I was wondering how they are going to do some crowd control with so many people saying they are going to be walking over or stopping by to see the resort and pools and possibly use them once AoA is all open, etc. We have a LM room Sept 21-29 and I will be pretty upset if everything is overly crowded with all the "rush" to see it and check it out, or the pools being overlycrowded. etc.

I know its nice to see new things, but thats the reason for booking a ressie there.

To use it and have what you want.

Anyone else concerned about it, etc? Or am I the only one thinking about that??

Your not alone my Dh is very worried about this . He also thinks the buses will be taxed with people coming to take a peak .

I was a bit worried as well . As I thought about it though I became a little less so. I hate crowds in a extreme way. But I think it will be ok if you are going in Sept or Oct.

Even though the resorts usually only ocassionally check ID by the pools in the summer or busy times of the year I think if the pools start to look to crowded , or if they get complaints they will start doing that. Also it is the biggest pool on property so even if the occasional guest strays over it might not be as noticable just because of the size .

If anything the people most impacted by the excitement to see it will be the ones there when it first opens , like June / July. Plus thats one of the busiest times at Disney in general. By the time any of LM people get there in Sept it will not only be one of the slowest times of the year , but the resort will have been open a good 3 1/2 ish months already.

I think it might be most the enticing for Pop guests . I am thinking that maybe guests at other resorts wont be as tempted , or might plan to visit but wont actually get around to it as the theme parks wll be calling to them even louder in the end.

A pool gate with a RFID card entry would have been great . When I stayed at the Hard Rock in Orlando years back we had to use our room key to open the gate to get back into the resort pool area when coming back from the theme parks. In fact doesnt Bay Lake Tower do something like that around the pool ?

Any idea when the first guests will be staying in AoA? Friends are going to be there last week of April and first week of May at ASmu...any chance they could switch to AoA?

I think this is most likely. As neat as AoA is going to be, only the hard-core Disney fans (like us) are going to figure out even where to go. Most regular guests aren't going to spend their time navigating the bus system or the property roads to go see a hotel, when they are paying to go to the parks. :goodvibes

Right now, no they can't switch. The first section of AoA, Finding Nemo, is scheduled to open to guests on May 31. I suppose something could change between now and then, but I don't think that's expected.

This may have already been asked and answered, but with over 110 pages I just don't have time to go through all of them. It appears that the Cars, Lion King and Nemo buildings have interior hallways. Is that correct?? That would be a first for a value resort. I see that the Little Mermaid rooms open up to the outside. Does anyone know the answer to this question? We are staying in a Lion King suite in December and I am extremely curious. Thanks!!!

Yes, that is correct.

I'm so excited to stay at AoA! We are taking DD for her 3rd birthday in Feb 2013 and when I saw that there was Finding Nemo, got super excited!! Every fish that DD sees is "Nemo!" I like the sleeping arrangements as well as DH tends to snore, so if we can have DD be in a seperate "room" that would help out a lot. Though I'm nervous about her sleeping in a bed as she is still in a crib now.... I think that bed rails are offered at Disney resorts though (?) and I'm thinking that she will be so tired after a Disney day that she will fall asleep wherever  Lots of things running through my mind for a first trip with a toddler!

I just had a thought. Not sure if anyone has brought this up. The parking lots for AOA are connected to POP. So people from POP will be able to drive over to AOA will not problem and vice versa. All the parking lots would made a long time ago for both parts but was closed off by a wall.

Right, if people staying at Pop Century or AoA have a car, yes, it looks like you can drive around or through to either hotel. Just can't drive over the bridge yet. ;)

Curious if anybody knows if AOA will have its own buses or will it be sharing?

Both Pop and AoA have their own large bus stop areas. During the busy periods each should have their own dedicated lines.

During less busy times, like in the middle of the day, it may happen that routes could be combined. We'll see once both hotels are up and running.

Hi neighbor! We're staying in the Nemo suites too.. so excited! I'm visiting at the end of August so PM me if you'd like me to send your DD a 'can't wait for you to visit' postcard from her favorite character! :goodvibes

Has anyone been getting signed out of the boards all day ? I have to keep relogging in. Anyway wishful thinking I know , but do you guys think there is a chance that the LM ride might be open for a soft opening by Sept ? How awesome would it be to stay in the rooms AND get to ride the ride ? Of course I am keeping my fingers crossed for Be Our Guest resturant also. Someone posted that they usually dont start taking reservations opening intil a month or less than before the soft opening.

Cinder73, so far I've had no problems with logging in or staying logged in.
I'm so hoping that the LM ride will be open when we go, but we're not going until after Thanksgiving. I truly hope that it will have a soft opening, at least, for all of our 'Sept. AoA Dis'ers'. It would be perfect for all of us in the LM rooms! I always love your links, but this time I didn't look at it. I want to be surprised the first time I ride thru the LM ride whenever it does open!!!
I heard that the 'Be Our Guest' restaurant is supposed to have a soft opening sometime in September with ADRs being accepted for November. I will keep my fingers crossed that this is true so you Sept. guys can definitely enjoy the new restaurant. :thumbsup2 I'm very excited about it, myself! I hope they are still having the audioanimatronic Lumiere!!!

Brockport is just off I80 between State College and Clarion . Way out in the sticks we are part of the Pa wilds where the big Elk herd is . Thanks for answering me I thought we were staying at BC but that changed today ..:cool1: We just love the larger than life look of AOA . I have been looking from time to time and the kids Found the updated photos .[/QUOTE]

That sounds beautiful. I've been to state college for horse shows and it is very pretty out there.
Hooray!! :yay: I'm so glad that you're going to the AoA like the rest of us. I would love to stay at the BC someday, but right now I'm very happy about staying in a brand new resort, too!

Well, the Big Blue does have a fence around it; the other value pools do not. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that our RFID card/wristlet is good for the room key and the pool gate, also. Has anyone heard one way of the other about this? It could be the beginning of all pools being gated and the end of 'pool hopping' forever (since you're not supposed to do it, anyway).

LOL, I spoke too soon, Cinder73....I just had to log back in to submit my last post!

I think I heard they may some little tweaks to what our Lm ride will be like compared to the one in Disney Land . Here is a link to their's. I imagine it will be pretty much like the same thing overall. It looks really cool.

I have been getting logged out all day long and have to sign in again every time. I thought it was my computer!

You can pool hop if they are sister resorts. The All-Stars are sister resorts and it works out just fine there. I never noticed any significant over crowding at any of there pools. It hasn't been announced whether AOA and POP will be sister resorts but it seems like they maybe since they have the bridge and the parking lots are connected.

It has been reported that they will not be sister resorts. The reason for the bridge and the connected parking lots is that the area in which AoA is built was originally supposed to be the other "decades" of POP. There is currently a fence around the main pool at AoA, and it has been speculated that the new RFID-chipped room keys at AoA will be needed to access the pool. Again, that is just speculation, but several people have reported that they will 100% not be deemed "sister resorts".

The All-stars all have similar pools as far as amenities go, but the new AoA pool is a zero entry pool and the majority of the rooms at AoA are very expensive (for a value resort). Personally, I would be unhappy if people from another resort were taking up space in the pool for a hotel that they were not staying at, nor paying for. Just my opinion, though.:goodvibes
