Yes, bedrails are available. If possible ask for them ahead of time and remind them upon check in...we had them a year ago April and we did have to ask again for them..

How long does everyone think the high demand for the LM rooms will last? We are planning to go June 2013, so I had thought I would wait and book our trip sometime in late Nov/early Dec. However, now I'm thinking maybe I should go ahead and book the trip with a minimal deposit for now just to hold our spot. We are surprising our kids, and honestly they'd be happy anywhere, but I've got my heart set on staying at AoA. I would love a suite but it won't work in our budget.

I think, to a certain degree, there will always be high demand for the Little Mermaid rooms, as they are the only section of standard rooms at the Art of Animation Resort.

Also, the new general public free dining offer that is supposed to come out next week, on July 12, is supposed to include all resorts and room categories except the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA - that is very telling as to the popularity of these rooms. SO glad we got a free dining pin we could use for the Little Mermaid rooms on our upcoming trip or we would have had to go back to Pop or All-Star Movies. VERY excited to try out this new resort in November/December.

How's the transportation thing working out? I know things are going to change a bit once the capacity of rooms are open but I am trying to decide between AoA and elsewhere. I stayed at POP for the first time last fall and was floored by the lines after Wishes at MK. if AoA lines will end up being similar, I am not sure his is a resort for our family.

I have never been to Disney before, but I would imagine that any resort would have long lines after Wishes. I have no idea from personal knowledge though :)

In general the entire MK resort bus area is crowded with potentially long lines if you leave at closing time. I don't think the situation with Pop Century buses at MK closing is any different. They do their best to dispatch the buses they need.

The buses have always been hit or miss with us. We have stayed at Values (usually POP) and mods (POR, CSR) and there have been long waits and walk-ons. The buses at POR were the longest wait, both at the resort and at the parks. I think POP was the best for buses.
After Wishes we either
1. stay a little longer at the park to allow the crowds to dissipate or
2. take the monorail to EPCoT (assuming it is still open)and get off right beside the buses and hop on there, We usually leave MK as Wishes is ending.
We've even walked to CR to catch the monorail. If we happen to pass a lounge...........:cool1:

I have no kids, (unfortunately) so I can't really appreciate how difficult it is at night with little tired ones, especially standing in lines. When I see parents carrying sleeping children it makes my arms hurt.pixiedust:

I know someone asked it before (in this thread maybe?), but I never saw an answer. Are bed rails available? If not, we'll just put pillows all over the place. We tried getting rid of DD4's bedrail and she fell out of her full sized bed the first night.

So should I have my TA put in a request?

Just FYI:
In the DIS podcast several weeks ago, Julie and Corey did a review of staying in the suite. Julie mentioned that the standard bed rails they supply DO NOT FIT the murphy bed or the sofa-foldout bed. Only fit the queen bed, but who's going to put the little kids on the only real bed? That was one thing they had to knock AoA about, apparently no one bothered to check that before the resort opened. :upsidedow She hoped that they would figure out an alternative.

Julie did say that the sofa cusions around the pull-out bed did work fine, as their little one did roll out.

Another poster I read later said the smaller bed rails they brought from home did fit the kid beds, so perhaps AoA might get a new supply.

Hope this helps!

We are staying in a LM room though.

We have stayed at all level of resort from Value to Dexlue, to the FW cabins and DVC and they are always lined up, if you leave right after Wishes. Even the monorail lines are crazy.

If it gets really bad, they will bring in extra buses to try to get caught up.

Sorry, if I this is well know, but what is the general public free dining offer? I hadn't heard about this?

Interesting! The last time we traveled with the kids we were at CR and loved walking back after Wishes. The POP trip was moms only and we waited a good 20 minutes in the park before going out to the bus stop and the bus line for POP was 5-6 times longer than any other resort. While they did dispatch buses out quickly, we still had to wait another 30 minutes to get on a bus. Iwasn't a big deal for us but I could imagine having to do that with a 3 year old!

We will be at AOA Oct 31 2012 thru Nov 6 2012. I was wondering if any room or need to decorate as holiday will come and go on our 1st day there.

Replying to : We have decorated the window the past 4 or 5 trips. I was thinking that it may not be good because it is so new. Not sure what to do.

Here is my window from 2010 at POP:-)
