Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

DisCatGirl - You are going to LOVE the cottage. We stayed in one last December. Talk about spoiled! We were in 1205. It was really nice because it has a covered balcony right off the upstairs bedroom. Hope you have a wonderful time - enjoy the luxury!

Hi all!!!

My mom and I are looking to stay at the Boardwalk Villas in December :santa: (celebrating my birthday late this year since I like Christmas MUCH better than Halloween). We haven't stayed there since I was very little (our room was over Spoodles, which may show how long ago it was...also, the resort may have been new or newer back then) and have stayed mostly at POR for the last few years (with one year at AOA). I'm wondering what to expect and how people's experiences have been recently. I know I'll have to stay away from the pool area (I'm MASSIVELY afraid of clowns and I remember the slide was a clown) but that's all I know. I've loved visiting the resort while staying at others and stopping by to eat, and lose a tooth at Spoodles a few years after we stayed there ;-) But the best part is I don't remember much about the resort besides having a chocolate chip cookie from the bakery for breakfast, much to my grandma's dismay :cutie:, and eating it on the balcony while sitting next to my late grandfather and riding on a surrey bike with my mom and grandfather so I'm ready to make new memories. Please share your experiences with me?

Thanks!!! :thanks:

Excited for our first stay at the bwv 9/1-9/16! My only concern is we are usually quick service breakfast eaters, where is the closest quick service area (besides the bakery looking for something a little more substantial) or should we be prepared to do table service for our stay?

Does anyone know when the renovations on Seashore Sweets will be done and what it is going to be once it's done? We'll be staying in a Deluxe CL room from 6/28 through 7/1 and we usually get a room above Seashore Sweets. I'm hoping construction will be done by then.

Thanks!

Try the Dolphin if you want a more substantial a/k/a more than continental breakfast. Picabu has a cafeteria style morning offering and opens early.

It's been a few years since i stayed at the Boardwalk, so i was wondering since the news is that the ice cream shoppe is moving to the ESPN location, what is being constructed at Seashore Sweets?

Well, the vacation will soon be over as we will check out tomorrow to drive back home. The parks were crazy busy, well, busier than I've ever seen them except for one park capacity day at MK 4 or 5 years ago over Columbus Day weekend.

While we did parks every day, we were limited with how much time we spent at the BWV. We enjoyed dinner at ESPN the night of check in, the Bellevue Lounge a couple nights after the park, and watching the Star Wars fireworks from the Boardwalk (although the music isn't played in like at BLT and is difficult to hear). The best part of it all was being able to walk back from DHS & Epcot and escape crowded buses or monorails after super crowded days.

I think this Spring Break was more crowded than our trip last summer in the last week of June.

If anyone is interested, I finished my semi-live trip report. It has the last several years worth, but the most recent trip starts on page 30, four posts down. I'm not wordy, and it mostly has pictures of my girls with Disney backgrounds.

Goodnight all and viva la Boardwalk Resort.

I don't have the answer, but Flying Fish is not scheduled to reopen until November. There have been rumors that the Seashore Sweets will become part of Flying Fish, possibly as a bar/lounge area. So it is very likely that there will still be construction during your stay. I do know Disney is very careful to limit noise inconvenience to reasonable hours - usually 9am-5pm.

Is the restaurant going to stay Flying Fish? The rumors I heard weren't clear. I didn't hear that ESPN was closing. Really? Did all close on April 2nd? I'm going to be at the villas next month for a week and I'm sorry that the Flying Fish and Seashore Sweets will be closed. I assume the Bakery will remain open?

ESPN is still open. It's the yard arcade that was attached to it that closed and where the new ice creamery will be located. BW Bakery is open too.
