Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

If anyone's interested, I posted some pics of Art of Animation here and here - I really enjoyed my lunch there (tandoori shrimp) two weeks ago. :)

Thanks for the answers about the 'safe safety'! They wouldn't have to break into your room if they worked there, but I think I will definitely use mine this year.
Isn't it funny how so many of us think alike? I wanted to know right away also, what that 'thing' was with the sprinkles all over it. I didn't have to ask, however, because someone else already did it for me! :thumbsup2 And, yes, that cupcake looks very good, too! :lmao: Ohhhh, a little over four months until our trip to our LM room! :yay:
PS: Thanks for the photos DonaldDoleWhip.

Awwww, you all will have a blast! I went once as a child the year MK opened, then did not get back until mid 80s, after EPCOT was a few years old. Went with hubby while 6 months pregnant with our first, then we began our love affair with WDW. Our children first visited when they were 33 months and 11 months. I've lost track of our visits since and they are 15&17 now. Enjoy planning the trip and the best advice I can give you is take time to enjoy the little things like the looks on your hubby and kids' faces when they first see Main Street USA. And take lots of pictures!

I just love love LOVE your advice! Those are the exact things I am most eager to see!! Oh how I wish it were tomorrow. Sigh. Until then I will keep daydreaming. :goodvibes

Here ya go!

What is that Mickey head shaped thing on top of the sandwich??

My DD9 and I always travel with our MacBooks. Her MacBook will usually fit in the safe, mine rarely does. So we use these. This particular one is made by a company called Targus. You can then loop the cable around something solid in the room. We usually use a chair. Then lock it. It will let everyone know if someone moves it. (This device is also great for stroller locking.) We will be at AoA Resort in October, Little Mermaid building. So if you hear the thing going off... someone got my Mac!

So excited:yay:. I was finally able to get LM room for my entire stay. I got the FD pin but only booked 3 nights pre cruise originally. Then I decided to cancel my 3 day cruise since I could get 6 nights with FD for a few hundred less. Well i had to change my ressie to POP but I've been checking every day and finally there was availability today! For those of you still trying to score a LM room, keep trying, it pays off.:thumbsup2 even the CM was suprised.

You actually cancelled your Cruise? :lmao: Well, good for you. How often do you get to stay in a new resort? We're all going to have the greatest time no matter what our dates or what section we're in. :thumbsup2
PS: NoodlesMom: Too bad that we'll miss each other by only weeks. I read your QS food review. I, too, love the EOS's sandwiches. Their bread is the best oven baked bread that I've ever had. We're eating there on our first day.

I also was able to get the one last night I needed in the LM section I needed. After I booked, there was still more availability that night. Makes me wonder if they had been holding back some rooms for some reason.

Doesn't matter why though. I'm just glad to get it. Congrats to you as well!

Still keeping my fingers crossed that I can get a much-coveted LM room for my Sept. 16-21 trip too. I've been calling every other day and was pretty much told that this woudl be virtually impossible to get. Now I see that some people were able to snag these reservations too. I hope I can be as lucky. :sad2:

Cancelling the cruise was a hard decision but since we went last year, the kids were ok with it. I'm just excited to finally see WDW during the holidays and very excited to stay at AoA. I LOVE Earl of Sandwhich. We will also eat there on our first day. I also love the quick service plan. It made our vacation so much more relaxing without worrying about ADR's. Have a great trip.

Question for those of you who were able to switch your resort from Pop to AoA (LM suite, specifically): how much more did you have to pay?

Just curious because if there ever becomes an opening, I'll definitely snag it but I just don't want to go overbudget for it.

My price went down a little because we had booked a preferred poolside room at the Pop, but only standard is available at LM. I think your price would go up a small amount going from standard to standard.

We were staying preferred at all star movies then switched to the LM rooms and got some money back ;)
