Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel

personally, I am excited about the AOA being in the works. there has been speculation for many years and I am glad they are working on completing this. I am sure they will open up the bridge once it is complete, otherwise it makes no sense to have the bridge between the two resorts. I will be staying here when they open as I live in the area and I am working at staying at each hotel on Disney property. Tried to book POP for an upcoming weekend trip 1st weekend of Feb and they were booked. I was only able to book at ASMu so it is definitely time to add more value rooms.

:goodvibesYes I'm definately excited about this. I have got my eye on booking ASMo for Dec 2012 as soon as the brochures are out here in England but if Art of Animation is in them then I will probably book that instead!:)

we had been planning on going in 2012 but have since decided to wait until 2013 due to the fl expansion. since it will be our very first trip it will definately be a plus to be able to stay in the new resort and be able to see all the new rides and updates to fantasyland!:goodvibes

I wonder if you will be able to pick your section if you choose a suite?

Also, I wonder why they didn't go with a more gender neutral selection (like Nemo or Lion King) for the regular rooms? Of course, I'm saying this b/c my girls would LOVE the Little Mermaid section, but we would be staying in a suite ...

Thanks for all the links!

yeah me too! I would like to stay in Cars section? It's cars is a suite also! thanks for the all links!

Well, I was sort of interested in this since I liked the idea of theming the resort to animated films. But then I saw the room pics. BLECHHH!! I didn't realize it was called Art of Animation meets The Brady Bunch. Why do they have to use that awful 60's retro look with Disney animation?? I don't care for the other Values and it doesn't look like I will care for this one either. I guess it could be worse. It could be Marvel themed.

I too was intrigued. I love all these films. I thought the rooms were ugly too. I need regular rooms and haven't seen pics of the Little Mermaids rooms yet so there is still hope.

We wanted to save our next trip until 2012 to stay here. Because I said we would start going every other year to WDW, so as to travel to other places. But since we were too late to get our nice Grand Canyon hotel we decided to go to Disney. Now I will have to wait until 2013 to stay.

Do people actually plan this far ahead.

Do people actually plan this far ahead.

People on the DIS absolutely do! I'm in the planning stages for vacations for 2011,2012,2013 AND 2014! Heck I even told my mother I know what we're doing when she and I are 65 and 90! (and that's a long way away.....;))

I love planning our trips. We haven't been since 2005! I have trip booked for this spring. Will book the 2012 trip in August.

I read on the WDW site that prices will start at $159. Question is, does that mean for a standard room or the suites?? I was guessing that the suites would be higher since the ones at ASMu start at $194.

I'm thinking thats going to be suites since this is a value. The price of all the other values for a standard room is exactly the same as each other so there is no reason to believe this value won't charge the same for a regular room than everyone else.
