Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

So you're now a second timer?! I'd be happy to add your dates and welcome back![/QUOTE]

Hahaha! I thought about that back when I first joined the boards and picked the profile name. After we returned from our first trip I just knew that we would always be a "First timer" with something at Disney! :flower1:

Thank you so much for adding our dates and for all the valuable information you provide! :sunny:

As far as I know they were only working on the 5th floor about a month ago.
Anxious for the answer myself as we arrive in 20 days! :yay:
Thank you! Curious to hear how they are progressing.

The information on this thread is amazing, thank you!

Greetings Everyone - TIA for any suggestions you may have. I'm really excited to be staying the first time an Epcot-area hotel. We have stayed in the past in the Contemporary - Garden Wings and POR. First time at BWI. We reserved a standard room. However, we'd prefer not to get a view of the parking lot. In the past, I've had great luck faxing my room requests over to the room assignment team in advance of our stay in addition to making my requests on-line.

However, I've read conflicting information about the room assignment team at the BWI. 1) do they still take faxes at the BWI? 2) If yes, is the best fax number still 407-934-6000?

Again, thank you all for your suggestions.
We have stayed at the BWI 8 times and I have never seen a parking lot. We always end up facing the inner court yard. Last time we stayed we had a view of France & the Eiffel Tower.
I prefer standard view to Boardwalk/lake view. The boats wake me up in the morning.

Is the "texting" feature available now at BWI CL? Last summer while staying CL at CR, we were able to text concierge for almost anything (directions, showtimes, shopping info, and my favorite: additional FP!). It was magical! pixiedust:I sure hope they're rolling this out to BWI for our trip in July! Anybody know?

Paid in Full and did Online check in today. Requested a Boardwalk View and Near Elevator. We are staying in a Standard Club Level Room and will be there a week starting 6/7, so I did not check the box to prioritize the room being ready at early arrival over our requests. Although any room will be great to me since we will be at Disney World!

Hi Everyone! I came on the board to check out if they sold bottled water and what else they had. Your coverage of what is sold in the grocery store (General Store?) is amazing - thank you!! I was going to make a garden grocer order but I think I can get by with what is in the store!

I really want to get a case or 2 of water. Does anyone know how much a case is? I also saw that Hess was across the street. Is that walkable if we were to get a case there?

Do they put out a new Movies Under the Stars schedule every month? I think the kids are determined to watch a movie this time :)

We are so excited to be going back and staying at Boardwalk for SWW!!

I'm not sure how much a case is - you might search for 'case of water' on these boards; somewhere I thought I saw a thread with that in the title very recently - possibly on the Budget Board? And the Hess is *definitely* walkable, though I'd personally recommend fairly early in the morning as you're crossing a four lane street (with a median in the middle, I think) to get to either a driveway that cars are pulling into or the grass - i.e., not directly to a sidewalk. The later in the day, the more traffic you'll have to contend with.

There should be a new schedule every month, yes.

Thank you! I had done a search for case of water but only saw buying it from other places and having it shipped (then they charge 10.00 for handling fee, so kinda defeats the purpose). I would say how costly can it be, but I think we all know the answer to that :) We will run to Hess. Thanks for the info on the sidewalks - that is what I was concerned about!

Everything I have seen says a case is $6.50. Cheap enough for me to not run all over to buy a case of water somewhere else :-)

I can't say enough about the BWI staff & the CL staff. They have been amazing for our first stay here. Especially with me getting hurt yesterday & spending 4 hours at Celebration Hospital. They helped my sister rearrange dining reservations & between calls from the MK to the BWI - they had a wheelchair ready for my use for today. The food has been great in the lounge & readily available. It's been a great family vacation & I can't wait to come back. Too bad we have to leave tomorrow.

$6.50?! SOLD!!

Cases of water are currently selling for $16.99 in the resort gift shops. They are twenty-four 16.9 oz bottles.

This thread reports $6.50 as do the grocery order forms on the Dvc website...

I don't know about DVC, but I do know that at POR, POFQ, CBR, Pop, and BC they currently are selling cases for $16.99. I will see if my family that was down last week at these resorts happen to take any pictures, but I only asked them to find out the prices.

I guess I have mistakenly assumed all the resorts would be the same $$.

Very interesting. That thread has confirmation from CSR, Poly and BWI at $6.50. Wonder why they would have different prices?

You can walk from the Boardwalk to the Hess station. It's probably no more then a ten minute walk. They have cases of water if I remember correctly.

This is my first stay in DVC where I will not have a car - I forgot all about the grocery order forms (still a newbie here!). Thank you all for the information! If they are 16.99 I will for sure be going to Hess!!

It's possible that there are two different sizes of the bottles - the grocery order form for Boardwalk says that the 24 pack of Dasani water for $6.39 is for 12 ounce bottles. Those are pretty small bottles, right?
