Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

I need help, we check in next Friday at CBR. We booked a preferred room, but are we supposed to do anything else? Is there somewhere specific we should request? Are we supposed to check in online?

Hi everyone,

We are staying at CBR April 23-May 1. We have never stayed at CBR and are very excited. We reserved a preferred room. Is there any reason I should request the Martinique building over the Trinidad North building? Also, is there an advantage to having a corner room? We are going to be driving a car, so is there a lot of close parking near the preferred buildings, or do a lot of people park there to use the pool and get to the dining area?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered. Thank you so much!

Does the color of the exteriors of either Village appeal to you more than the other? Other than that, there's really no difference in the 2.

Also, is there an advantage to having a corner room?

A corner room will have a 2nd window which makes the room seem bigger.

In all our trips to CBR I've never noticed anyone driving to OPR and the Main Feature Pool. I've always noticed plenty of parking.

Thanks for the advise. What about the size of the murphy bed ? You wrote it was a 63" x 30" bed, which is pretty small ! Is it suitable for an adult ? At phone, they told me not to worry, that it was okay for an adult since I was able to make my reservation for 5 adults. I'm still skeptical...

Our 5'6" teenager sleeps on it with no problem.

What a wonderful thread about CBR! I currently have a reservation for POR which was made before the tickets and dining plan went up. But I am gonna try to switch to CBR if the summer promotion is available. Fingers and toes crossed.

We are booked for Oct 24-31 2016. Reading TripAdvisor reviews has freaked my mom out a bit regarding paper thin walls. We have stayed at POR twice before with no issues. Is it that bad at CBR? Thanks!

Is there anything especially noteworthy to eat at the CBR food court? Not expecting four star food, but we do have a couple of breakfasts and pool day lunches planned there. Just wondering if there are any special suggestions on what we should try. Is there anything that is especially good or unusual (not available anywhere else)? What about snacks, desserts, treats, etc? Anything that stands out? What about the pool bar? Any specialty drinks or snacks worth mentioning?

Thanks!
My husband and I always split the bounty platter for breakfast. More than enough food for both of us and very tasty.

We prefer Martinique over Trinidad North. In my opinion Martinique is closer to Old Port Royale, earlier on the bus stop route and I just like it better!! Corner rooms give you two windows so more natural light. Have a great trip.

Here now, in Jamaica 45, we are in 4553 and family in 4554, rooms are connecting. 4553 has a Murphy bed, 4554 does not. Awesome view, we are right by bridge to head to old port royale, takes maybe 5 minutes to walk over and the walk is beautiful. Luggage just got here, about 3 hours after we arrived.
Tomorrow is time change so we are unpacking and headed to bed early.
If you have ?s let me know, I will try to check back tmrw

Have an awesome time!!

I would love to stay at AKL, but keep getting vetoed by my DD. We had breakfast there in October hoping I could sway her. We walked around the resort for a while and, nope, she didn't care for it even though she loves animals. I have to bribe her to go to AK. I don't get it LOL!!!! She loves WL so I figured she'd love AKL too :confused3
I, as well have no desire to stay at AKL...
I do make it to AK, but go only to FOLK, Flights of Wonder, and Nemo. Lol...
I've never really enjoyed zoos, but absolutely love animals, but don't want to passively look at them. My favorite Florida animal encounters have been to the add on safari at Busch Gardens (where you actually feed and interact with the giraffes) and Discovery Covery swimming with the dolphins.
AK just doesn't do it for me! But, we are both Broadway aficionados, hence the shows and are REALLY looking forward to RoL!
Edited to add: We DO go to Boma at least once per trip, check out the animals and always buy a carved animal to take home. Beautiful African art, museum quality!
