Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

@mrsap, @gillep, @AngiTN, @ninafeliz - Thanks for the input on my large group/multiple room question. As I've been making more room reservations in my name over the last few days organizing this thing, I started to get spooked I might be creating a problem, but glad to know it should work out ok.

On another note, I have been getting multiple 'welcome/introductory calls' from DSS with all of these reservations in my name! While I'm glad I seem to be on the "call" list (at the moment), I do wish their IT was set up so CMs could see if you're a repeat guest/DSS user and change the script a bit. I feel so bad having to cut them off in the middle of their spiel and let them know "yeah, I know what DSS is, I'm good!" :-)

Thanks again for your help.
HA! They do seem to have no record of who's been. I got a call today from DSS for an upcoming stay in April (booked 3 days ago). I have tended to just let them go and say thank you, if I need something I'll call. I've gone so far as to build a contact for them in my phone so when it calls it says DSS

I tend to think of those as safer. The safes that have electronic codes can also be opened by a master electronic code. After all, it's not a previous occupant you have to worry about, it's staff. That would be much easier to steal than a physical key. I'd take a physical key over an electronic code anytime. But usually I, too, just lock up my suitcase.
The staff (someone at least) also has a key. The one the guest has is not the only way in to that safe

Chiming in again, still surprised to hear of others receiving welcome calls and emails from DSS! I don't mind calling them myself, though, if needed! :-) It's a wonderful service.
Going along with the services they provide, I did post this on the CL FP thread, but thought it'd be worth posting here, as well. I've been 100% set on purchasing the extra CL FPs on our next CL stay, which is now booked for September. We haven't been to WDW in September before, and the extreme heat and humidity at that time of year :scared:makes me wonder if being in the parks for six FPs (even if we split them into morning and evening, which we would prefer not to do) is just too much. We're considering doing just two park days (and filling in with water park/ cabana days/ etc.), and doing EMH and EMM events to get to the parks early and leave by around 1 p.m. However, part of me hates letting go of the opportunity to purchase the extra FPs. Any input here regarding being 'stuck' in the parks so long when utilizing all six FPs? Thanks so much in advance!

Is this not normal to get? It looks awesome
We got this once. There wasn't an occasion. I think it was at CR.

Thinking back, we did not always get a welcome gift at CL. At CR another time we got a chocolate monorail thing? And at Poly we were upgraded and got a basket and a flower lei and some other items (that was good...). At BWI I think we got some assorted chocolates? Don't think we got anything for our recent RPI stay. At YC recently and other BWI visits, we did not get any welcome gift either.

We got some kind of chocolate welcome gift that was very nice at POFQ maybe two years ago. It said thank you for being a return guest.

We did the extra FPs last summer. I'm glad we did it once, but I don't think we would again at least in the summer. We did all of ours in our morning park, and it was just too long in the park/heat. My older kids were wanting to pack it in even before we had done all of our FPs :sad2:

We also were there 9 nights and the extra FPs were toward the end of our trip so maybe we were just getting worn out. We also did it to try the TSL rides so that was part of our reasoning too.

However, I think if we were only doing a few park days, I would consider it for sure. Our summer trips just tend to be our longer trips. I also think splitting them into morning/afternoon is a good idea, we just don't always go back out in the evening.

I think if we still had not tried it yet, I would still want to do it just to see what it was like though lol.

Not sure if that was helpful but I hope you have a great time whatever you decide :flower1:

@PPFlight75 , this is SUPER helpful, thank you! Ideally we really only want two park days (possibly hopper plus to do water parks, too). We would only switch to three to buy the extra FPs. I don't think we would go back in the evening, either! We are doing TSL EMM on our trip in about a week :dancer:, so I think we may skip HS altogether in September. Glad to know it's an option, though! Thanks again for your feedback!

Speaking of how nice DSS is, I called to get a room discount the other day and the CM and I were just chatting, and he asked if we were celebrating anything special and initially I couldn't think of anything but then he mentioned graduation & I realized my daughter would be graduating from her master's program a few days before. (I'm not as neglectful as that sounds, honestly- she's going into a PhD program, that's the real prize :tilt: In fact today is her second interview for a position so any good vibes are much appreciated! :goodvibes)

Anyway, the CM said he'd add a graduation surprise package at no charge. It would never have happened had he not asked about it! Then he transferred me to the resort booking line. I have to believe I was first in line there, because I waited less than a minute to get a reservations CM on the line. So if you have to call for any reason, call DSS first and let them transfer you. The times they couldn't help me, I was transferred and it seemed like I went to the front of the queue.

We got some small chocolates last October at pop for being return guests

Just got back from an AKL club level stay. The best of the three I’ve stayed at (WL and Poly). Gracious/friendly staff and excellent offerings. Particularly liked the afternoon tea with scones and the chef-plated evening apps. Happy to answer any questions anyone may have...

That was so sweet of the CM! It’s always great to hear when one goes above and beyond! Enjoy!

I love reading good things about AKL CL as it's on my list to try. Glad you had a great time :).

We have received welcome gifts from all CL we have stayed except GF (both RPC and SL). At CR we got both the box of truffles and the strawberry/chocolate castle platter. Our most recent stay at BWI resulted in the Chocolate bar on our check in night and wonderful cupcakes mid stay. Those were my fave!

Can you bring your club level refreshments back to your room?

We're staying in a cottage at BWI, and I would love to relax in the room/our yard rather than the club lounge itself.

Are there any trays to carry your snacks out of the lounge, and is that allowed? Do they let you take more than 1 beverage itself / is it self serve or served to you? My understanding is the cottages are a bit of a journey from the club lounge so I'd love to avoid journeying back and forth every time we want a drink.

Yes you can! I know WL offered trays, but not sure about BW. You can ask for more than one drink... heck I’ve seen people ask for bottles of wine/champagne to take back with them!! (Not joking).

The bottle requests were granted? That seems a bit excessive!
