So are the rooms bookable online yet? I keep trying random dates and nothing is showing as available for AoA, and I'd love to stay there on my 2012 trip.

From what I understand the room that are non suite rooms will not open until Dec 2012. They are not booking them yet. I would just keep checking if the dates work for you. If not you could always book at Pop and walk over and check out AOA for your next trip.

Well that news is disappointing. I called Disney and asked when they may start booking non suite rooms and the cast member said to call back in August but I failed to ask what months in 2012 they would be booking for at that time. Sigh .... I was hoping to book a non suite room for June 2012 in August 2011.

I would hope there would be some moderate amenities. At this point, I would book a cabin for that rate or possibly a little cheaper.

I agree. Yes, it's nice and new...but I won't be paying those rates!

That would be us too. We want to book standard rooms at AoA for June 2012, but according to what I am reading they probably will not be open by then. We are now debating between POP and AS Sports if AoA is not open yet.

If you pick Pop you could take a little stroll across the bridge to check out AOA.

Yes, starting June 1st 2012. You can book for it now. It is rumored to be open before that, but nothing is bookable till June 1st.

just booked a 6 night familymoon at art of animation! can't wait. with 2 adults and 4 kids, i think it will be perfect. can't wait to see pictures of the finished resort.

Gah. I want to stay here so badly on our December 2012 trip... but I'm thinking it might be more worth our money to just rent DVC points at stay at VWL.

We also wanted to book a standard room at Art of Animation for our May 30- June 7, 2012 trip but it doesn't look like it's going to be open by then so I booked Pop Century a couple of days ago.
I can't wait to see the new resort, it looks like it's going to be very cute!!!

Thank you for posting our links! We will have more up tomorrow (photos/pics), the main hall is being painted on the Pop side now. Right now I'm working on Saratoga Paddock pool pics, so won't get to AOA until tomorrow. Pretty amazed at the progress each time we go!

We just booked a 10 night stay starting June 3, 2012 for the suites.

We were very disappointed in the WL with our last visit in 2010. {loved it in 2006 and were okay with it in 2008}

We are hoping the extra room and room features will make up for the price. That and I admit we are pretty excited to be one of the first people to stay in the room.
