Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Those are almost our exact dates but we will be in a 1br villa!

Wow how ironic! I love when other people from here are in Disney at the same time as us! Last July 4, I posted a picture of our view at Poly and someone on here posted that they must be right near us -- and they were! Only 2 rooms down from us!

Hi! DH and I are going back for our second stay at BWV next Monday. Has anyone done the Boardwalk Ballyhoo Tour recently ( or not so recently)? We are considering this on our check out day before driving to cruise port for our first Disney cruise. I'd love to hear if people think it would be worth it. Thanks!

Any recommendations on requests to make for a water view room in early May? Would like to avoid construction if possible and be able to enjoy the balcony. Thanks for all the helpful info in this thread. So far I've only gone back a few pages but will take the time to explore more.

Well, the vacation will soon be over as we will check out tomorrow to drive back home. The parks were crazy busy, well, busier than I've ever seen them except for one park capacity day at MK 4 or 5 years ago over Columbus Day weekend.

While we did parks every day, we were limited with how much time we spent at the BWV. We enjoyed dinner at ESPN the night of check in, the Bellevue Lounge a couple nights after the park, and watching the Star Wars fireworks from the Boardwalk (although the music isn't played in like at BLT and is difficult to hear). The best part of it all was being able to walk back from DHS & Epcot and escape crowded buses or monorails after super crowded days.

I think this Spring Break was more crowded than our trip last summer in the last week of June.

If anyone is interested, I finished my semi-live trip report. It has the last several years worth, but the most recent trip starts on page 30, four posts down. I'm not wordy, and it mostly has pictures of my girls with Disney backgrounds.

Goodnight all and viva la Boardwalk Resort.
Thanks for sharing your report! Looks like you had a great trip...... nothing like travelling with teens! I have three myself but all boys so a little less drama but lots of goofiness!

What are the bathrooms at the BWI like? We stayed in a BWV Studio, and I was disappointed in our bathroom. Because the sink area is outside the bathroom, the bathroom is small. But what really bothered me was the dim lighting in the bathroom. Hopefully the BWI bathrooms are better lit.

We did this tour in August 2013. It was me, DH & DD 4.5 yrs old (at the time) We were the only ones on the tour, but the CM didn't make us feel bad about it. He really customized the tour for us and went at our pace. It starts in the lounge upstairs, reviewing the decorations and artwork, moving down to the lobby to view & discuss the carousal horses on the ceiling. He talked about the castle painting behind the check-in desk and a few other notable pieces of art in the lobby. Moving outside, we looked at the Luna Carousal near the pool and then went to the Boardwalk. The tour normally heads towards Jellyrolls first, but we skipped that part and went into Seashore Sweets for a sample and to discuss things in there. Of course that part of the tour will be different for you.
Overall I'm very glad I did the tour because it helps you to notice all the details that Disney puts in (and I wasn't sure if/when I would stay at the Boardwalk again (turns out we are staying again) but I was happy to learn as much as I could about the resort.
Since then, I have taken the Boma/Jiko tour and the Sanaa tour at AKL. I think it's a nice little perk for Disney to offer tours like this.

It is a small world! Last spring break at BC CL we were there with someone else from the Dis who even had twins my kids age! Alas, we never ran into each other in the lounge

Wait - I think that was me! I'll bet if we look back in this thread, we will see we talked about this! Mine are twin girls almost 13 and we stayed at BC CL last easter break. This easter break we were at RPC.

Ok that is totally crazy! I did not remember it was you! Too bad we aren't staying club level this time! Funny we are on the same vacation schedule :)

On the BWI side, the sinks are also outside of the room with the tub/shower and toilet. I liked that. I did not notice that the light in the bathroom was particularly dim -- it was definitely not as bright and airy as the sink vanity area, but the difference in brightness did not bother me in any of the BWI rooms we've had. We stayed in a BWV studio the first two times we stayed at BW; since then we've been on the BWI side which I like a lot better.

We were pretty much on top of the construction, our room was next to the Steeplechase suite and honestly you wouldn't have known it at all. DH and I took a midday nap without any issues. I honestly think the powerwasher for the sidewalks and landscaping equipment seemed louder when we walked around the resort. Not to mention the balcony early morning and at night is "where it's at" and there's no construction at those hours. Maybe request higher floor :)

We will be at BWI this summer and have a early breakfast in Epcot. It has been a long time since we did this, do we still enter at IG entrance forcearly ADR's?

For those headed to WDW this week and concerned about the lingering Spring Break crowds from last week, things seem to have gotten a better so far this week. I've been checking wait times at the MK for the first two hours of the day to see where crowds tend to build first (other than Mine Train, PP, Space and Anna/Elsa, of course, which are always mobbed even at rope drop).

April 6, easyWDW predicted a crowd level of 5 and did not recommend MK due to evening EMH, and at 10:30am here was a sampling of the posted wait times:
- Big Thunder 65 mins
- Haunted Mansion 30 mins
- Pirates 30 mins
- Splash 35 mins (it was chilly in the AM)

Today, April 11, easyWDW predicted crowd level of 5 and again MK not recommended, 10:30am wait times:
- Big Thunder 30
- Haunted Mansion 10 mins
- Pirates 10
- Splash 15 (actually about 73 at 10:30am today, so almost 10 degrees warmer than April 6)

So that's some good news!

We just got back from our stay at Boardwalk Villas. We had a studio- room 4060. The sudio was refurbished and worked out very well for my family of 4. My girls fought over who got to sleep on the murphy bed and the pull out couch was surprisingly very comfortable. We overlooked the Luna Park Pool and could see the Hollywood Studios fireworks at night. It was close to the elevator too, which was handy. The balcony was a solid wall. I would have preferred a open balcony- but the wall was nice for the chilly mornings.
We absolutely loved this resort! It was so nice to walk to Epcot (our favorite park) and Hollywood Studios. It was nice to come back to the Boardwalk at night and have a funnel cake and watch street performers. The girls loved the community center and the quiet pool.
The only complaint I have is the bus service was very slow. It took us a half hour to get a bus to Magic Kingdom in the morning. At least we didn't have to take the bus that much.

By the way Kook, I did not get wanded but DW did at Epcot. Apparently, you women have to be selected often enough to counteract the profiling of men who might commit violence. Apparently, I'm not menacing enough to scare a ladybug.

Yes. There are CMs there and just let them know and they will direct you thru. Have your ADR # or phone with you so you can pull it up MDE just in case.

We were right down the hall in 4081. It was far busier than expected last week. The CM radioed for a bus one day to MK. I agree - the short walk to DHS and Epcot are perks.

Thank you. On the same note I thought I read that there is now a bus from the Epcot resorts to take you to the front entrance of Epcot. Can anyone verify this ?

There was a bus from BLT/ CR to Epcot for early morning breakfast ADR before monorail run. However, I'm not sure about Boardwalk. Hope someone else knows.
