Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

The poly CL was a huge disappointment for us too. We must have had the one CM that felt put out when ever we asked for a beer. She was obviously doing us a favor! The food I had heard rave reviews about was laughable. Goldfish and gummy worms for snacks? Nothing for adults. We were thankful we didn't need to snack there. The only good thing was the theme park view room but since it was on first level our chairs would get stolen from people wanting to watch fireworks! We had to call to housekeeping to find some chairs so WE could enjoy them. I love love LOVE the poly but you can have the CL there

Totally agree. We found the food lackluster at best (and, yes, the "snacks" were the worst part), but the TPV from our 3rd floor room was wonderful, as was the location of the Hawaii building in general. With those bungalows all along the waterfront I'm less inclined to go back...

I thought the snacks were pretty much only Goldfish and some sort of Gummy worms at every CL?
Am I wrong?

I do think they have that at each CL.. It wasn't the snacks I was so concerned about.. It was the Costco quality breakfast and evening offerings.. BCCL was so amazing in May.. And GF is amazing too

Well for what they charge they should definitely do a bit better...some Mickey Waffles shouldn't be too hard to bring out... hard boiled eggs are easy...
and as for the snacks... There should definitely also be a few other/more/different offers :(

I really wonder how BC and CF Tower will be...

I actually have another question for you all -

I know it seems "frowned" upon to load your plate full... since the offerings are not meant to be a full meal...

Lets say I try the chicken skewers and the xxx dessert... really, really like it... Would it be totally inappropriate to go back for another serving and again for another? I know it is kind of the same as "loading up" - just more spread out... but what if something is just yummy?

I have no intentions to make any offering a "meal" (other than breakfast...but we aren't big breakfast eaters anyways so we will eat a croissant or something and be on our way) so it is not that I plan on over doing it for the sake of "saving money" ... we have TS meals planned every night anyways but I just kept thinking about how bad I would look going for a secong serving of a certain thing...

I don't think that is bad. We had several TS meals and the luau booked, so I never saw the evening desserts.. I don't mind people filling their plates, but when they load up a plate then leave half of it untouched, that makes me angry.

Also, Pog justice should be a morning staple.. It was amazing!!

For the most part, that's what we've found. I remember both AKL and GF having more/better options mid-day.

Man! Now I'm feeling nervous about staying at the Poly! It's a lot of money to pay for mediocre food and a ton of noise! I looked at switching today, but basically everything is booked up for our stay.

We were recently staying on the CL at the GF in the main building. Mid-day snacks included Goldfish, gummy worms, fresh veggies and multiple dips, roasted zucchini/eggplant and cherry tomatoes, cold meats and cheeses; delicious breads, chips, breadsticks; pretzels, crackers, delicious cookies; coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, assorted soft drinks.

The Polynesian used to have WONDERFUL food options in the CL lounge every evening. It's extremely disappointing to see what they're serving there now.

I used to be bummed about missing the appetizers when we had an early ADR, but I guess I won't be feeling like that next month. :rolleyes2

At YC, we had potato chips made on site. They were amazing. I've stayed CL at the Poly and AKL, too, but only at YC was I compelled to go over for the afternoon snacks.

A LOT of people get seconds...or thirds, LOL. We certainly do if something is good! Also, if we want to stay at the hotel and swim one night, we will just grab a couple of QS meals to supplement the appetizers. Sometimes you just don't want a really big meal anyway because you've been snacking all day:)

I personally think getting seconds and thirds (and fourths) is perfectly acceptable. In my mind, the issue with someone going and taking 10 skewers at one time is that it empties out the tray and others have to wait for refills. If you only take 1 or 2 skewers then other people can get 1 or 2 and then, hopefully, they get refilled and you can go back and get a couple more and so on.

So, to me, it's not the quantity of what someone eats but that they try to take it all at one time so others can't get any and then have to wait with nothing on their plates while someone else has a ton.

But I believe that's common courtesy at any type of open food event. I'll have a plate of food and then when other people have had a chance to get their food then I go back and get more. If the lounge is empty or there's like 10 full trays of skewers then I even think it's ok to pile your plate high in that situation - LOL!

It's about sharing and not thinking 'I paid for this so I can take this whole tray if I want to and I don't care if other people are waiting' type mentality that I find rude.

WL CL had many different snacks. Cheeses, hummus, trail mixes. Wasn't just goldfish and gummy worms. We were there for 10 days and that was
all to be had at the Poly.

So, I may fly the coop. I have an opportunity to switch to BC CL from Poly CL for a few dollars less. Our dates are Sept 30-Oct 5. Thoughts??

My kids still talk about the chips (with the herb garlic dip) and that was two years ago.
