Thank you! I should have thought of that since I know they are at POFQ. (We gave up our King Bed room there when we thought our kids were coming with us.) We have a good deal at Movies with the military discount in a preferred room with a king bed request, but we both think either way we'd be happier at CBR. I don't know why I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I guess in hopes something opens up with the military discount.

I see you over at the Wine and Dine forum. I stayed here last March. It is a FABULOUS place to run. I don't know if your wine and dine trip will include a maintenance run, but it really is pretty.

Hi everyone! I looked back through much of the thread but can't find the answer to my question:

Can I pay off the amount charged to my magicband at the concierge desk in Old Port Royale or will I need to trek to the Customs House to do it?

TIA!!

We were able to make payments at the Concierge Desk in Old Port Royale just this past May/June.

Yes you can! The only thing you can not do in OPR is check in and out. :)

Continuing with this theme......when are charges actually posted to our cc if we choose to charge things to our room? I want to pay any extra expenses using disney gift cards but I like the convenience of charging to our room account. It would be swell if the charges weren't posted until close to the end because I'd rather not have to go every night to pay off the charges.

Also, regarding our last day.....(it seems a shame to even think about checking out when we aren't even there yet) but our flight doesn't leave until 5:35pm. I had planned to do a F&W demo/seminar at noon and another one at 1pm (they run 45 min long). I can't remember but is it 3 hours before flight that DME picks us up? This means a 2:30pm pick up time. I'm fairly sure we wouldn't have any trouble leaving Epcot right after the demo at 1:45pm and I'm confident we would make it back to the resort in plenty of time to catch the DME. What I'm NOT sure about how the luggage situation works. We've always had earlier flights and we've walked to where the DME picks up with all of our luggage in tow. I know we leave our luggage with bell services....it wouldn't take long to get our luggage and hop on the bus, would it?

Good to know! The Galloway training schedule has a maintenance run the morning we check out. We're driving so could easily fit it in, but we'll see how ambitious we are. We are doing CA grill dinner/fireworks the night before we check out. I have a feeling that at that point I might be quite anxious to see my babies...and my dad will be anxious for us to relieve him! ;)

We actually did check-in at OPR. We just got back from 8 days at CBR. Honestly, I liked CSR more. The hubs preferred CBR. Could be that I was there in Feb, and CSR didn't seem that busy, but CBR seemed to have a hot body in every seat, in OPR, @ the main pool, @ the quiet pool. Didn't love Mousekeeping, but wasn't impressed at CSR either. Have a three year old with questionable aim, so I notice things that get missed, and usually end up cleaning it up myself. The concierge we dealt with did NOT love her job, could have just been how busy they were. That being said, we had some good family time and some magical moments. Mousekeeping thought a box with some souvenir toys was trash and we didn't realize it until later that day. Cue meltdown, called the front desk, they didn't have it in stock, checked with the Parks, no replacements available - credited our account for the cost of the toys. hubs wants to return, kiddo does too - mommy is probably out voted on this one. Of course, mommy does all the booking, walking to OPR every morning, food planning... Aruba 5555 was our request. we got it! Kid loved the Murphy bed, but wouldn't sleep in it.

Thank you for that information..I was wondering that too. One more question....Does the concierge desk have more than a couple people to help at once?

I have only ever noticed 1 CM working the Concierge Desk. But I have to say, I don't think people realize that the desk is there or that they can help them because I never, and I mean never, see anybody there. The CM always looks so lonely.

YES! I can still picture the CM from our 2012 trip. Just sitting there. All alone. Every time we walked by.

The spending limit at Moderates is $1000, so they shouldn't run your Credit Card until you reach that amount. Or if you haven't reached the limit, your Credit Card will get charged around 1-2AM the night before you check out. Having said that, there have been some reports here on the DIS that resorts have been running charges on peoples credit cards when they reach about 50% of the limit. When questioned, the CMs have said that they were running into a lot of guests who didn't have enough room on their credit card when they would try to run them. Our friends were just down there at CBR and had $1200 worth of charges that they weren't run until the night before they checked out. So they don't always run them early, but wanted you to be aware it has happened.

We usually hit the Concierge desk every 3-4 days and pay our balance with Gift Cards and have never had an issue.

Yes, ME pick up is normally 3 hours prior to your departure time. I have to say, I would be very uncomfortable with getting back to CBR an on our ME bus in time if we went to that 1:00PM Demo at F&W. Here's the thing, if the Demo is over at 1:45, by the time you get to the bus stop it'll probably be 2:00. Say the CBR bus just left and the next one gets there at 2:20. That would get you at CBR around 2:28 and then you'll have to walk from the Barbados bus stop to the Custom House. Then you have to get your stuff from Bell Services. I know from experience, the ME bus will not wait for you and you are not guaranteed to be put on the next one. I've seen many a family have to take a cab to MCO.

But if you do decide to try it, you'll need to also allow a few minutes to get any belongings you left with Bell Services. Sometimes we walk right up and sometimes there's a line of people and it takes 15-20 minutes to get your stuff.

I have searched through most of this thread but I am sure I missed some pages skipping around. Did I miss a detailed room map? I have one of POR that was nice because you can get a really good idea where individual rooms were in relation to stairs, smoking area etc. If anyone can direct me to one I would very much appreciate it. This thread is fantastic and so very helpful!

I don't have such a map and haven't seen one in the previous CBR threads here on the Dis.

Thanks...wanted to make sure I was not missing one. I guess people who are requesting specific rooms have been before and know the room number they want. When you check in will they give you a map with specific rooms so you can clearly see where your room is?

I ran into the problem at POR one year when they gave us a room. We should have asked to see where it was specifically because it was right next to the stairs in a dark area (just did not feel good). They were kind and changed the room but be because we had already opened the door to the room we had to change rooms the next day and it was just a bit of a pain.

It is not recommended to ask for a specific room number. If you do that and it's not available, the room assigner has no idea why you requested that room. It is always best to describe what you want in your requests, "close to food court", "upper floor", "1st floor". We always request Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor and have had great luck. Also it's best to list your requests in order of importance.

Yes, when you check in at the front desk the CM will give you a map a circle exactly where your room is.

There were 3 there last Christmas. I know because they were all trying to get us back into our room. LOL We stayed one night at POFQ when we got to Disney and moved the next day to CBR. The morning we were supposed to check out our magic bands all of the sudden shifted back to POFQ and locked us out. This was definitely a magic band problem and not a CBR problem. Gotta love glitches in magic bands huh?

Only place I've seen something similar is on Touring Plans

On another note, I woke up this morning to a sign in the kitchen from one of my kids. Apparently we have 18 days left to go!
