Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I've only stayed BWI and Poly CL but my family agrees that the food is not that exciting; it's more of a convenience factor. I really want to try GF RPC and WL as those two seem to get a lot of good reviews.

That's how we see CL, we like it more for the convenience than the food.

I hope you get to try WL CL and GF RPC as both are amazing! RPC is my favorite, but WL CL runs a very close second for me. Both clubs have nice lounges with plenty of room to spread out as well as awesome CMs :goodvibes.

At AKL, one of the most fabulous CMs (Misty) on our first day there in the early afternoon, told us about the Tusker beer they had, and MADE US (in a totally friendly way!!) take a few back to our room so we could have one whenever we wanted. And then stressed that if we wanted more, and it wasnt technically time yet, to just ask and someone would be happy to get us a few. I'm just amazed at how different some CMs can be.

I agree about how different the CL CMs can be. Your experience at AKL CL was the same as what we experienced at WL CL and GF RPC. The CMs constantly told us to let them know if there was anything we needed and if we wanted something that wasn't out (or it wasn't during the offering time) to just ask :).

Hi, mickeynut1 ! I don't know where those suites are located... I looked on the touring plans room finder map thing, and they seem to be at the ends of the hallways that are half-way down the 2 trails, but I've never seen the suites personally. Once you are booked, you can call IPO and ask them, but then that makes it hard when you just want to know what to book in the first place. BTW, we really, really like the CL at AKL. <3

Hey there :wave2:.......thanks for looking up the suites on touring plans :flower3:. I've never considered a suite due to the cost, but when I saw it was comparable to RPC, I thought it might be something to consider. With that said, I'm thinking suites usually aren't included in discounts, so the chances of me booking it are pretty slim....lol....but it never hurts to research. I remember you really liking AKL CL. It does get a lot of great reviews and while some people don't like how isolated AKL is, that's one of the things I like most about it. Being out away from everything makes it very peaceful and quiet, IMO, and I do like how the lounge overlooks the lobby just like WL CL :).

I'm now feeling a LOT of mixed emotions about our upcoming Poly CL stay. After reading the recent reviews about the lacklaster/mediocre offerings in the lounge, the pool hopping situation and everything else in between, I decided to call IPO with a few questions. Now, take this with a grain of salt because we all know how much stock to take in what CM's say but....

I asked about protein offerings in the morning such as hard boiled eggs. The woman I spoke with did confirm there are no protein offerings (not that I didn't believe anyone's recent reviews). She then said if a guest wanted protein for breakfast, such as hard boiled eggs, they (IPO) could make a note of it on their reservation and that the guest should also talk to the chef during the evening offerings and they would get them for that person the next morning and each morning if need be. As much as a total carb breakfast is tempting, I honestly cannot do that everyday or I'll literally be sick for most of my trip. Whether or not this is an actual option, don't know, BUT I decided I will put that to the test and promise to report back after our trip next month.

Another thing I brought up was the impact on the ground floor rooms in other buildings and how I would be concerned if I got stuck with a ground floor room and couldn't use the patio. This is what she then said (again, take with a grain of salt)...she said by the time we check in to our GV CL room on 8/14, we wouldn't have an option for a ground floor because all the ground floor CL rooms facing the east pool will be taken out of inventory by then. This concerned me even more because I then asked if those rooms were being taken out of inventory because of possible disruption, wouldn't the same be true for the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors too? All she said at that point, was how they shouldn't be because they sit higher up...ummmm, while I haven't physically stayed at this resort before, we have visited often and the longhouses aren't that tall IMHO to make that much of a difference.

Oh, me thinks this is going to be a very interesting trip...maybe I should just beg to stay at the CR instead of switching over to the Poly for the second half of our stay as planned :worried:.

I'm surprised to hear they would take 1st floor rooms out of inventory. By the looks of the pictures I saw on tikiman there's a big space between Hawaii and the construction fence. Unless maybe that's just a temporary fence and it's going to be moved closer. The news just keeps getting worse and worse for Poly CL. :(

Weird question -- is it considered strange or bad form to tell the IPO about birthday celebrations for adults? We're staying at BC CL exactly between DH's and my birthdays (I'm August, he's the same day in October, we'll be there that day in September). We don't usually make a big deal of birthdays, but this is a big one (40!). It'd be kind of fun to have birthday buttons. They didn't ask when we booked if we were celebrating anything and I can't remember if they ask when you do online checkin (which I was going to skip anyway).

Definitely not! :D I always tell them when it's my birthday! Sometimes I've gotten some really awesome gifts and surprises. :thumbsup2

I am not sure if they will take the Hawaii GV first floor out of inventory. They fence is to the south of the path

Like we all know, you can never 100% count on what CM's say but that's what she did say yesterday. In any case, I'll see for myself soon enough.

Yesterday, I was "spinning" about our upcoming Poly CL stay, today, I'm back to normal :upsidedow and still very much looking forward to trying the resort out for the 1st time. And if I'm not happy once we get there, I'll deal with it then...it's all good!!

It must've been "Question your decision to stay at the Polynesian CL", because I went through the same thing! Now I'm happy again about it and looking forward to being back to my happiest place at WDW. :sunny:

And I think that if they do take the ground floor garden view rooms out of inventory, it's a good thing. ::yes::

I agree about information from CMs, you can call 5 times and get 5 different answers :headache:.

Glad you decided to stick with the Poly. I think you'll have a great time :).

I don't think it's strange at all! My DH and I don't have kids and when we go to WDW we always note our birthdays if it falls during the time we are there or if the trip is to celebrate a birthday! We don't expect much but have gotten little surprises on our trips!

Me too! I started thinking maybe I should check out other resorts, then realized the kids won't be happy with anything but the Poly! We tend to be less picky than the average person anyway, so I don't think it will bother us as much as it might someone else. Honestly, the main thing I'm disappointed in is that the view from the beach is now obstructed with the bungalows - I can deal with the construction!

I had to call the Poly IPO about an issue I was having with the on-line check in. The CM said the same as mentioned above in this thread...first floor GV CL rooms to be taken out of service starting next week. Guests to be moved to the 2nd and 3rd floor. He volunteered this information, I did not have to ask.

There are going to be some unhappy guests when that happens. Nobody likes the 2nd floor.
