kids and I could even stay down on 12 if availability is tough to get. I like the idea of a smaller more quiet floor for them. My sister doesn't do well with a lot of chaos so the fewer people the better. I need to call and find out what kinds of options they have for connecting!

Those two rooms sound perfect! I definitely need to talk to someone face to face next time I'm down there to see what kind of magic I can accomplish once I explain the situation with my sister and how important it is to have connecting rooms. She has a seizure disorder and I could easily get a doctor's letter explaining the importance of having her connected to Dad. This is why they never travel, it's going to take every minute of the next year and a half to work this out. My goal is to make it completely seamless and easy on both of them. I just want everything to be perfect. :lovestruc

Definitely call! I called to ask about a room for all of us instead of 2 connecting, and I somehow ended up booked in a suite (which I changed once I came off of my cloud LOL). It was at GF RPC and not on the website, it was also available with a BB rate (I think the rate for a regular CL room was 35% and like 10% for suites)...it's something though :) I am anxious to hear all of the planning over the next year. If anywhere is a good place to travel with special needs, it really is WDW (JMHO of course).

I know how exciting yet stressful the planning will be for you! The good news is, the two rooms directly below those...4319 and 4320...are exactly the same set-up, so I would hope that they would reserve those 4th floor rooms for you since your sister has a legitimate need!

No it didn't have a name and I think it was two or three separate rooms that with the connecting doors made it a large gathering type set of rooms. This was before I knew about taking pictures and writing things down like we do now. I still kick myself! I know we had at least two and maybe three different entry ways. The room with queen beds and the living room was meant to go together but I think the other two could be single rooms. All four balconies looked over the beach and looked towards the Poly. We stayed three nights and over the years this has been the only upgrade we ever got but we hit the lottery of upgrades! I remember when we checked in and they told us our room numbers I was shocked and said" but that's on the suites floor". The cast member smiled and said she hoped we would be more comfortable this way than trying to fit us into two rooms. No kidding!

ATTENTION CL GUESTS!!! :wave2:

We have a lot of people traveling this fall to various resorts on CL, so if you notice new information that needs to be added to page 1 please let me know. Also I'd love new lounge and room photos anytime you notice a change. I'm still looking for photos of the new chef station at the AKL CL lounge during evening appetizers. :thumbsup2

Need anything from BC CL ?let me know!

I'm glad I waited to try it with all the new updates to room and lounge:)

One thing I didn't get a picture of at BC CL was the beer and wine area. It's hard to find a moment when the CM isn't standing right in front of it blocking the view! :rotfl:

haha you should've seen how fast a bunch of people were when the CM stepped away for a moment one night! Everyone was obviously thinking the same thing and they grabbed a beer and ran -- lol :rotfl:

Oh is the secret entrance i often hear about anything i would use from the 5ht floor rooms?

Any help with the resort would be helpful since it is my first trip.

I stayed at YC once in 2010 so i am familiar with the pool (ish).

You can take the secret entrance and walk through the hotel to the main elevators. But we don't usually do that unless it's raining or storming. :)

General BC tips: The laundry machines only take credit cards now, no coins. Beaches and Cream takes ADRs now but you can still get ice cream and sundaes from the to-go line. Try the Milky Way sundae, it is awesome!!!!!!!! :D If you happen to miss the club lounge closing at 10:00 PM you can still buy drinks down in the Marketplace. Inevitably that always happens to me so I've trained myself to keep extra drinks in our room fridge. Plus sometimes I just get a craving for a vitamin water or something not offered in the lounge, so I'll buy a few downstairs and keep them in the fridge too. :)
