Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

I'm on the Magical Depress, but it's all good we will be back!!! 7/28-29 in a CL 2 br suite (since all the CL rooms were sold out) and 7/29-8/5 standard CL (2 rooms) we are SO excited to get back to BWI :) what a magical place!!!

Just had to say our tickers are almost the same and we are celebrating 20 yrs too. Have a great time and Happy Anniversary!

Yay! You, too! :) We had our honeymoon at WDW, so nice to go back and celebrate 20 years.

We are a family of 5 staying in a standard view at BWI...do all rooms have two queens and the daybed? Do I need to specifically request that with the reservation?

We are also a family of 5 and are always given 2 queens and a daybed. I have never requested it.

I'm not sure but I think all rooms at BWI have a daybed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

How is the parking? I read a warning as I went to book our room for June that we may not be able to park at the resort if we drive in? We always drive to Disney so we will definitely have a car, but I do not want to pay for Valet parking on top of all the other expenses of Disney. I am fine with parking myself as we usually never use the car again until we leave so not worried about being close, just want a spot to park in.

Someone who checked in yesterday said she found a spot and saw about 10 other spots in the same area.

There is another thread about this here: http://disboards.com/threads/self-parking-at-the-boardwalk-inn-update.3437368/
Someone who checked in yesterday said there was ample parking. That was my experience last August and December. DH and I will be there next month -- he is driving, I'm flying -- I'm not even telling him about the parking situation because it will just tick him off before he gets there. We have stayed at BWI several times at various times of the year and whenever I've had a car, it has not been a problem parking. You might not get a shady or close spot, but . . .

I have commented before, but I was there last year in mid-August and during F&W and neither time did we have any issue parking. There were a lot of empty spaces every time we pulled in.

I agree with PP, I'm 99% sure that every room that has 2 queen beds also has a sofa-bed. (*I'm not talking about CL, just regular rooms.) They will not allow you to stay in a room with a King bed, so no need to put in a special request for sofa-bed.

Questions regarding the Luna Park Pool:
Do they check bands at all like they do at SAB? Also, does this pool get crazy busy making it difficult to find lounge chairs?

We have stayed several times in May and October--sometimes they checked, other times not. I have also been near the pool in the summer (passing through to DHS from BC) and they were checking resort IDs. It does get busy--no question, but we have always found a chair or two.

Perfect...thanks so much!

We arrived Sunday around 3:00 PM and were able to self-park. Not as many close spaces as before. There were CMs standing guard at self-parking areas.

They have a sign up about Magic Bands, but there isn't a single entrance to the pool like ay SAB and one CM scanning bands.
