Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

ME question here! We drove last time we were at CBR so if the ME drops guests off at the Custom House how do you get to your building?
I know it's a rather large property. Do you just walk it?

We usually walk. But have also taken the internal bus or if we have all our checked luggage with us Bell Services gives us a ride in one if their vans.

Okay thanks! It's just 2 of us with carry on bags. So maybe we can walk it. Hoping to by pass front desk all together.

We usually stay in Jamaica or Aruba but last time we were in Barbados. It wasn't a very far walk to any of those villages. We typically also wheel all our bags back to Custom House to catch DME at the end of our trip, too. Unless of course, it's raining, then we call bell services the day before.

If I have a gift card I want to apply to my balance after I spend more than I need too on wonderful Disney stuff (my souvenir will be a Disney Vera bag to add to my collection of other Vera bags, lol) do I have to go to customs house or can I do it at the concierge desk at OPR?

The concierge desk at OPR can take care of that for you.

You too? My wife is up to 3 VB purses and one that is larger than a purse...and the Dooney and Bourke wallet.

I'm not there now but will be in 2 weeks. If no one has looked by then I will take some pics and report back. If anyone else needs me to check stuff for them let me know and I will try.

They have a nice Pinot Greg. that we like for $16.95. And we do like a glass at the end of a busy day in the parks, too!

Hey everyone!

We recently returned from our annual trip to the happiest place on earth and had a fabulous time! Thanks to everyone on this board for all of their tips, insights and info!

We were there 1/19 - 1/29. We were originally assigned a room in Barbados. While on the way there, I saw the huge tents they put up in the parking lots to house some of the cheer events that usually take place towards the end of January. No thanks....(the girls are always very nice, but a little too peppy for me). We were allowed to move to Martinique, which turned out to be a wonderful room and location!

Never had any issues with busses. The longest we waited was 7 minutes. The electronic wait times boards were working at Martinique. The times displayed were current, sometimes changing to reflect a late bus.

Never had breakfast at OPR but we had lunch and dinner a few times and ordered a pizza to bring back to the room. I'm not a fan of ANY quick service at resorts or parks (Disney Springs and Tangerine Café excluded) so I will leave it at the meals were edible and that's all. We had dinner a few times at Shutter's and it was good. We have enjoyed dining there previously and again it didn't disappoint. Service at both OPR and Shutter's was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and willing to help at all times. We enjoyed talking with Bill, a 95 year old cast member, really nice guy!

Housekeeping was just OK. We usually drive but decided to fly this year. Therefore we relied more heavily on the things provided in the room. (Normally, we bring our own EVERYTHING). Our beds were always made and the trash disposed of, but other things I always had to check. It was little things, but the fact that it was little things EVERY day that frustrated me. Twice I had to call Housekeeping to receive items, one being toilet paper (we found out the hard way we had none!) Towels were left on the floor for multiple days, coffee but no supplies or supplies but no coffee. She would throw the soap away but not replace it. Or not replenish any toiletries. Again, I usually bring my own toiletries, hand soap, coffee, disposable coffee cups and supplies and even toilet paper (I'm weird...) so I usually don't pay attention to things like that being stocked everyday. But with us flying this year, I guess I just assumed these things would be provided on a consistent basis and we wouldn't have to pack them. It wasn't the worst.

Bell Services were very prompt and helpful. And Concierge Services at OPR were always able to answer my questions and help with any issues I had.

The resort is very beautiful and the grounds are immaculate. Its really a nice get away. You truly feel you are in there tropics.

This was our second time at CBR. We had plans to try every resort, but we were pulled back to this resort due to the fabulous vacation we had previously. It's going to be a hard decision next year deciding where to stay!

Thanks again to everyone, especially @dansdad & @mickeystoontown, you guys do a great job of answering questions and spreading the love of your favorite resort.
Lol i'm weird too as usually take toilet roll as can't be doing with thin cheap loo roll!:scared1: what's the loo roll like at CBR? We usually use asda shades (your equivalent would probably be Wal-Mart own)o_O

Thanks that would be great:flower1:

Ugh! I received a UOC today and I'm on the phone with Disney (on hold). They are saying the code would only apply to preferred rooms at CB thus not saving anything really on our reservation. Grr. I'm taking it to the next level.

Thanks, how dry is that? I'm more of a chardonnay girl :D

Thanks everybody for all of the information. We are arriving tomorrow for stays at CSR and CBR. Our first split stay. We stayed at CBR the last two years. We were set for a change with CSR/POR until we found out about the POR pool. We really liked CBR. Last year I thought Shutters was our best non-Signature meal.

Hello all! We are driving down to Disney this year, and originally written were going to arrive on Saturday. We are spending most of the week at the Poly, but we decided to arrive on Friday and add a day. I have wanted to try Carribean Beach because the resort looks so pretty, but up until last year, it didn't fit our family of 5.

We have only one day at the resort to check it out, so we got a preferred room to be closers to the pool, etc. Any recommendations on building requests?

As preferred you will be in Martinique or Trinidad North. Not much difference in my mind between them.
