Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

I need some help from the EXPERTS! I'm finally making my way back to WDW after 5 years. :cool1: We are staying at CBR and I want to make room requests. I know that I have done this on my last 2 or 3 trips to CBR, but I don't remember what the process was. I feel like I faxed my requests one of the previous times, but I really don't remember. Can someone tell me how they usually go about making their room requests?
touringplans.com has a faxed room request - but I think you need to sign up for their service (it's relatively cheap and an awesome time saver in the parks, couldn't go without it). The check-in process on the disney website doesn't really allow you to put any additional information.

Recently I have called in when my reservation is 60 days out and make the requests over the phone with a actual person. My understanding is that rooms aren’t even assigned until the week/days before but I like to do it around the time I can start doing other things like making dinner reservations. The last time we stayed at CBR (October 2020) they got us the location we wanted (Martinique close to 1st bus stop). They also were able to join our room with another room from our party. We are going again this October and staying at CBR and I’m interested to see if it will go as smoothly with the increase in traffic.

I use the TP subscription for the room request service as well as room finder/room view service. It's about $12/year and worth it for as much as we use it. They also have a dining reservation finder. I have used the room request service on a number of trips and I've had more success than failures for sure.

(Responding to MickeyNola about preferred rooms. Not sure why it didn’t quote)

We were in Barbados 32. It was an excellent location! We had a bus stop right behind us, and the Jamaica skyliner was not far. Everybody keeps saying that CBR is a huge resort and it really had me nervous that everything was far away. Unless you are staying in Trinidad, I did not find that to be the case. Everything you need is available in your section, Old Port Royale is central to everything, and if you want to get to Riviera without a 10 minute walk, you can ride the skyliner.

I have my room requests noted on my reservation.

Sorry for the post barrage but I know I had some of these questions as well and the days and weeks leading up to our stay. We left building 25 in Martinique at about 7:35 AM and walked to the Caribbean Beach Skyliner. By the time we got there the line was moving steadily and boarded our gondola with no wait. Got to Hollywood studios and got in line all the way to the left and stood in line maybe three minutes before the line started moving. Enter the park and turn left and we’re held by Indiana Jones as we made our attempt to move towards Smugglers run. I’d say we got there about 8:10 AM and had maybe 100 people in front of us.

Leaving for Disney at the end of the month. I cannot find if the food court at Caribbean Beach has micro waves to use. Has anyone seen them there?
Thanks!

Water view bookings are eligible for any village, including Martinique and Barbados. I booked Water several years ago and requested Martinique. We were lucky enough to get it as well. It’s a great location.

Normally, yes. I don’t know if they are available again. Perhaps someone else can confirm if they are.

Following. I was wondering the same thing.

Also wondering if the Freestyle machines are available. I need sugar free options and the regular machines don’t have much. I would think if they placed Lysol type wipes by these and microwave it would make them safe to use.

Anyone there now that can confirm?

I haven’t been to WDW since they opened Starwars area (Only DL). Do you still have to go on the MDE app and get boarding pass times?

Driving down at spring break so we'll have a car. How bad is it to get to McDonald's or other fast food places from CBR (both distance and traffic)?

There's a McDonald's on the corner of Osceola Pkwy and Buena Vista Dr right by ASSp. 10 minutes max I'd say.
