Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Frist of all, welcome to the thread, WDisneyMom! Secondly, I am so sorry for your loss. I think it's wonderful that you want to remember your DH by being at WDW to celebrate his life with your family. I'm sure it will be a bittersweet occasion, but one that will forever hold special memories for you and your family.

The scooter sounds like a great idea Vs. the wheelchair so that DM can get around more easily and you can as well.

I think the Deluxe CL rooms would be perfect for your family. It guarantees the BWV you want and accommodates 6 with a guaranteed two queens, though I believe that all the Standard rooms come with a daybed, the queen sleeper in the Deluxe room would be much roomier. The only disadvantage to the Deluxe room is that half of them are not on the 4th floor where the lounge is located. This could be a mobility issue for your mom, but you could request to be on the 4th floor.

I've never been to the BW in February so I can't comment on the BW crowd level. Happy planning!

Thank you so much for your response, WDWKOOK. I went ahead and booked the deluxe room and I am very happy with my choice. Like you mentioned, I am a bit concerned over not being on the 4th floor but I will email Concierge services and let them know of the circumstance. Hopefully they can work some magic! :wizard:

You're welcome and your Deluxe room sounds perfect:goodvibes. Just explain the mobility situation to the IPO and they will make a note in your reservation.

Hello! My husband and 2 kids and I will be staying here May 8-15 next year. I jumped ship from POR today, lol. This will be our first time onsite and we love the Boardwalk area. We got a great deal here and couldn't pass it up. :cool1:

Sounds great, I think you'll really enjoy!

I had read on this site that for 2 quick services you can get a large pizza at the pizza window. Do you get ant dessert or drink with it. TIA

[ For two QS credits you will get one large pizza, two drinks and two desserts.[/QUOTE] wow that's a great deal. Thanks.

We will be staying at the boardwalk villas with a boardwalk view (studio)
I requested a "large balcony"
Are there differences in rooms available with this booking category and are there in fact rooms with larger balconies ??
Thanks

Most of the studio balconies have 2 chairs and a table. There may be some larger ones that are connected to 1 bedrooms that have the "covered balcony" where the walls are high. Look at pictures of the rooms right above Big River.

We had a large balcony for our studio at BWV. On the second floor, right around the corner from the elevators (village green view), first door on the right. But it was right next to the porch area when people sit while they are waiting for their rooms to open up with only a small railing between our balcony and the porch.

village green studios are pool/garden view.
for BW view: 2nd floor, over stores/BRG are the larger balconies - BUT those balconies have a half-wall (solid). many people don't care for those rooms as children, those in wheelchairs, and anyone sitting cannot see that gorgeous view easily. also, the noise level tends to be greater, and views of illuminations are more obstructed & somewhat less spectacular.
personally, we like the privacy of the half-wall (we can sit outside in our jammies & no one knows :thumbsup2), as well as the ease of using stairwells.

We got back last week from a 5 night stay, 3 rooms. For 7 of us it was a split stay, the first 2 nights at YC. We had a few problems with the magic bands not working but they got straightened out. We had a new room over looking the courtyard. We have stayed at the BWI many times before and loved it so much booked a BB for the Wine and Dine half marathon next year. We will be there nov 4th-11th. Also celebrating DGD 4th bday.

We're still in Disney but I just wanted to say how much we loved the Boardwalk. We had a split stay booked with the first 2 nights staying in a standard view room. Upon arrival we were escorted to the 4th floor and were upgraded to concierge floor. Yes, amazing, and oh so special as we were celebrating our 30th anniversary. The staff were the best we have encountered and I now know why so many have this opinion. We loved the boardwalk view we had which was directly upstairs of the boardwalk bakery. Our room was directly outside the innkeepers club and while I thought both might lead themselves to noise we never heard a thing. We were able to watch the mk fireworks from our balcony also. I'll save my money for a few extra years to go back. It was truly amazing!!!!!!! Can't wait to go back someday!!!!!!

We have a standard view booked. Did they upgrade you for free because it was your anniversary? I'm thinking about changing to at least a pool view.

I believe that was the reason but one never knows why and when upgrades happen. It was magical none the least.

We came home Friday after a great week spent in Disney and the Boardwalk.
They first gave us a older room on the 1st floor over the parking lot with the door falling apart. Then moved us to the 3rd floor under the lounge. It was very nice.
No complaints except the first night a group of people were outs ide our room having a party or celebration of sorts?

We did the DVC tour after an invitation was left in the room which included a gift card. I've was thinking of purchasing a DVC the last few months, but I'm looking at resales. Their price is very high!

Can't wait to go back in January and bring our daughter down for her college program!

Glad you said something and were moved to a better room. How exciting that DD will be in the DCP - congrats! Where will she be a DCPCM? Enjoy the CM discount;)

Please take the time to read through some of the DVC boards here on Disboards before you purchase DVC, either resale or through Disney. There are restrictions on a resale purchase (in terms of where you can stay) that may affect you, so be aware of that. I purchased via Disney 16 years ago, so the restrictions don't apply to me and I'm not aware of all the particulars, otherwise I'd list them here. ;)

DVC has been, to my mind, one of the absolute best purchases I've ever made. It is *not*, however, for everyone. Good luck with your decision!

I just finished doing online check in for our January trip

We rented points through David's for a standard view studio. The only request I made was that we get a room on an upper floor. What are the chances that we will get a room on the third, fourth, or fifth floors? I don't care if we are down one of the endless hallways, but I am hoping for a balcony.
