Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We were at WDW (not CBR) one year in early Feb and there were a whole lot of cheerleaders around... so maybe something like that over at ESPN?
Usually the cheerleaders/sports teams stay at one of the values, not CBR.
I have no clue...

They have also stayed mod in the past, although I'm unsure if CBR is the one they stayed at.

The WWOS calendar shows a dance competition from Feb3-5 and then a cheerleading competition Feb11-12.

In our experience, we have seen ball teams (HS boys? Could have been college, I guess.) and soccer teams (girls) at CBR. Neither were a problem other than they were there and when they were all at the resort, the food court was really crowded.

Omg that is my main reason for not liking the poly. Expected it to be peaceful and it's not. It's like grand central station in the GCH. The beach is packed with people that aren't staying here. Trader SAMs makes it crazy too. And I HATE captain cooks. I want OPR food court!! Sick of sharing buses too. CBR was so quiet and peaceful for our 10 nights over thanksgiving. Can't wait to go back.
You have the same impression as my wife and I do. We went to the Poly to visit friends there...I thought the Polynesian was nice, but not enough to warrant the price, and I was not impressed with Ohana. I much prefer Shutters and I like the size of CBR...does not feel like you are on top of everybody.

I remember about 2 years ago, we were directly under the registration room for the cheerleaders at CBR...I remember this lovely and loud voice about midnight or so..."Brittany, I found the room." I believe that they heard this cheerleader all the way at DtD.

Towels at the main pool.
We checked in Wednesday and did not have bug spray. (Did get a Mickey head out of towels today though!!) There are lots of stands in the parks.

Am I correct that we are able to take the towel characters home?

We ran into the same issue in Feb of this year at CBR. They must've run out of room at the Value resorts. :)

We leave tomorrow! Driving halfway down and arriving at cbr on sat!!! I can't believe it! I haven't been since I was 8 (and I stayed at cbr then)-that was 27 years ago. I've been dreaming for years about taking my kids and now it's almost here!!!!

I decided we are more moderate people. Hate the indoor hallways, miss the food courts, miss all the quiet pools and laundry at every village. ( had to lug my dirty laundry through the pool or great ceremonial house from our building) Hate that it takes so long to get everywhere except MK. Got a great price so it was worth it to try, but miss free dining at CBR.

Anybody else been given free upgrades to the Pirate rooms? Just wondering how the beds are in comparison to other Disney beds? We had one room booked for the Pirate rooms and Disney has upgraded our other two rooms, so we will all be together:)

Don't know if the Pirate Rooms have been upgraded to Queen beds...and I don't know if I'd call getting a Pirate Room an upgrade.

Hey everyone...I'm back. :rotfl:Were staying at the POly right now and I have to admit, I'm missing CBR. Don't get me wrong, it's nice. But we had such a great stay last year at CBR that we just booked our bounceback for December 2017 at CBR. So I'm hanging here with you all for the next 15 months again. Yay

Is the bounce back free dining or room only?

Gosh, I hope not, I so don't consider that an upgrade!
Beds are doubles, not queens, they do have those wonderful beauty rest mattresses though!
But, on the bright side, you're at Disney!

Have a wonderful time and that is awesome that you are taking your kids back to where you stayed when you were a child! I am sure you all will have a fantastic time.

We were upgraded to pirate rooms our first year staying at CBR. At first, I felt like this want an upgrade but the theming is really cool especially if you like pirates! Even though the beds are not queens, we didn't have any trouble with them and my husband is 6'2. They were very comfortable. Plus your entire group will be together and they is what's awesome! Have fun.

We have been "upgraded" to a pirate room and happily declined. They tried to tell me that when you book standard that means they can put you anywhere. Until I showed them on the website that standard says 2 queen beds. They ended up putting us in a preferred because they oversold standard. But it was actually a good thing for them in the long run because they convinced me to book preferred from now on because we loved it so much. They almost never sell the pirate rooms out, so you'd have a good chance I'd say. I think they are cute, but my husband and I are both al ost 6 foot tall, we can't sleep in double beds.

Does anyone know if they sell stamps at the resort?
