Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Yes, pickup time is 3 hours prior for ME and you will probably stop at other resorts so it takes more time to get to the airport than expected. I would probably do a CMC breakfast instead.

Thanks for chiming in. I know that would be the responsible thing to do. I want to spend the last morning at MK so I'm trying to convince myself it's doable. I'm also mad at myself for not getting the later flight when it was available. I kept waiting for the price to go down and instead it sold out. Grrrrr.

:wave2: I have a question.

The good news is that I just booked a week at the Boardwalk with the Visa discount. My twelfth resort, first Epcot resort.

When you get a Visa discount room, did you simply call the normal Disney resort reservation # or a special Visa #?

Thanks for answering.

I returned last night from a week at Grand Floridian (4 nights) and BWI (3 nights). This trip was my Aunt (a young 71) and myself. While we enjoyed our room at GF (Conch Key with a view of the marina), the *magic* happened for us at BWI!! I have lurked often on this and the GF thread, but didn't pay much attention to any Club Level posts -- why torture myself, right?!!!

When we checked in, we were offered a (paid) upgrade to Club Level!! The price was right and we jumped on it!!

The entire experience was bliss (but those of you who have stayed CL there already know that!! ;)) The real reason for this post is that today (Sunday, October 2) -- one day too late for our stay -- they are rolling out a "new" food service! Those of you with upcoming stays will have to post what actually occurs, but I was told there will now be a Bloody Mary Bar; expanded mid-day options; and a chef for the 5-7pm food service (AKL's Club Level has done that for over a year and it's marvelous!)

So I am officially jealous of any of you with upcoming CL stays!!

Also, the construction this past week has been limited to the courtyard by the cottages. There were 3 cranes there. They fired up the cranes and got to work at 9am each morning and were done by 5pm. Although our balcony faced that courtyard, as long as our balcony door was closed the noise didn't bother us. We were in room 4240, right around the corner from the Lounge.

I called 407-939-1885. I think it's a regular reservation number. When I called back to see if I could slide my week ahead a day so I could get a latter flight he said nothing was available. He said the Visa promotion has been very popular.

Good luck :thumbsup2

It is possible... I would go to CP at 9am and see if they could seat you any earlier. Probably take 45 minutes for breakfast (if they are running late, I would just forfeit the $10 fee and leave).

Then I would take a taxi back to the hotel. The resort transportation is just way too iffy when you have exactly one hour to get back. Plus they tell you to get to the ME pickup point 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time.

It's not a big deal if you can handle stress. I would be stressing the whole time so I wouldn't do it.

All good strategies. In the end I decided to cancel Crystal Palace and book Cape May (which I got for 9:30). I like trying new places -- which is why I'm making my way through the resorts -- and haven't been to CMC and decided when all is said and done I'd be nervous about timing during breakfast.

I'll continue to kick myself for waiting to book the airfare, but the last day is always "off" with an 8:30 flight, so I'm telling myself it's all for the best.

Thanks so much for this fantastic news!!!! We're BWI CL for marathon weekend in January. So excited!

I have a one bedroom villa booked at BWV. Do any of the refurbished rooms sleep 5?
Sorry, don't know about a 1 bedroom but my refurbished studio definitely had a Murphy pull down bed under TV credenza yesterday and would sleep 5.

I think that's the right decision. The only way I would've done CP would've been if you could have gotten an 8am ADR before opening. CP has better food, but the Cape May characters are nice. :)

So....I had the BWI, Deluxe Club level MYW package, 5 day park hopper passes booked for 1/25/17-1/30/17, total cost $5,036.00. I called in to see if there were any discounts available. I sat on hold for 45 minutes and got through to Nathaniel.

The current booking isn't available for any discount. However, the Boardwalk view, club level is available for the discount. After much hemming and hawing, I made the switch. After doing the math, I realized the $1200.00 saved actually paid for the 5 day park hopper passes and our airfare! I couldn't pass it up. Yes, our room will be 200 square feet smaller but we'll still be on the 4th floor club level and should have a good view of the Boardwalk. He said he noted on the reservation requesting a room in the middle of the boardwalk, hoping for the most boardwalk view possible. I am disappointed to give up the bigger room but hubby has no idea of what we had, so he'll just think what I ended up booking is great anyway:love2:. I was so excited to get the Deluxe Club booked, as there are only 8 rooms in that category. Ok...enough...I'm looking forward, not backward! $$$$ talks!!!!!

When staying at BWV, if you have an Amazon Prime or Amazon Now order delivered does it go to the convention center shipping center and you have to pay a handling fee? I've seen some mixed answers on this.

I am considering a stay at BW March 25-28. What construction going on then? Is there an issue with parking at the resort?

I believe the construction is ongoing for quite a while. It is mostly power washing and other exterior work. Not sure about parking, we did not drive.

This is what pops up when I search my dates for BW- This is why I was asking about parking. We drive and to not be able to park at the resort would not be good!

Sorry for the Inconvenience!
Due to limited parking availability at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, we highly recommend that all Disney Resort hotel Guests take advantage of our complimentary transportation options. Be advised that self-parking may not be available for Guests arriving in their own vehicles—valet parking may be the only option. Guests visiting Epcot are encouraged to utilize the Epcot Guest Parking Lot.

That message has been there for a long time.
I haven't heard about parking being a problem for actual Boardwalk Inn resort guests.

Interesting about the CL change. Has anyone seen or heard anything more on these changes? We will be there in less than 3 weeks!
