Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

I don't know exactly how many accessible rooms there are at AoA, but I know it's a small percentage. When we were in building 6, first floor, right next to the main entrance, I know there was an accessible room right next to ours because housekeeping had the door propped open 2 different days when we walked by. I couldn't see if there was a roll-in shower, though as I didn't walk into the room. We've stayed at AoA 6 times (5 times in the LK suites) and our view has never had any affect on our enjoyment. Even the year we had a parking lot view. We were on the 4th floor that year so the reality was, if we wanted to see the parking lot, we had to walk over to the window and look down. Our eye level view was trees. Our most recent stay was again a parking lot view on the 1st floor of bldg 10. it's really not that big of a deal. We didn't have the curtains open very often (trying to keep the room cool) and there was other garden areas to look at. The room in bldg 6 that had the accessible room had a courtyard view but all we could really see was the thick vegetation. It really felt like we were in a jungle. And that was fine. It definitely helped keep our room cool during the day *and* if we did open the curtains, no one walking through that area could see in our room. We've also had some lakeview rooms, but again, we had the curtains closed most of the time to keep the hot sun out, so the view just really isn't critical for us. At least you wont have views of a rooftop a/c unit like some DVC resorts have. :) But seriously, don't worry too much about the view, it's not really that bad from any of the rooms.
You're right! It's not like we're going to sit out on a balcony! Thank you.

Getting so excited for my upcoming trip!
This will be our 1st stay at Art of Animation. It’s myself, DH, DS25, DD21, and DDs cast member friend who will be staying with us. We will be in a Lion King suite, using the friend’s CM discount, from August 14-19.
We have stayed at POP quite a few times and love how centrally located the area is. We also love the Skyliner and entering Epcot through the international gateway.

Just upgraded from All-Star Movies to Art of Animation Little Mermaid rooms! My dad is tagging along with me this time. So excited for a father-daughter trip this weekend. Never stayed at a Skyliner resort since it opened! :)

Question: If we need to get to the Skyliner 90 minutes before park opening, but the food court opens at 7:00am, are we able to refill our mugs earlier than 7:00am with coffee? TIA!

You’re going to love this resort. The Skyliner is a ride in and of itself. We actually prefer AOA suites to deluxe resorts but decide to stay at deluxe if extended hours are good (MK/HS/AK offered). Landscape of flavors has seasonal entrees that are excellent (Turkey/Beef dinner)

Just found this video interesting. The walk from the little mermaid rooms is 10+ mins and the line curves on the pop century side so you have to walk an extra few mins to the end of the line

I would bring my own instant coffee (you can buy milk from Landscape of flavors the night before if needed) for HS early entry. There is no microwave in those rooms.

Just found this video:

I stayed in Lion King Suite in August.

You will not be able to fill your mug before 7am. Frankly, I was not at all happy that the food court isn't open for at least coffee and drinks at 5am. I know there are coffee pots in the room, but an early riser is not going to wake everyone else in the room up by making coffee. Also, I wasn't happy about the closing time either. I think you should at least be able to drinks one hour after the last park closes.

Something to note -- not all entrees are available through mobile ordering. I didn't realize this until the last day of our trip.

Our experience with the skyliner:
When we arrived before the skyliner opened -- lines formed on both the AOA side and the Pop Century side. When it opened, the attendant alternated X number people from the AOA side, X number from the Pop side. It was well organized and very fast moving. The AOA line wrapped back towards the Cars section, the Pop section went so far I couldn't see the end.

When my husband went to the skyliner on the same day, but around 8:30am, he did have to walk over to the end of the Pop Century line, but it wasn't anywhere near as far back as the morning line. Looking at texts -- he got in line at 8:25 am and was approaching security at 8:50am.

It does pay to arrive at the skyliner early. We left our room at 650am. I have a photo on the skyliner at 7:22am. We were about 5 people back at the turnstiles. I have a photo of my boys walking down Hollywood Blvd leaving me in the dust at 8:02am. I went to Starbucks. They were on the first ride at RNRC, we went to TOT next and were at MMRR railway before 9AM .

Just an FYI, there is a drink refill station that is available 24/7 right next to the pool bar. It used to be fenced in, but I noticed when we were there in June that the fence has been moved and the refill station is always accessible. I don't remember specifically what drinks were available, but I don't think coffee was. I believe you could move the coffee maker to the master bathroom to use for that early morning cup of coffee so you don't wake up everyone while brewing.

Anyone have experience successfully booking a Little Mermaid room with a bounceback offer? My kids really want to stay at AOA but the Little Mermaid rooms weren't available during our dates, using the bounceback. I don't want to call occasionally call to see if it's an option. The agent seemed to indicate that it can be an option. (I hope I'm making sense)

Welp, pretty excited. Bringing my little grand daughter over our fall break and last minute switched from Music to here. I was holding hope for a passholder discount, but no such luck. We are DVC so usually stay that route, but no points right now. Looking forward to her loving the place!

I'm the grandmother and *I* love the place! :D I'm sure your granddaughter will love it! Are you in a LM room or a suite?

It seems like those rooms are not discount eligible (at least pre COVID)

Edit: Maybe occasionally they are post 2018:

I booked a bounceback in LM room. Originally booked BB from my August trip and just modified my dates today to 4/26-5/2/25. On my original dates there was a Friday that was not available for BB rate. I called and had them look up available BB rate dates around when I wanted to go. There were several choices.

Just returned from our first value resort experience. Had two Nemo suites, and they were ROOMY! Beds were uncomfortable, lines at food court were so long/understaffed that our food was cold by the time we sat to eat. Called maintenance at 11:45 one night as the auto exhaust fan would not stop and was flashing weird green. Started to smell a little hot so I was afraid the smoke alarm would go off and make everyone exit haha. Worker came quickly and disconnected it - never replaced or fixed it so we did without the rest of our trip. Had two different cast members turn away from me mid-discussions to talk to someone else. Another stepped in front of me to enter laundry room and didn't care that I had my arms full of bags to take in. I didn't complain, wasn't being rude. Just "felt" like a different atmosphere this trip. Skyliner access and low crowd levels made up for everything though!

I booked a LM room for 2 people for Sept 7-10 and we were upgraded to a Cars Suite in building 1. SUCH a more convenient location, still a bit of a trek to the skyliner but very close to the lobby. It was such a luxury to have our own beds and bathrooms. I will never book a LM room again after seeing how far it is from everything. Had a great trip though! Parks felt crowded when walking but low lines everywhere. We were able to use LL easily despite never using the newest system before. The food court got busy quickly since it doesn't open until 7:00AM but there was plenty of seating. They need more drink refill stations in the food court, lines formed easily and it got chaotic.

Does Art of Animation have a Coffee Shop?
Are you staying in one of the little mermaid rooms?

There is coffee (incl latte, cappuccino etc) at Landscape of flavors. They also have some really good breakfast shakes (peanut butter protein was really good). We usually had coffee in our room or occasionally at the Skyliner station at Carribean beach (Joffreys is open at the same time the Skyliner station opens so an hour before HS opens).

I take Mount Hagen organic coffee packets to use if we are in a rush (mixes well into milk).

thanks but no, I was asking if Art of Animation has a Coffee Shop as I asked a question of Disney and they indicated AoA did and I could not place where it was.
