Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have a lot of experience with Kilimanjaro Club and food allergies. They are very accommodating and have a binder that lists literally every single item that is ever served at the Club, with ingredients listed. You should reach out to DSS first to ask them to notate the allergy in your reservation. 80-20 odds are that the resort never gets that message. When you arrive, just let them know at the Concierge desk on the 6th floor by the lounge that you need dairy-free options. They always have breakfast items available that are allergy-friendly, and for dinner, your daughter can order from a list of allergy-friendly items in lieu of the appetizers if they contain dairy. Have a wonderful trip! You will absolutely love it.
Thank you so much for your help! Im gonna have to ask, what does DSS stand for?

Are you still on the Poly trend or have you found somewhere else you like best? I'm all over the place on where to stay between CR, Poly, and YC. They are the only 3 with availability. I really want the club that feels the calmest even though I know they are all crazy and busy. On the other hand, we have an EPCOT fireworks cruise scheduled and I guess it just makes sense to stay at the YC so we don't have to travel after.

Why is making Disney plans so hard? It sure is a tough life :D
Welp, never mind :) CR got taken and the Poly is $1K more than YC CL. Poly is theme park view and YC water.

I guess I'm sticking with the YC!

ETA: In the time it took to type this, Poly got taken, too :D

the only time any of us has gotten sick from food at WDW was when my daughter accidentally ate something with milk in it and shes lactose intolerant. We're staying at AKL savanna view club level in 22 days. This will be our first experience with club level and wondering how do I let them know we have someone in our party whos got a dairy issue?
1. You can notify them before you arrive via the CL phone number.
2. Talk to the CM's when you arrive. They may well have you talk to a chef or fill out a paper form. (Not quite certain what AKL does, and each resort is slightly different.)
3. The CM's can have it noted on all your ADR's.
4. At any QS, if you choose mobile order, you can request allergen-free food. In some cases, to see the allergen menu, when you go to mobile order menu, you have to click a small box. It says something like 'see all menu options." If you click on that, and scroll down you 'll see the allergen menu listed by allergen.
5. Each CL is slightly different. In some cases, they might tell you something like fruit (off the line) is safe. In other cases, they can/will make a special plate up for her. It isn't always clear. It depends a bit what you request.

You should know, in many/most cases, you'll have to wait extra time for your food. Sometimes the food prep is the same as normal, other times, it can take quite a while longer to get your food at least at QS places. Even if you don't want to use mobile Order, it is a handy way to see the menu options. You can always ask to talk to a chef, and see what they can do/get clarification.

One last tip is to know the first aid locations in each park. They can provide over-the-counter meds, and a quiet location should you need it.

Here is info cut and pasted from the ADR page, but as I aid calling the CL Signature Services # (407) 939-7777 also works.

Common Allergy-Friendly Requests
Most table-service and select quick-service restaurants can accommodate the following common allergy- friendly requests and intolerances without any advance notice. This includes eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Less Common Allergy-Friendly or Intolerances Requests
Walt Disney World table-service and quick-service restaurants will do their best to accommodate you if you need meals made without a food or ingredient that is not one of the allergies the Food and Drug Administration considers most common. Examples of less common allergy-friendly or intolerance requests include, but are not limited to, gluten-friendly & lactose-friendly.

When to Contact Us in Advance
If you or anyone in your party has either with 4 or more allergy-friendly requests, requires pureed meals, or adheres to a medically-restrictive diet (such as very low protein), contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com in advance to request a Special Dietary Request Form.

We request that you don’t contact us any sooner than 14 days prior to your arrival. With the information you provide, the Special Diets team will assist you in navigating the dining process, which may include providing the restaurants you intend to visit with advance notice.

I have mixed feelings. As a resort overall, Poly is my favorite. We used to know a few CL folks there and that all got jumbled up with the closure, so it doesn’t have the “home” feeling it once did, but that happens - people move around, get promoted, move on, etc. I also didn’t really love the small plate menu they have in place now last time I was there. But I think a CL TPV (and LV to a lesser extent) room is one of the absolute “wow” room options in all of WDW and that will always hold a lot of value for me. The access to the Hawaii building/lounge in such close proximity to the resort amenities/pools/grounds is really unmatched among the CL options.

I tried to search (really, I did!), but ten pages or more returned. Bear with me as I know this has been asked. :(

CR CL or YC CL? We've stayed YC quite a few times and love it and the lounge. The closest to CR that we've stayed is BLT.

Both are available for our trip next month. Would you venture out for something new or just stick with the tried and true (YC CL)? We like the quiet calm of the YC so we aren't sure if the noise and chaos of CR might be too much. However, open to considering a new location. BC, BW, GF, and Poly CLs are sold out. We will be doing the parks equally so location works either way.
Depends on the price. We like both, but I'd only pay so much for CR. IMO, prices this year are too high, even with the discounts.

You can do what we do and book a split stay! Make sure you only buy 1 set of tickets though (Make sure 2nd hotel is a room only booking.)

I've never felt that CR was louder or more chaotic than YC. If anything, the pool and lounge of YC is usually louder than CR's. If you are Bay Lake side of CR, you can hear boats and will get water parade, but the quiet pool is pretty much always tranquil. We find the lounge is also relaxing, esp at less busy times of day. Most of the day, you can even have the balcony to yourself if you want quiet. It is also (generally) easy to take food to your room at CR.

That said, the food is now better at YC than CR, IMO. CR still has great desserts though.

I’m starting to think we caught Poly at the wrong time last year with these positive reviews. Love the resort, but the lounge was incredibly chaotic. Tables were difficult to come by and often not cleared as the CMs were understaffed. They also ran out of a few items at the end of service each night. Haven’t experienced anything like it since Sugarloaf existed. Maybe bad timing!

Can’t say any of that isn’t entirely unusual over time, at least in my experience. Unfortunately Poly CL is the largest CL by guest room count and sometimes it shows.

Agree, this was my experience, albeit pre-covid. I’m sorry in advance for saying the following: I absolutely love the resort and the new rooms are gorgeous, but the lounge was a complete and utter packed madhouse during our 3-day stay (early Nov 2017). I’ve not seen anything else like it, including YC CL during the 2022 FW rundisney event- the lounge was extremely busy, but not total insanity. I’ve been tempted enough by the lovely Poly rooms to snag reservations a few times, but I’ve never followed through on a return stay as a result of our 2017 experience.

The last few posts with the candid Poly feedback has been so helpful! Thank you so much for the information. Even the YouTube videos I've watched of the lounge made me feel claustrophobic!

The theme park CL room came back available, but I'm going to save the $1K and stick with YC until/unless a CR CL comes open. Kicking myself for not taking it when it was available.

I'm sure I'm not alone wishing there was a way to get a room alert like dining. I've been obsessively stalking for a cancellation.

well looks like we were a bit short of magic this time; for our may 9 - 16 mothers day trip they automatically changed my ressie on MDE app from BWI deluxe to poly garden view CL; will get some money back(not back but less to pay) since the discount still applies and the room is a bit less, like $600ish; there is still a nonCL waterview room at the BC which we are working on since we really want to be around crescent lake but as of now they wont discount it; but time will tell; ima covered with all brekkie ressies out which can be canceled if we stay CL but just in case we get that BC room......

epcot resort area is better for us because of the large 500lber ecv that cant be disassembled to travel so i have to take dis access minnie vans; so staying at GDT CL which i have in reserve means every trip is with that van; around crescent lake i only need the van to the MK, and at the poly ill only need it to DHS; problem is dinners at epcot world showcase after a nap in the room after lunch will be canceled for either resort or springs restaurants since i can drive and walk short distances with cane;

now the good news - i canceled our 12 day Norwegian Joy Haven ABC Islands cruise in Oct and just booked the BWI for sept 26-oct 3, but only a standard CL with discount since as of now no deluxes appear; and canceled the flight home from the cruise from miami(it departs NYC) which basically covers the 1st class flights in sept on delta to wdw; so 2X at BWI CL this year and 1 probably Poly CL should dry my tears and ease my frustration;
and then there is next year - already planning a jan 30 - 8 dayer at BWI CL deluxe if available!

DW wants to spend a week or more in Charleston SC and Savannah Ga and then go north when the leaves are changing so plenty to plan; she also really wants to go see the ARK in Kentucky so we will figure that out too;
after many attempts by my TA and myself we finally came to a decision; since we really want to stay around crescent lake and not deal with the Poly CL and the transportation issues with the huge undissembleable ECV Pride Maxima from Gold , i had already booked the GDT CL deluxe suite at a great discounted price; but that meant disability access minnie vans to everywhere sometimes 2 or 3 times daily at a high cost and possible long waits since its so far away from everything;

just hung up with TA who got a 1 BR BW Villa at the same original AP discount; so rack is 865/nt and our rate is 590/nt for 5 nts and 615/nt for 2 nts over the wekkend; so total is 4700 where as GDT was 4500 even with CL which we wont have at the BW; oh i forgot to mention we will be getting a 500 gift card too!!!!!

i had already made extra brekkie ressies to cover if we didnt get a CL so thats all set too although i might change some now for in park character brekkies since i really dont want 5 at ale and compass as much as we love it there especially the breads; and there is nothing i love more then planning disney trips; and since as i said we will be back at the BWI CL end of Sept and end of Jan, time to start planning those too;

not to dis the poly but the last post i red last nite/early this morning described how crowded and messy/dirty the lounge was and that is one thing DW can't deal with; and that is what helped us make the final decision;

22 sleeps to go!!!!!!

magic is magic and sometimes one must be persistent to fire that magic up!
