I love the pictures!! I can't decide if I want to stay in a LM room or stay at Pop. We don't need a suite and well.. not sure my two boys would like a LM room. I mean they would never complain.. okay.. not sure that I would like a LM room.

Is the LM section very far away from the buses and main building? It looks like it is on the map.

Yes! It is fried green tomato with pepperjack cheese and a veggie burger. I expected it to be a frozen veggie burger brand like morningstar but it was actually handmade with corn and other veggies. It was awesome!

Thanks!

Awesome pics! Thanks. I am glad that you said the vegie burger was really good, because it didn't look very tasty. I will take your word for it! :thumbsup2

On second inspection, I see what I thought was a patty is the fried green tomato. Super!

Thank you Kayla!! Those pictures are making me want to go now!! OMG!! They are awesome!! Too bad LM won't be open until September because we may be able to sneak a trip to WDW this August and I don't need the suite. I may just have to stay at POP and just do what you did, just visit AoA and have lunch there or dinner and just walk around the ground. I am even more excited now!

...and the bun looks good! Not like the whole grain buns that are dry and fall apart...how was it?

Thank you so much for your report and photos! Looks awesome!

Great pics, Kayla!! Thanks for sharing!! But I am in so much trouble, because all of the pics of the Ink & Paint shop, I was saying "OH, I want THAT! And THAT! And I NEED THAT!" I better start scrapping more money together, the resort gift shop is going to bust me!

would love to know this also?

Comparable to the distance from 90's section of POP to POP's Classic Hall. I think someone a few pages back google mapped it as being a .25 mile walk, but with so much to look at coupled with all of the walking you will do at WDW anyway, I don't think I would let it deter you from staying there.

Thanks for the pictures!

I'm not the only one who gets nostalgic for the Rainbow Tunnel from the Imagination Pavilion when they see the check in area at AoA, right?

These pictures look wonderful. Cant wait to go. I thought the food looked good in these pictures. And I definitely want to go shopping in the Ink & Paint shop!!!!:goodvibes

According to Mark Goldhaber's latest WDW update:

A construction permit filed with the Orange County Clerk's Office for construction at the Disney's Art of Animation Resort Boat Ramp would seem to indicate that there's a chance that boat rentals may be coming to Hourglass Lake.

so i am new to this thread and this question has been asked i am sure...but what part is opennow and how long before th rest is open, as well as are there any codes for rooms? just curious if anyone knows how bookings have been? thanks

Just an FYI about the LM rooms and the concerns abotu the boys not liking it -- from what i have seen of the interior, it is more of a sunken ship/under the sea theme then a girly mermaid theme -- boys should love it just as much as girls.

Here are the opening dates for each section:
  • Finding Nemo (Grand opening) – Opens May 31
  • Cars – Opens June 18
  • Lion King – Opens August 10
  • Little Mermaid – Opens September 15

As far as discount codes, I would be shocked if any are available any time soon for AoA, partially because it is a brand new resort, partially because the capacity is going to be so low until all sections have opened. I don't know any official numbers regarding reservations, but I don't think you'll be seeing any room discounts for this property until next year at the earliest.

Prepare to be shocked!:rotfl:

There is currently a 15% off room offer for Disney Visa holders, and AoA was included in the Aug/Sept free dining offer. AoA is also included in the FD PIN that was released last week. I have seen people post about getting a AAA discount for AoA, as well.:thumbsup2

No problem!

Hehe. The shop actually had mostly stuff you can find at any other regular gift shop at WDW. (Shocker, right? :lmao:) However there were a few AOA things that were really cute.

Actually, the only complaint I had was with the bun. It didn't fall apart and tasted fine but the burger kept falling out and it got really messy at the end because the bottom of the bun somehow ended up way smaller than the top. :upsidedow I had to flip it upsidedown to finish it. However, it was a small price to pay for that deliciousness! I don't know how many non-vegetarians order any of the vegetarian options, but if you like your veggies and are open to it, I definitely suggest trying it! Even if you don't really care for veggies, I'm betting you would probably like it.

I want one right now! :goodvibes
