Roll call April 18-24.

Last year was my first visit to CBR and I had a wonderful time. Can't wait for my trip in April!

Have made dining reservations at:

Kona Cafe - Breakfast, 1st visit
Rose & Crown - Lunch, 3rd visit  Shepherd's Pie
Plaza Restaurant - Lunch, 2nd visit
Hoop Dee Doo Revue - 1st visit

Just got back yesterday. Stayed in Martinique Building 25, preferred room, we were the first to stay in our room. Beautiful, but the beds were really hard on our backs. They were almost finished with building 26.

Well we go in late May so all of you soften the beds for us

When will the resort be completely done with the renovations so we don't have to worry about getting a renovated room or not?

Hey there...

Pretty sure we will be visiting CBR 8/16-24 this year. Our first trip to this resort. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids, 15,12 &8 who have been to The World many times.

All of the kids will be within 2 months of turning the next age, so in essence I will have 2 teens with me. This leaves me wondering how the teens in your party have enjoyed this resort? I know my 8 year old will be delighted at the theming-especially at the pool. :)

We love this resort! I think teens would like it too, but we do not have teens yet. There are two slides in the pool area one is good for the little ones, and one is bigger for the older kids and they have activities in the afternoon at the pool that looked like fun, but we were just going to the food court when we saw the afternoon games. They were playing music and doing trivia type games. Looked like it would be fun for all ages. The quiet pools are also nice if they want to get away from all the kids in the main pool. We did the quiet pools at times and it was really nice, the kids can still play and goof around, but it is not the hectic hustle of the main pool. We did not venture into the video game area, but I'm sure there would be stuff in there for them.

Thanks for the refurb update trampsgirl!! There are Murphy beds in preferred rooms too, right?

Just back from 13night stay. Stayed in Martinique 23. First people in refurb room so all brand new. Room smelt of paint on entry but this wore off day by day. Great position near to bus stop and not too far from OPR. I found beds to be comfortable no issues. Not keen on new decor, but just a personal thing. Room had full size hairdryer and light up mirror but no Murphy bed which we didn't need. Pool was great. The refurb was happening quickly, I watched rooms being completed day by day. Refurb had no impact on my stay. Only issues with cheerleaders the last couple of days. They do take over the resort, food court, pool and buses even taking over the beaches and car parks for practice. Had a group in room next to us, issues with loud noise, banging doors, loud mobile phone conversations on the balcony outside our door late at night and early morning. We knew all their business due to the adult chaperone standing at the doorway and shouting instructions rather than enterin g the room. Luckily right at end of stay so could deal with it. Definitely removed any relaxation element. Had good stay in the main but would try to avoid cheerleaders next time.

I'm there next Friday and would be happy to check - I'm guessing just ask at the front desk??

Yes, that would be the place to ask questions as they are usually kept up to date on what's going on. Thanks and have a great trip!

Hi guys. In the middle of booking adrs and writing packing lists!

Would anyone know if the sell swimming goggles in the shop? Preferably the uv tinted kind?

Many thanks x

I have seen the goggles for sale in the resort store but I'm not sure if they are the uv tinted kind.

What are the favorite CS options in the OPR? Breakfast and dinner? We do have reservations for Shutters one night. The menu looks fun!

As someone else said, the money cupcake is really good. The soup in the pizza and pasta station is good too. Let's see....oh yeah, the reuben sandwich is delish.

Any updates on the refurb? Wondering if all the standard rooms are done. Last I checked there were 2 more buildings in Martinique, but wasn't sure if Martinique was all standard rooms or if some were preferred. Trying to guess our probability of getting a new room when we arrive on the 21st :)

All of the standard rooms are complete. Martinique Buildings 21, 22 and 23 are non-preferred.

DH and I will be at CBR May 14-17th. On the 14th we plan on doing Epcot (we have an early morning flight). I was thinking we would hit either Cape May or Beaches and Cream for a late dinner after the park closes. I know we can walk from Epcot to Beach Club, but what's the best way to get back to CBR from there? Will we have to go back to Epcot and take a bus to CBR?

As someone said above, since Epcot will be closed, you won't be able to walk through the park to the buses. However, you could always take a cab back to the resort or take a bus to DTD and then back to the CBR.

What products are in the bathroom when you arrive? Is there shampoo and conditioner, or is it an all in one product? Body lotion? I usually bring all my own, but I'm trying to cut down on luggage weight because I'm a terrible packer when it comes to that kind of stuff.

We weren't given any body lotion when we were there in May, 2014 but we were supplied with Shampoo and conditioner.

Roll call April 18-24.

I'll get you added to the list as soon as I am done with replies. You have some really good ADRs. We are also giving Kona a try when we go back in May. Hoop Dee Doo Revue is great!

My kids (both teenagers at the time) really liked the resort. The resort is not over the top Disney or piratey (yes, I made that up LOL) so the teenagers will still enjoy the resort. They can hang out at the pool, on the beach or rent a bicycle from the resort marina. Sometimes, there are enough people on the beach to get a volleyball game going.

I would suggest that you contact Disney and make them aware of the impact that the cheerleaders had on your stay. They need to know so that they can try to improve things for future guests. We once stayed while there was a baseball tournament going on and while most were well behaved there were a few people who needed an attitude adjustment.

Hello! Please add me to the list! We are booked for November 20-28th. We haven't been to WDW since 2012, so I need to research all the changes since then...FP+, the change to the GAC, all the new attractions, etc! We have never stayed at CBR, plus we have never been on vacation during Thanksgiving....Ah! LOL Anyway, this thread is great, thanks for all of the hard work, I'm more excited about this resort then ever!

Add us to roll call- September 4th thru 12th! Hoping we get tickets for a MNSSHP and Night of Joy!

Question- on our first night, we are debating on dinner at Shutters or dinner at Old Port Royal Food Court. Is Shutters worth the price? I would get 10% off with my Visa as well. I just never see many reviews Of it on the boards.
