I don’t think it’s possible to refurb one side of the hallway while folks are paying to stay on the other side.

They usually block off entire hallways to refurb with teams working in rooms all over, and as work on one thing finishes that team moves to another room and the next team moves in. I heard a construction guy at AKL telling a couple of guests how they do it when I was there in February, and it's not just one room at a time, they kinda do a full on attack mode.

NYS is so shut down. Dh now can’t golf yet our Walmart parking lot is FULL.

I have never cleaned so much in my life! Teehee , that and Disney planning.

Availability keeps increasing for fall so maybe there WILL be discounts!

It's the same where I live. Looking at the number of cars in some of the parking lots, you'd never know there were any restrictions in place.

Trishadono I am so sorry this happened to your office but I am all about new and shiny. I am so excited you have a new WDW trip to plan. That seems to help me get through a lot of trying times. I am now planning a trip in my mind for next year. It is so hard to know when we will be able to go not knowing what the fall and spring will look like for the kids activities etc.

Debating on:
AK CL (never done that one)
Cont CL (stayed at cont but not CL)
BC/YC CL (kids choice)
BWI CL (been a while but we loved it)

I don't know why I get stuck going to one resort and almost don't want to try a new one...Ridiculous. And I know these are not real problems but I know you guys understand my dilemma. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know.

We stayed AKL club level and loved it. The resort is stunning and to wake up every morning with a balcony overlooking the savanna...priceless. The only negative we found was the transportation, but we did stay Thanksgiving week. The food offerings were great and we enjoyed trying the new flavor profiles. AKL is definitely a “do again” club level for us

My DH & I just stayed CR CL this past December (first ever CR stay) and we loved it. We found the food offerings to be good/plentiful and the CL CMs were just amazing! We had a great stay and will definitely stay again .

I just want to say how much I love this thread and the people that post. So much negativity and doom and gloom on some of the other threads. I just cannot look at them anymore. I know our world has been turned upside down and may not be the same for awhile, but we have to look for the “big bright beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of everyday”.

I keep trying other resorts. I do enjoy them but my heart belongs to the seven seas lagoon. I could just watch EWP and HEA from the resort every night. Lame as it is , it reminds me of the late 70's when I first visited.

I also am content to mono ride or boat ride at night and just enjoy visited the mono resorts.

I am a huge proponent of AKL as the entire vibe is so beautiful and peaceful. The food is excellent, and there are the sweetest, most helpful CMs there day in, day out.

Oh, and also, zebra domes are available downstairs at Mara ...

Guess what? Poly cl is now open for Sept, Oct, Nov for GV and Lv cl’s. TPV cl doesn’t show up until the end of Oct,

Interesting. Thought it was closed then for remodel.


I was able to book Poly CL TPV for September, what requests should I be making? I’m so excited about this, first time in this location!!!!

@trishadono I am so sorry to hear about the fire! Thank goodness you and co-workers are safe.

OK, I'm bummed and worried. I guess I didn't really understand what was going on with DSS. I mean, I just made reservations on the phone with a wonderful CM who was working from their kid's bedroom. So, why is DSS not operating similarly? I just emailed my ADR requests as my day is Wednesday, thinking (wishing) that things must be at some new normal of functioning now that the biggest crush of cancellations and such have passed. Nope. Got the instant auto-reply that they are not booking.
For me, their help in securing my vital ADRs, around which I plan my entire trip, esp the PPO ADRs, was the one thing I used them for and the #1 perk for me personally in staying CL, saving me the trouble of trying to boko--followed by the trouble of using Touring Plan's Reservation Finder and praying and wishing and making ritual sacrifices to get prized reservations for six. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed champagne every night in the lounge and had delicious food from the chefs and enjoyed being able to grab a quick breakfast before heading to the parks. But those ADRs come before any of those extras.
Now I'm wringing my hands worrying over what kind of good/bad luck I will have Wednesday morning and how will that change my touring plans. Will I have to make any CRT reservation I can find, holding multiple ones until I figure out new plans because I can't get the one I want? If I can't get BOG PPO or Hacienda during fireworks time, will I even bother with those restaurants? Should we even pay $600 more per night to be at BWI (unless some AP discounts emerge) if I can't get this service? We could get two LM rooms at AoA and have one additional bed and one more bathroom PLUS the *Deluxe* DP for the same price as a CL Deluxe room on our dates, and take Skyliner to Epcot and DHS. Three meals would mean three alcoholic drinks a day built in. ;-)

I know it's nothing in this world of real problems and tragedies occurring all over, but just as thinking of my dream trip gives me silly happiness right now, thinking that I can't make it happen is a downer. Oh, well. I might just have to wait until 2021 dates drop and make a new plan, one for when DSS is available.
