Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Do you think if we brought an apple tv box and hdmi cable that it would be able to hook up to the television? Just wondered if anyone knows whether the tv's at CBR let you attach something like that?

We hooked up our car DVD player to the TV's using a HDMI cable with no issues at all.

My family and the family we traveled with stayed here from Dec 16th - 23rd. I faxed and also had my requests noted on my account, connecting rooms, Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. We were in Aruba 5125 and 5126. They were connecting rooms, 5125 had the murphy bed but 5126 did not. We were on the ground floor, super close to the bridge, and right by the path to the bus stop. The Jamaica bus stop was actually closer than the Aruba.

The kids really liked the pools and the beaches and hammocks. The only thing we didn't really like was the layout of the food court. Since it was all in a line it was hard to see everything they had at once. Our first night eating there was a bit chaotic but it got easier and better each time.

We can't decide if we prefer CBR over POR. I like the food court better at POR and probably the themeing of CBR (even though I am not a beach fan). We are just thankful for more than one option for a family of 5 now.

How does the bus situation at CBR compare to POR? We've stayed at POR, but never CBR. I'd really like to try something new this visit, but am nervous because it seems like transportation can be an issue at CBR. We are going in June.

Just wondering if anyone at CBR now or who was there recently has received the new Magicband 2.0? I just got our email saying that our bands will be waiting for pickup at the resort (we're Canadian) on Saturday and am curious as to which ones we might be getting.

I've stayed at both CBR and POR. POR a few years ago, CBR just last week. We didn't have any issues with buses at CBR except for one morning when we were trying to get to an AK bus for a PPO breakfast. We happened to have this exact same issue at POR also (same park, PPO breakfast). We waited 40 minutes before one came. All other times, even to and from Disney Springs, buses came quickly.

I will admit that the 7 bus stops at CBR were a bit annoying at times. We were usually picked up first and it sometimes felt like it took a while to get around the resort. Although a couple times the bus only picked up at half of the stops before heading to our destination.

CBR has 2 more bus stops than POR and I wouldn't let that deter you from staying at CBR. It won't make that much of a difference.

Just finished changing our reservations from POR to CBR and saving over $300:) The last time we stayed there, was over 10 years ago and that trip had issues. So, we thought it was time to give CBR another stay, we do not write off a resort because of 1 bad stay. This will be the first time for our DDs. We give them a say in where we should stay (after we tell them no to GF:rotfl2:), we showed them pictures and videos of the resort and they liked it. Hoping for another great trip:)

One thing that has changed for the better since your last visit is Shutters, the table service restaurant at CBR. They brought in a new chef a couple of years ago and it has improved the food dramatically.

Just got an email saying that during our stay the Trinidad South pool will be closed. We will be there from 3/4-3/11. We shouldn't be in TS, bc we booked a preferred room, but just thought I would add it on here so someone could update the main page.

We are getting so close to our trip!!!

Good to hear. For a few years, we would not even consider CBR because they did not have queen beds, when the other Mods did, so that was a BIG factor:) Cannot wait for our stay 3/9 - 3/19.

I found the busses to be very comparable. We stayed at POR in Sept 2015 and CBR in Sept 2016 most recently - both had some really short waits and some long waits. They both had a lot of bus stops. I would not rank one better than the other.

YAHOO! Just changed our reservation from AOA Little Mermaid room to CBR water view for about the same price! It is our first time staying on site, but not our first time with the mouse. When it is time to do room requests, does anyone have a favorite with the water view? Would like to try to be close to the town center. TIA

For us "water view" has never been important at CBR, there really is no way to enjoy it... (ie:sitting on a balcony and relaxing) What IS important to us is to stay in fairly close proximity to the OPR bridge. We request Aruba 51 or Jamaica 45. We have been very blessed to have always stayed in the area we requested.
The beauty of CBR is that you can hang out on a bench, hammock, or just walk the perimeter and the grounds are lovely!

A water view was what was available with the promotion, no standard rooms. We are very excited for the hammocks and beaches!

The nice thing about Water View rooms is that you can request any building in Trinidad North, Martinique 24, 25 and 26. Putting you extremely close to OPR and the Main Feature Pool.
