Is there a trick to dealing with My Disney Experience?

It's driving me nuts!!

I did the online check-in last week using the MDE website. The only glitch that I ran into was that it would not accept my credit card. Otherwise, it went smoothly.
 

In Canada, we do not yet have access to MDE. One of the fellow Disers directed me to the website mydisneyreservation.com as an alternative, and I was able to check in a few days ago (I think I was at about 33 days at that point).
 
I cannot do on line check-in either :mad: I hate the new-but-certainly-not-improved website :furious: When I try the DVC link, after I click on "using a DVC membership" it just takes me to book a new vacation :eek:

It's doing the same for me, very frustrating.
 
I checked in two days ago for an April trip, but I didn't click anything that said "DVC." Perhaps that's your problem?

I went to My Disney Experience (the website), brought up my reservations, clicked "Details" for the reservation I wanted to check into, and then clicked "Online Check-in." Voila!

From there, it was only three steps or so (when are you arriving/leaving; make requests/add credit card; and complete, I think).

You can do it manually at MyDisneyReservation.com, but you can not be logged on to any Disney website when you use this link.
 
I still haven't figured out the point of checking in so early. :confused3 I almost always have a room request and am afraid if I check-in online that I won't get any choice in what we're assigned. It seems like checking in at the desk when we arrive at least gives me an opportunity to ask if any of my requests were met.
 
The trick for me was not to click I made a reservation through DVC. Instead I clicked I made a reservation through Disney World. This took me to a page where I was able to bring up my DVC reservation and proceed to early check in.

I was thinking the same thing. I believe once the fastpass+ is working you will be able to schedule your rides ahead but I'm not sure if you will have to be checked in to do that. We are within our 60 day window now but I'm not sure yet what time we are arriving so I haven't checked in.
 
I like to check in online because it has so far made the process once I arrive much faster. HOWEVER- I have tried to complete the online check in several times over the past week, today following all the advice given on this thread, and still have no luck. It's ridiculous. And I have to say to Laurabearz- I agree! Definitely Disney's best kept secret, LOL! :rotfl:
 
I called Member Services today regarding online check in. The link from DVCmember.com doesn't work. Also, My Disney Experience would not allow me to save my credit card. Member services provided me the link to use and advised me to select the option that I booked through disney instead of through DVC. Everything worked. If you have problems just give Member Services a call. They were very nice and very helpful.
 
I was having issues too trying to check in online going thru the DVC site and Disneyworld.com. I went to mydisneyreservation.com and was able to check in that way. At the bottom of the screen you have to select the method in which you booked then the next page you will need to enter your confirmation number, last name, resort and check in date. I was also having issues trying to add a celebration but was able to do it this way as well. Good luck!
 
I tried all that, it did not work- it had to do with using 2 contracts on my reservation- 1 for each night. So MS had to unlink my 2 nights, then I checked in twice, then they relinked my reservations.

I'm exhausted! Who knew online check-in could be so difficult? LOL- :rotfl:
 
Tried myself , gave up and had member services walk me through it. Really bad design. Had no clue what to when it switched me to a magic kingdom screen

They really need to fix this one
 
Used MDE this morning everything went smoothly, hopefully that have all the problems resolved.
