Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Sorry the kids moved out, but congrats to them on their new home. Will they still be close?
I think a nice Tower Club or RPC trip in February would be a very nice distraction.😁
To stay on topic, we have BWI booked for the end of October but will probably change to November or early December if we can get a BB for a deluxe room or cottage. Right now neither one is available only standard rooms.
They moved back to Northern VA! No it’s 5 hours.

I booked a maybe Tower CL king for my birthday weekend in April just before baby due.

See how things go. I’d love to get back sooner!

Right now I’m booked Halloween at BWI! That would be fun!

Sorry they are moving back to Virginia.

We are at BWI until the 30th,hope we overlap. Since we were there this year on the same dates I would rather go in November when the Christmas decorations are up, but if I can't get a cottage or deluxe room I will keep the October dates.

Happy New Year

New to BW: where do you get Chicken Nuggets —mom of a 10-yr-old
I do not believe there is any place to get chicken nuggets on the Boardwalk currently. Since Boardwalk Joe's closed and reopened as Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, corn dogs and fried mozzarella are the only walk up fryer foods available.
Across Crescent Lake, between Yacht Club and Beach Club there are chicken strips with french fries available at Hurricane Hanna's.

How is the noise on the Villas side overlooking the Luna Park Pool? I am assuming it picks up in the afternoon?

When the pool activities are taking place and the cast members are shouting on microphones, there is no avoiding the noise from any villa facing the feature pool. I find it festive sounding because I know the kids in the pool are having a great time, so it doesn't bother me, but if I had anyone in the room that needed an afternoon nap I would book a different category or stay on the Inn side.

Thanks. I'm getting a DVC rental - Pool / Garden View so I'll be on the villas side. My kids are past napping age, but we'll probably take a midday break from the parks at the resort. On our rest days, I know my kids will be at the pool anyways. I'm just debating on requesting something overlooking the quiet pool, but worried about the walk to the lobby, boardwalk, Epcot, etc.

It is not really that far it just appears that way in the long boring hallway. You are looking at 7 minutes from the furthest room vs 5 from a Luna Park pool view room.

Dave
I agree with Dave. I've had villas facing the feature pool and facing the quiet/DVC pool many times each. I've never thought there was any significant difference in the time it took to walk to the elevators.
I will add, on our last visit, we were given a first floor villa. I initially wasn't thrilled but it turned out to be amazing in terms of getting in and out of the building quickly and rarely needing the elevators.

OH! Speaking of "the long boring hallway" that you mentioned @Dave006, I hate the new carpet since the refurb! It couldn't be any more boring! I now realize that that crazy, colorful carpet they removed kept my mind occupied on those longish walks back to the room.

Thanks. I've seen other people complaining about a long tredge from the quiet pool, but good to hear otherwise.

Thanks. I've seen comments on touring plans about lights being on over looking the quiet pool at night and making it difficult to get the room dark. You experience anything like that?

You are definitely going to do a lot of walking at BWI/BWV. There's really no way around it since it's a lot of units in a non-tower configuration. I think the main point is that it's pretty much a wash between the varying view categories. If you need to use the elevators the only thing that makes a real difference distance wise is how close you are to them.

I have never noticed that. There are blackout curtains on all of the windows/patio doors.

I haven't stayed at BWV since the refurb, but typical advice is to clip the two drapes together where they almost meet in the middle. Clothes pins or chip clips will do. A hanger with clips (for pants or a skirt) also will work.
