Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

The time to Disney Springs doesn't surprise me. I don't care where I have stayed on property - value to deluxe to DVC - it has always taken about that long.

Just back from another great trip at CB! We were in Jamaica 43. We were happy with the location. The room was very clean and housekeeping was efficient. We normally come back in the afternoons for naps and swimming and our room had always been serviced before we got back. The resort was beautiful as always and cast members were excellent!

Our only cons of the trip was the food court and the buses. And honestly they weren't even that big of a deal. We just decided that we prefer the food court at POR better. More choices are available there for us personally. We also had a little issues with the buses looping around the resort twice to pick up guests. One day our travel time from getting on the bus to Animal Kingdom was 1 hour and 12 mins! And we also spent just under an hour getting to Disney Springs! For us that was the tipping point that made us decide to always have a car on site for future trips.

Overall this was a pretty flawless trip and we came home happy and relaxed!

Yikes an 1 hour and 12 mins! Why would they loop the resort twice. That's a little concerning to me for our upcoming trip as we've never stayed at CBR.

Wow...good to know! We normally stay at POR and take the boat down but the few times we have stayed at Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club I don't remember the trip taking so long. Like I said it really wasn't a huge deal...just made us realize that we enjoy having a car on property.

Well have tried to do room request and again got told I can do it 10 days prior to arrival, ah well will have to hope that where we want isn't full by the time it comes to requesting!:worship:

So weird. I have heard that the UK has a different number to call...maybe that's it?

I know international is expensive, but did you try 407-939-6244? That's what I used yesterday.

I have used 407-934-3400 which I got from someone on here who has used it from the uk:confused: I may try again in a little while or maybe in a month or so:confused3

It is just crazy that they won't let you put them on! Yesterday she put them on without issue. My confirmation even shows them - with NG indicating "Not Guaranteed" on there of course. And I don't go until August!

Maybe its cause I'm a *foreigner*;):rotfl2::rotfl:
Have noted the number you have given me and will try that one:)

IDK. The only reason it even occurred to me is I'm learning through cruise forums for RCCL and Celebrity that there are different booking rules for guests in the UK and other countries (regarding refunds, etc.). I don't know if Disney has similar restrictions or not.

Ok I need some clarifications. I just upgraded my room from standard view to water view thanks to the Summer Awakenings promo that is going on. What I don't understand is if there are premium water view and standard. I'd like to make some requests but I'm not clear on what is the difference in premium and waterview. Are water view rooms in Martinque premium or waterview? My touring plan says they are waterview but everything I read say that building is premium. I'm so lost. I really confused on what I should be requesting if I want close to the main building/pool and first floor. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

Buildings are not classified, only rooms are. So there is no such thing as a Preferred (I assume this is what you mean by Premium) building.

A preferred room will be a room very close to OPR and the Main Feature pool, either in Trinidad North, Martinique 24, 25 or 26.

A Water View room will be a room with a view of the Lake or a pool. There are some Water View rooms in every building at CBR.

A room will be classified as Preferred OR Water View. There are no rooms classified as Preferred Water View. So if you booked a Water View room you could be assigned a room in any building except the buildings in Trinidad South as those are classified as Pirate Themed Water View.

Since you booked a Water View room you can request to be in Trinidad North, Martinique 24, 25 or 26 and those would be valid requests.

I hope this helped.

YES!!!! You answered my poorly asked question perfectly. One other question, I was told by a CM on the phone that all rooms (except for pirate) have the trundle bed now but reading some of the comments this may not be true...do you know? I have a toddler that I was counting on using that trundle.

Unfortunately, you were given bad information. Not all rooms have the Murphy Bed (WDW removed all the trundle beds on site years ago). So you would have to request one, but understand it's only a request. If you want to make a building/location request also you will have to decide which one is most important and list that one first. Like "Murphy Bed" and "Martinique 24" would indicate to the Room Assigner that having a room with a Murphy Bed is more important. So if they can only grant one of your requests they will try to give you then one you feel is most important.

This.

Also, be aware that unless you have 5 in your party, the Murphy bed is definitely a request - they HAVE to give those rooms to parties of 5 first. So if having one is very important to you, I would make that your ONLY request. Still won't guarantee it unless there are 5, but it would increase your chances.

So I caved... I found a code for a discount and joined Touring Plans JUST for the room fax service.

Already configured my fax requesting corner room, second floor, water view (I am booked into King, so water is requestable as there are some King water view rooms) with three specific rooms listed in Jamaica 42. With the mention I will be celebrating my 45th birthday (hey, it may not help, but it can't hurt!).

We shall see what happens in August!

I thought Touring plans only allowed you to request ONE room? You were able to add all those requests (corner, second floor, water view) AND 3 specific rooms and a birthday celebration to the Touring Plans fax??
Have people had luck using this fax service? Do you think the TP fax has more of a chance of being granted than just faxing the resort myself? And how many days out should we fax?

When you configure it, you can edit the whole thing. It automatically lists several rooms - I just changed it to the several I would like. Then there is a space for comments, so I put the rest (already on the reservation, but to reiterate) in there.

People seem to have had luck with them from all reports. And from most reports they are the only faxes the resorts accept (POR and POFQ reportedly still accepting from general public). If not using TP I would just make sure it is on my reservation and maybe leave the online check in requests blank.

Humph wouldn't you know it, I finally got through to a helpful CM (on the number you gave) who was happy to put in our requests, when he asks if I had booked through a TA and when I said yes he told me he can't put the request in for me then I will have to go through TA! Ah well looks like putting in the 2 requests 60 days before on MDE and hoping we get where/what we want.

Thanks for all your help though:thanks:

UGH!

But yeah, that is the main reason I don't bother with TAs. I like to have control of my reservations.

Fingers crossed for you!!

Is there any reason you can't ask your TA to add the requests for you? Mine did it with no problems. Just FYI, the reason is that the TA "owns" the reservation until you check in. He/she would need to make any changes for you.
