Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

In addition to stroller rental locations across Walt Disney World Resort, several private companies in the local area also offer stroller rentals.
  • You can generally pick up these strollers from Bell Services, but you are using an outside vendor, and you keep the stroller the whole vacation. Or you can rent at the parks.

Well, if you're driving yourself there, you might want to look at the map in advance so you park in the lot closest to your room. Stayed in Cars our first time at AoA. Next time, staying LK, I thought I should park on the opposite side of the entry road. I didn't realize there was another parking lot further down (like, actually AT the LK section!) and we walked a looong way LOL. Other than that, I can't think of anything. Just ask whatever specifics you think of and we can all chime in. You'll love Cars--it's our fave :)
Good tip! Thank you!!

If you want 1st floor, then yes do request that. There are elevators if you don't get 1st floor.

Disney advertises buses come about every 20 minutes. It's the same for all levels of WDW resorts.
Going to ask what I'm sure is a silly question (it's been a while since our last trip). How do I request first floor? Do I just call and reference our reservation number?

Thank you for your help. I do not want to waste time renting a stroller when we arrive to the parks!

Once on the bus, it will take about 15-20 minutes to ride to MK.

If you want to experience an 8am rope drop (at MK, I assume?), I'd recommend being at the bus stop around 7am. That should give you time to ride to MK, get through the ticket tap-styles, and into the area before the gates.
Yes. Mk. Thank you for your help!

If you know you'll need the stroller for the entire time you're in the parks and also want to use it at the resort, renting from an outside company is definitely the way to go (just keep in mind that if you're using Disney buses you'll have to fold up the stroller while on the bus). We only rented a stroller on one visit to Disney (we didn't take any of our kids to Disney until they were at least 4 years old and could walk the whole time) and that was when our then 6yo was having a major battle with environmental allergies and her medicine made her quite drowsy. We knew she was going to be exhausted by noon every day if we didn't rent a stroller. Anyway, if you decide to rent a stroller in the parks, you can actually do a multi-day rental (you get a tiny discount over the cost of a daily rental) and then you can go straight to the stroller pick-up area every day rather than standing in the rental line. We arrived at Epcot in the late afternoon our first day so there was no line for renting the stroller. The CM recommended the multi-day rental (at that time, the days never expired or you could also get a refund if you didn't use all of the days. Not sure if that's still the case as that was 4 years ago). The rest of the week, we were able to go straight to the pick-up area with no lines/no waiting. A few days we didn't even pick up the stroller until after we rode a few rides. Just some info to tuck away in case you need it. I don't know how old your child is, so this "plan" might not work for you.

Regardless of where you rent your stroller (in the parks or from an outside company), take a brightly patterned scarf or piece of fabric to tie around the handle each day. It will make it MUCH easier to find your stroller in the sea of strollers in the stroller parking areas. The CM's are constantly shuffling the strollers to fill in all the empty spaces, so your stroller is rarely in the same spot you left it in when you come out of an attraction.

I slept on the table bed, and it was comfortable. I put my son in the BR, he goes to sleep much earlier than me. I love that I still have late access to that 2nd bathroom, and the kitchen of course, after he goes to sleep.

Can someone find out what time the lifeguards are at the pool??

Traveling in a month and will have a rental car. My husband has severe motion sickness issues, so taking the Disney bus to the different parks won't work for us. My question is, when going to MK, is it easier to drive to the MK parking lot, walk to the monorail and then take the monorail to the entrance or could we drive to the Contemporary and walk to MK from there? Not sure what would be quicker and not sure if we would even be allowed to park at Contemporary? Also how fast is the monorail ride from the MK parking lot to the entrance? Thanks for any help!

You MIGHT be able to drive to Contemporary and pay to valet your car. But it depends on how busy it is. Guests of the Contemporary and guests with confirmed ADRs get first priority to parking.

After leaving the TTC the monorail stops at the Polynesian and then the Grand Floridian before hitting MK. I believe that trip is about 13-15 minutes.

Thank you! I thought the monorail from the Transportation station went straight to MK? So you need to park the car at MK, walk to the TTC and then take the monorail for 15 mins to get to the entrance of MK?!

You park at the TTC, take a tram to the monorail/boat area. Then you can take either the monorail or boat.

The boat ride is about 10 minutes.
Thanks for all the help! One last question; how far away is the bus stop at MK from the entrance? I know that they have a huge loop of bus stops for all the different resorts. I'm hoping the AofA bus stop isn't all the way at the end.

You're welcome. I'm not sure about where the bus stop is because they do move around. It's been my experience that it isn't in the same spot an entire trip.

Has your husband tried the Seabands? I have horrible motion sickness (get nausea rolling backwards to mailbox) and they work wonders for me. I'm put them on from the plane ride unti, we pull into the driveway home.

He tried them a few years ago and they didn't help. We have friends who swear by them though! He has been suffering from this since he was 4, and nothing really seems to help.
