Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

We ordered from the pizza window one night and ate on the boardwalk
No complaints on the pizza
For what it is worth - we had lunch at big river on arrival day - we did not have a reservation and the food was good - we enjoyed it
My daughter loves the pizza from the window and orders it every time.

Seriously, we will never again!

Also, I read an interesting article today speculating the introduction of Disney IP into the resorts theming of the rooms.

They referenced the trend of Poly, Contemporary and Grand Floridian all getting IP infused refreshes which could indicate a potential IP infusion into Boardwalk. I thought it was interesting to think about and if so what IP would fit or would people want?
Oh I hope not. I can't even imaging what IP they would use that would be fitting.

See, that is exactly what I was thinking. Something akin to what Riviera has in the lobby. That is a great spot.
And hopefully it will be open all day.

I think that without Bob Iger, we're at the point where "what people want" doesn't matter.

Take as you would any rumor, but I saw on Twitter a report from someone who was at Belle Vue last night and was told the coffee shop was going in the space currently occupied by the sundries shop on the DVC side.

I think it’s a good spot for it. We always stop in there but never bought anything. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else in there either. We also noticed when we stayed both last summer and Christmas, there was always a closed sign on the door during the day. I think it would make better use of the space. The lobby would smell great, too! 😋

Sadly I think you are right but it is so baffling. You would think that someone who grew up going to Disney would have a better understanding of what Disney guests would want.

Interesting. I've always thought it was too small for a sundries shop, so IMHO it's probably too small for a nice coffee shop. I do like the idea of not having to go out into the weather (those who have been there in Florida rain know what I mean) to grab a bite.

So I just found out that there is a Speedway close to Boardwalk??
How close? can you walk there?

That is game changer, I will be there for the first time, and I will just buy wine, beer and few grocery items there instead of doing instacart

It's really just across the street. Considering the walking we do at WDW, not far at all. There's a sidewalk along Epcot Resorts Blvd. if you leave the hotel at the side where the busses come in by the Convention Center.

The Screen Door store on the Boardwalk will have all of that, albeit not a huge selection either. You might check there first, before you go to Speedway, and save yourself the walk if they have what you need.
But the prices will be much higher right? I don't mind paying a couple of bucks extra for groceries, but $20 for a mediocre bottle of wine or a 6 pack? Usually you can get something better at speedway for that price
