I'm staying at CBR for the first time in May. Just wondering if I want to pay our room charge balance during our trip where do I need to go for that?

Are you wanting to pay your charges off with something other than the credit card you put down at check-in? If so, you can visit the front desk at Custom House, and I suspect the concierge at Old Port Royale can do it as well. You'll need to go down the day BEFORE you check-out, as they process the charges during the overnight hours of your check-out day. If you want the charges to go to the credit card linked to your account/Magic Band, then you don't need to do anything and the charges will be applied automatically.

As you charge throughout your stay, keep in mind that CBR will apply the charges to your card once it reaches $1000, so you may want to keep track.

You've got 2 choices the concierge desk at OPR or at the Custom House.

Every resort I have stayed in has automatically charged it to the card I put down for charge purposes at check out. I have never had to go and physically pay.

Thanks, yes I bring gift cards to pay for everything and it's likely we will hit the limit before checkout so the plan was to pay it off a couple times during our trip. That's good to know they can do it at OPR. I wasn't sure if I'd have to get all the way to the Custom House or not.

Yes, like pp we bring gift cards to pay for room charges so we have to do that in person.

My gift cards must not have as much money as y'alls!! :jumping1: I am racking up the points on my Disney Visa so maybe by May I will be able to do that too!

I'm getting worried about the walk. I had read that it was 10 minute walk everywhere, but now I'm reading longer.

I like to walk to food court to get breakfast and take it back to the rooms in the morning. will that be a possibility at CB?

It would totally depend on where your room is or how much you don't mind walking back before eating. We got a preferred room because of the size of the resort but that was mainly to be near the main pool. If you are in a hurry I would probably eat at the food court but if you have the time enjoy the walk! It's a beautiful resort

The amount of walking needed at CBR is one of the most exaggerated details I read on the DIS. The furthest room from OPR is in Building 39 which are all Pirate Themed rooms. That location is about an 12 minute walk at a relaxed pace. We had neighbors of our staying in a Pirate room 2 weeks after our stay and they had heard the "horror stories" about the "20-25" minute walks to OPR and the main pool. (As an aside, it only takes 20 minutes to walk around the entire lake) So during our stay I went to the furthest point of Building 39 and went up to the 2nd floor and found the furthest room. I timed my walk to OPR at it was 12 minutes. That included me stopping and taking about 10 pictures along the way as the scenery is just beautiful.

We love Jamaica 45 which is about a 4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR. My estimation is that 75% of the non-preferred rooms are between 4-7 minute walk to OPR and the main pool. Some of the closest non-preferred locations are

Jamaica 44 and 45
Aruba 51 and 52
Martinique 21, 22 and 23

The above 7 buildings are between 3-6 minute walk.

We have stayed in Barbados 11, Jamaica 45 and Jamaica 41 and I would run for breakfast to bring back to the room for all of us while my wife and son got ready and it was a breeze from all three locations. It never once felt like a chore.

Great information! I know that makes me feel a ton better. I stayed here 21 years ago as a kid but you never notice stuff like distance when you are young. I am looking forward to the scenery. How long would a bus trip be to MK from the resort? What would be the longest bus ride?

Glad to help. Here are travel times in minutes from my notes over the years:

Magic Kingdom 15-17
Epcot 7-9
Hollywood Studios 6-8
Animal Kingdom 9-11
Blizzard Beach 7-9
Typhoon Lagoon 6-8
Downtown Disney 7-9

I've updated the Beach Bum Roll Call...finally. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 Sorry for the delay! As I said earlier, this "new" Dis and I aren't gettin' along too very well. I really liked it when we got email notifications instead of the "alerts". Thanks to everybody who has helped answer questions while I have been off doing other things.

Any updates on what buildings have been completed? The 1st page update is from Jan. so I hope they've completed more :beach:

Nothing newer than what was posted on the first page. Hopefully, someone who is going soon can give us an update.
