Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

@trishadono I am so sorry to hear about the fire! Thank goodness you and co-workers are safe.

OK, I'm bummed and worried. I guess I didn't really understand what was going on with DSS. I mean, I just made reservations on the phone with a wonderful CM who was working from their kid's bedroom. So, why is DSS not operating similarly? I just emailed my ADR requests as my day is Wednesday, thinking (wishing) that things must be at some new normal of functioning now that the biggest crush of cancellations and such have passed. Nope. Got the instant auto-reply that they are not booking.
For me, their help in securing my vital ADRs, around which I plan my entire trip, esp the PPO ADRs, was the one thing I used them for and the #1 perk for me personally in staying CL, saving me the trouble of trying to boko--followed by the trouble of using Touring Plan's Reservation Finder and praying and wishing and making ritual sacrifices to get prized reservations for six. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed champagne every night in the lounge and had delicious food from the chefs and enjoyed being able to grab a quick breakfast before heading to the parks. But those ADRs come before any of those extras.
Now I'm wringing my hands worrying over what kind of good/bad luck I will have Wednesday morning and how will that change my touring plans. Will I have to make any CRT reservation I can find, holding multiple ones until I figure out new plans because I can't get the one I want? If I can't get BOG PPO or Hacienda during fireworks time, will I even bother with those restaurants? Should we even pay $600 more per night to be at BWI (unless some AP discounts emerge) if I can't get this service? We could get two LM rooms at AoA and have one additional bed and one more bathroom PLUS the *Deluxe* DP for the same price as a CL Deluxe room on our dates, and take Skyliner to Epcot and DHS. Three meals would mean three alcoholic drinks a day built in. ;-)

I know it's nothing in this world of real problems and tragedies occurring all over, but just as thinking of my dream trip gives me silly happiness right now, thinking that I can't make it happen is a downer. Oh, well. I might just have to wait until 2021 dates drop and make a new plan, one for when DSS is available.

Yep it is frustrating. My AP expires 6/13. I have trip booked 6/24. I know I’ll get my passes extended but I hate calling and waiting on hold. I have read some got some kind of temporary pass but who knows?

Dd pass expires 7/19 so she ok. However do I buy tickets for dh and Ds? Then the parks don’t open I’m stuck with tickets I don’t need. (Ds in college and won’t go in Fall).

Hmm you probably will have decent luck since not as many people are booking . I see lots of availability for every month,

Good luck, hope you get all you want. 😊

I just want to say how much I love this thread and the people that post. So much negativity and doom and gloom on some of the other threads. I just cannot look at them anymore. I know our world has been turned upside down and may not be the same for awhile, but we have to look for the “big bright beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of everyday”. :flower1:

Thanks to all of you for being part of that beautiful tomorrow. Keep dreaming and planning. :wizard:

I feel the same way! I love how everyone has a good attitude and while a lot of trips have had to be cancelled or modified, the planning continues and we do what we can and hope for the best :goodvibes.

This is my fav thread too.

Mine too ::yes::

Mine expires 6/7. I've received a couple of emails stating the APs will automatically be extended by the number of days Disney is closed, so it'll be interesting to see how those extensions are handled.

Mine expires on 5/12 and I have a trip on July 8, and I don't want to have to wait on hold and try and make 8 days of FP on the phone because they are so slow. I did it for a now rescheduled 3 day trip since it fell a week after it expires, and my goodness it took forever and she kept confusing herself. Since I already have 6 trips under my belt with this FP I honestly think I'm just going to renew in the coming weeks and not bother getting any kind of return or extension since it didn't affect any trip during the closer making it so I couldn't use it. I know that's not the case for everyone, but I really don't want to wait since it probably won't happen till at least the end of May.

So, FYI, DSS does not have access to any ADRs that you cannot get on your own, nor are they able to book them earlier. In fact, their work hours start at 9am, while you can make ADRs starting at 7am, so you have a better chance at getting your ADRs than DSS. I am 100% confident that you will get the ADRs that you want at the time that you want.

I decided my best option was to renew and did today. I know covered for my June and Oct trips.

I will ask for the ap unused days refund. Then i can use that for my MNSSHP!

Yes, I know that's what we're told, but I've been practicing for almost a week now, and I can not get any PPO times I want (where the acceptable window of time is *very* narrow), whereas last July, DSS got everything I requested in one swoop. Instead, I'll be trying over multiple mornings. :🤷: Maybe my computer is cursed or being in Canada or whatever, and maybe I'll get lucky two days from now. My experience says that I get stuck crossing fingers for Reservation Finder to work (and it almost always does, but sometimes too late), and DSS is magic.

ETA: I'm trying to tell myself to be positive. To be fair I've not been trying at 7am sharp. I'm going to cross fingers and hope for pixie dust. But that won't stop me wishing they would just do it for me. 😋

When you hit 180 days out from your check in date you’ll be able to make ADRs for an additional 10 days into your trip. You won’t need to be doing multiple mornings, unless you have a long trip.

(sorry if that is obvious and something you already know, can’t totally tell from your post)

LOL, thank you! I thought that was the case, but haven't done my own ADRs since six months before our Dec 2016 trip! Even then, we used a CAA travel agent for a FD trip, and I know she helped. I'm laughing because I sound so spoiled. 😂 I was confused this past week when I could only get one say more each day. But you're right, it's because none of these dates are part of *my* 180+10 days. SMH

ETA: Why learn to park? Everywhere you go has valet. 🤷 😉

Since you haven't made ADRs before, I will mention that not every restaurant/reservation has reservations loaded at 180 days. If there is a restaurant that doesn't have availability, keep checking. If you cannot see the rest of your days highlighted for ADRs (up to 10 days), go ahead and call because it's a glitch and they will take care of it over the phone.

This is especially true if there is a dining event going on at Epcot (such as with the Garden Rocks or Candlelight Processional). When we went December 2017 we couldn't get most of our WS dining booked because they hadn't loaded any of the restaurants in that would be associated with those packages, about a month later they all just magically appeared and we got everything we wanted.

Good morning. Our 2020 cruises were all cancelled, and my daughters asked if we could do a WDW trip instead. Love that, we have not been since 2013! Our last trip we stayed CL level at AKL, and we would like to do that again. Since it has been a long time I wanted to double check a few things.

Are all CL level rooms still savanna views?
Are there still CL level rooms with bunk beds?
Will the CL help with the Fast pass & dining reservations still?

This isn't CL or AKL related, but in general. Does WDW still open bookings for the next year around June? Asking as we are going to stay put for 2020, so looking at booking for 2021.

Thank you so much for any information you can share.

@dato63 Yes, I believe that we expect this year to be "normal" in the sense of 2021 dates being available to book in June. But we'll see.

No, nothing worked on my computer, in Chrome or MS, on my phone, or in the MDE app either. Most of what I wanted was unavailable, and what was available would give me the Lady & the Tramp error message whenever I tried to book.
I posted about it here.
I ended up calling the Dining line and making reservations with a CM who found almost everything I wanted, including the golden 8:00am CRT on the one MK day without a Halloween party and an 8:15 BOG and an 8:05 Akershus (which I grabbed when no Garden Grill PPO was available). I'd really like to know why the website said no CRT for any time, any meal at all over three different days but the CM got me 8am. But at least I'm not already planning on different dates in 2021, which is what would happen if my little princess (getting bigger every day) couldn't eat at the castle, her primary request.

I'm sorry your cruises were cancelled :(.

As to your questions:

1. Yes, all AKL CL rooms have a view of a savanna.
2. I think Disney did away with bunk beds when they did the refurb, but I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully others will be able to verify that or correct me if I'm wrong.
3. Unless Disney makes a big change, DSS will be available to help with FPs & ADRs.

Rates for the following year have been released in June, but it's hard to tell what will happen with the 2021 rates. With everything going on right now and Disney being closed, I wouldn't be surprised if the new rates weren't released until late summer as Disney will have a lot to catch up on once things open back up. But that's just a guess on my part.

Have fun planning your trip :wizard:.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I will email AKL and ask about the bunkbeds. My concern is our twins will be 18 by the time we go. So, sleeping arrangements will be a little different than the last time we went. Maybe a roll away bed, or pull out. But, I want to plan ahead (dates, what we want, etc) so we can be ready when 2021 opens up. It is always exciting to have something to plan, and look forward to.

I'm okay that our cruises were cancelled. I've been watching commercials that have sparked Disney fever in me. My daughters were fortunate to get to do a quick 4 day trip with their school orchestra early March. Which left them wanting more. So, the fact they cheered about our cruises getting cancelled and asking if we could use that $ to go back to Disney really made my day.

Yes, you are 100% correct about the bunk beds being retired at the AKL.

AKL removed all bunk beds during the last room refurbishment and the WL is now removing their bunk beds during their current (paused at the moment) room refurbishment.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Is it Wednesday?....:crazy2::rotfl2:

If my family of 5 (14,18 and 21 age of kids next year) are to stay CL at AKL what are our accommodation choices?

Thanks:)

Nothing wrong with planning ahead! I agree that it's always nice to have something in the works :goodvibes.

Glad your DDs were able to get a quick trip in before all of the closings. I hope your 2021 trip works out :wizard:.

A one bedroom suite or a 2 bedroom suite both would include CL access.

The one bedroom has 2 Queen Beds and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa. The 2 bedroom has 1 King Bed and 2 Queen Beds and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa.
