Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Signature Services is already closed so I plan to call them at 9 tomorrow. It is weird that I haven't heard from them, although in general I feel like Atrium is better with the phone calls than tower.
I am not sure the SS will be able to assist you since Guest Services normally handles these types of Guest relocations. I would still give them a call tomorrow but I doubt they will even know about the issue.

Did any of these calls you received last week ask you to call them back?

Dave

I am okay with split stays, usually. This one I was deliberately planning to stay put. I'm looking at all of the monorail and crescent lake availability right now and trying to figure out what I can make work. Signature Services is already closed so I plan to call them at 9 tomorrow. It is weird that I haven't heard from them, although in general I feel like Atrium is better with the phone calls than tower. Was your call from SS or somewhere else? I did miss a couple of calls last week that look like they could be Disney but I assumed they were DVC sales calls.
I have been called to be moved twice.

Beware it is contracted outside of Disney and once you accept an offer they won’t let you change your mind. So I would call and ask what dates you might be moved and where and ask for something else if needed . However ask to call back you need to check with your family and think on it 1st.

+I was in Atrium Cl talking to a Tower CM that told me about the issue. (Long time CM) I tried to move the bachelorette party from 2 rooms in Atrium to the 2 bedroom suite in Tower that became an available with AP discount. It was close to the same price if I dropped the 3rd room I had and jumped in the suite with the girls. The DSS email and cm’s at CR kept saying the room wasn’t available even though it was bookable!

I also was moved from CR to WL in 2021 and same thing happened. I arrived and went to CR and said I don’t want to be moved. They insisted not a single room available on the mono loop I had to stay at WL. They called me when I literally was boarding my plane. I took what was offered then remembered all of my dining was booked on mono loop. Back then we were still wearing masks and I had chosen dining that worked for us.

CR did give me a credit to my room to cover ride shares and one meal. That was nice.

The people on those phone lines also do not know Disney like we do. As a 3rd party not as knowledgeable. So check all options that work for you size and location and ask for it and good luck to all that have to be moved.

@focusondisney nicely done! RPC rooms are gorgeous as well as the new lounge areas!

So when they moved you from CR to WL there was no room price adjustment? Because CR is typically way more expensive than WL.

I had that deluxe room at CR booked in the GWing. They moved me to the deluxe room at WL which is a nicer room and higher price point. Unfortunately club level was still closed.

That was a good question!

In the end it worked out having extra space with both of my kids with me. DS who goes so less often loves WL so he was happy with it.

When I spoke to the Guest Services CM the other day, she did say if the Atrium Club room was less than the room I had booked, I would get a refund. I had booked in early January with a 10% discount, so the Atrium Club theme park view room without a discount would have been more than I paid. So I wouldn’t have gotten a refund if I had accepted that room.

Just back from our WL CL stay. I'm honestly torn about the whole stay. We've stayed here multiple times before, our last stay was in the fall of 2019, so it's been awhile. There are some huge pluses to staying here. There were also some things that just left me not wanting to go back, so let's get into it.

Pros: There's a lot to love.
A) Food was really really good. We loved everything ( well the pork eaters in my family did not love the turkey bacon and sausage but my DD and I did.
We thought there was a great selection, throughout the day. I'll post a ton of pics in another post.
B) seating. So much seating, never had an issue finding a seat, that was great.
C) room refurb was top notch. I think this is my favorite room refurb anywhere (have yet to see BWI in person). I still hate the 7th floor dormer balconies though.
D) was given a card to text them at anytime. They also sent me a welcome text to make sure they had the right number on file.

Pro/Con:
they seemed to be well staffed. However, they also seemed to be training lots of new folks. So the warmth wasn't there and this rolls into the cons

Cons:
A) They sent a welcome email and I responded to all questions. They also called me the day before we checked in. I was driving so my DH answered and they asked him the same exact questions they asked me in the email. Hmmm, okay, this sounds like a good thing, why are these cons?

Well the clearly did NOTHING with this info. Sorry, long rant ahead...
1) We told them we were transferring from another resort and would be there around 9am. We did not ask for or expect our room to be ready but we wanted to grab some breakfast. We check in at the gate, park, no one in the lobby. Okay, I wait to check in and actually have to tell the CM, we're in CL. She did apologize and say sorry, they usually send someone down to get you all. So she called someone and finally 15 minutes later they show up. Okay fine, maybe they were busy.
2) We noted it was our anniversary on the reservation, plus in the email and on the phone. Not one mention of that. I'm not asking for a red carpet, just oh I see you are here celebrating your anniversary, congrats. Maybe put a button in our room? No, nothing. Okay fine.
3) I have a food allergy. It's a rare food and it's not severe but I did note it on the email and I heard my DH tell the CM on the call. No mention of that. I also heard others having to ask everyday, what can I eat?

So why did you have me take time out of my day to email you back? Then call me and then do nothing with that info, like what was the point? You just want it to appear like you are interested? But really you aren't? And I will say this was whole vibe I got throughout the stay. Most of the time no one said a word to you. But if they did, it was like they were asking because that's what the script said they should do. I tried to make small chat several times and there was just no attempt to actually get to know you. No oh what do you all have planned today?

So I guess that's why I'm torn. We get a lot of is CL worth it questions on this thread and I usually respond with if you are going to use the amenities then yes. But perhaps for me, it more than just food and drink. I missed that personalized level of service that I get on CL. It's nice when you come back from MK absolutely drenched, that someone recognizes that and asks if they can get you a towel. Not say, well hopefully the sun will come out soon as they are walking away from you. Yes, that happened.

So like I said at the beginning of this post, I'm torn. The staff overall was fine. Food was plentiful and delicious, you never saw an empty dish, not even close. So I don't want to bash the CMs here. If I needed something, I was able to get it right away, no problem.

So if you don't care about having someone ask how your day was and just want CL for food and drink and nicely updated rooms. WL would be very high on my list.
I also wouldn't suggest for anyone to change their WL stay based upon my experience. I would say check it out for yourself.

If you've made it this far, sorry for the giant post!

Breakfast. The hot dishes rotated. One day the non descript "hot egg dish" was scrambled eggs with peppers, onions and spinach. Others it was just plain scrambled. We had turkey bacon and sausage. French toast sticks and pancakes.

Beverages and wine list. I thought that I did but now I can't find a Pic of the iced tea, lemonade and Grog punch they had out all day. As you can see, no more Nespresso, boo. It was the same machine as CSR, which was fine but not as good as the Nespresso. The syrup bar made up for that some, very impressive. They also had regular coffee out all day @mrsap

Random WL pics. Fireworks are from the lounge. Sunrise Pic is from our balcony. Also, this seems to be a new door.

That must have been very frustrating. Especially after answering the questions more than once.

I kind of have to laugh at this. Theres another thread about excessive room checks. A few people said the CMs made small talk during the room checks & asked about their plans for the day. More than 1 poster thought that was horrible, that you should never give that information out to anyone, implying the CMs might have a nefarious reason for asking. Seems the CMs are wrong no matter which way they go with that.

We’ve been staying CL for at least 25 years, multiple times a year & so many of those stays have been at YC. No one has ever remembered us from trip to trip or become our friend. We actually don’t care too much about CM interactions, we rarely need anything from them. So WL might be right up our alley. The food does look good, thank you for all the pictures.

Sorry your stay had some not so good parts. It’s so disappointing when things don’t go as you expect. I hope you enjoyed your trip overall & your next stay will be better.

It's actually better with no friends. Because when you do have friends and they eventually move on, it's just never quite the same. :eeyore:

I was kind of the same way when I was working. I said many times I wasn’t there to make friends, I was there to do my job. Same when I’m at WDW. I’m there for vacations with my family. I’m not there to make friends. That’s what the Dis is for. ;)

No doubt.

We have had the good fortune of meeting a few familiar faces along the way, and there are a few really good ones around. Feels like less as time goes on, but not sure if that's just us or the natural evolution of things.

I made the ‘mistake’ of staying DCL concierge recently - it's interesting to see that CL product vs WDW. Big difference in the "service" part of it.

Yes, and I totally understand those who don't want to talk. Like I said, I do not want to bash the CMs and I wasn't expecting or wanting to make friends. Everyone was nice and if I asked for something, there wasn't an issue. It just wasn't what we have come to expect from CL over the past 15 years staying at various CLs around WDW.
We did have a lovely stay overall but will probably go back to BWI next year.
No doubt.

Do you mind to expand on the difference in the service part?

I'm sorry you had a disappointing experience. That's how j felt at BC. It was so impersonal and I was ignored waiting for a drink several times. I'm just surprised at the WL. We never stayed CL there (was supposed to during covid) but on our non cl stay the cms were awesome. They met us at the ME and checked us in in the lobby. All the hotel cms were so lovely and friendly and would ask about our day. We couldn't wait for CL there because our regular stay was so nice. We haven't stayed since because we prefer the epcot area better though my kids still love wl.

I totally understand the rant part,

My birthday in April they were very warm! All 4 days they checked on me if I was having a good birthday trip. Maybe they were short staffed and non cl cm’s were working up there?

There have been some cl trips I left feeling like you did, GF was generally the worst. However over time I became friends with several there and my perspective changed.

Thanks for the review. Going to look at the pix now. 😊
