Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We chose CBR because we figured direct transportation to two resorts would be better than just one at WL, and the park hop to Epcot is more like a potential option than a set plan, last time we went to WDW we were a family of 3 not 5. Grandparents are potentially coming as well so maybe we can sneak away and have a date night at Topolino or Epcot

If we are in a Jamaica building is there a faster way to Riviera besides walking? Does the skyliner stop there or does it go straight to the parks?

Even if in your in building 4100 in Jamaca, it will almost assuredly take you longer to walk to the skyliner station at CBR then ride to the skylier station at Riviera than it will to just walk the distance.

Maybe my coffee hasn't fully absorbed but Jamaica 41 is right across the street from the skyliner station. It would be a breeze to walk there and hop on to Riviera. We were in Jamaica 45 and it was still quicker to walk to the skyliner than to walk to Riviera. It was about a 10 min walk to the Riviera from building 45, guessing it would be 12-15 min from 41.

Yes absolutely. Jamaica 41 is super close to the CBR station. Aruba would be closer to the Riviera station.

I assume that LSUfan4444 means that the combined time of walking from Jamaica to the CBR skyliner station, waiting in line (if there is one), riding the skyliner to the Riviera station, and then walking from there to Riviera would take longer than just walking from Jamaica to Riviera. To me, it seems like it would take longer if there's any wait for the Skyliner at all, although I haven't stayed at CBR yet (trip is planned July 2022) so I don't have personal experience with it.

Lines for the skyliner are highly dependent on time of day. Another thing to keep in mind, if trying to go to Riviera before Epcot is open the line might not be running yet.

Makes sense. Most waits occur at park openings, we've stayed at CBR and the skyliner moves pretty good throughout the day and def moves even better now that they're filling up the gondolas. It does backlog some in the AM at opening but not as bad as when you had to be at DHS to get a ROTR BG. That was horrible, so glad Disney did away with that. Even when the line is backed up to Joffrey's, it moves at a pretty good clip but if the line is that long, it's probably a negligible difference in line wait than to walk to RIV.

I agree with @LSUfan4444 that walking from Jamaica 41 to the Skyliner, waiting for the Skyliner, riding it, exiting on the far platform at Riviera and then walking over to Riviera and whatever restaurant you go to will likely take longer than just walking the direct path. The walk to the Skyliner station is shorter, but the potential wait and the ride adds time too.

That said, I think the difference would be fairly minimal so if you aren't in a hurry and want to save some walking (or if you aren't able-bodied), then its a fine option to use the Skyliner.

Yeah...I think it's splitting hairs at best if there is no Skyliner wait. If there are waits or issues at either station then it changes things. Now, if someone has mobility issues or something that may be different as well but purely from a time savings perspective, even if you're in the closest building to the CBR station, have no delay boarding your gondola and get off without any delay I still think most people could walk it in the same amount of time or faster.

I was also thinking we probably won’t be able to ride the skyliner to Riviera for breakfast because the Epcot skyliner will not even be running at that time.

We'll be at CBR this Monday - curious what time (if at all) does the pool area close? We're hoping to use it around 9pm after arriving

Okay...finalizing some things for our early mornings so looking to confirm if I'm still up to date.

For Epcot and Hollywood Studios mornings, we're definitely taking the Skyliner. Is it still accurate that to be in the front of the skyliner line we will want to have someone in line about 90 minutes prior to advertised park opening (7:30 for HS @ CBR station and 9:30 for Epcot @ Riviera station)

For AK, still not sure if we will drive but is the parking lot still opening up one hour before park opening and arriving before then could have you turned around?

For the bus to MK and AK, a bus stop arrival 90 minutes to advertised park opening should get us on one of the first busses and the busses start picking up about 45 minutes prior to advertised opening?

I need some help from the EXPERTS! I'm finally making my way back to WDW after 5 years. :cool1: We are staying at CBR and I want to make room requests. I know that I have done this on my last 2 or 3 trips to CBR, but I don't remember what the process was. I feel like I faxed my requests one of the previous times, but I really don't remember. Can someone tell me how they usually go about making their room requests?
