Steak and (mickey?) egg with pepperjack cheese burger - YUMMO!

Loving all the options at the food court. The chairs look uncomfortable, but we don't camp out for dining anyway. If I had little ones, I would prefer booth style seating.

I did this on google earth and then path it out from the center of the little mermaid section to the middle of the main building and it is about 1360 feet or 445 yards or .25 miles.

Don't forget that you can 'cut' through buildings where they T at. It looks to be about the same distance that the 90's are from their main pool. I loved the 90's building and we were in the furthest away. Nice trees and grassy area makes it peaceful back there.

Though now I see that the Cozy Cone pool isn't that big compared to Pop's two non main pools. :-) Great Google shot!

All the info is getting me very excited!! I can't wait to stay in the Mermaid room. My girls will be in heaven since Ariel is BOTH of their favorite Princess. My husband is not fond of value resorts but he said he will let us stay here!! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know the distance from the Little Mermaid buildings to Animation Hall? It looks really far. What is the equivalent at POP (like the 90s buildings from Classic Hall??)

If you take Pop Century resort as is, and rotate it 180 degrees, it is EXACTLY the same layout as AoA - I'm sure they even used the same floor plans and such - the 'Animation Hall' is the same shape as Pop's Classic Hall, just rotated. So the location of the LM rooms would be equivalent to the 90s rooms at POP.

I know the washer and dryers are near the pools but do they take quarters to operate and if so, how much per load?

If they are like the ones at Pop, they will take quarters and it will cost $2 to wash and $2 to dry, though sometimes you need to run it two cycles to dry. I am wondering of they might go with what the cruiseline has, which you pay with your KTTW card.

:rotfl2:

I was thinking the same thing -- washing takes 20 minutes, drying takes 5 hours !

I am hoping that the dryers , being new, will be a tad more efficient at AoA -- at least when we are there in Aug.

I am thrilled about the CARS theme!! It's about time Disney realized that everyone doesn't have ONLY GIRLS!!!(and charging extra for a pirate themed room out in the boonies at CBR doesn't count)

but it looks like a GREAT choice of a resort to bring our 5 year old grandson!! (and I think they WILL keep the 2 resorts joined with the bridge, at least they SHOULD) (does anyone else think hubby would have a problem with this idea? tee hee :rotfl:)

I love the cars theme too. My son loves Nemo, Lion King, and Cars. I just wish the regular room wasn't just Little Mermaid. I love that movie, but my 5-year-old son isn't thrilled about staying in that room. We probably won't need the suite anytime soon. We have stayed at POP twice and no other resort on site. I do wish that there was 2 seperate buses for POP and the new resort. We haven't stay at All Stars because of bus sharing. I am excited and can't wait to stay there!

Super Excited! Just switched from POR to AoA. I'll be staying in a Little Mermaid room (hoping for building 7 or 8) from 11/26 to 12/05. I'm excited to be a bit "far away" from the main pool because it will be quieter. :woohoo:

AoA isn't sharing buses with POP - they have their own bus stops out front, you can see from the pictures that it is in front of Animation Hall. AoA is being treated as a totally separate resort.

That doesn't mean anything..All the resorts have a bus stop. And all the All stars have their own as well.

I still think they won't share, and if they don't it won't be often. Pop buses are so full during busy times there is no way the could possibly share then.

Hi. Sorry if this is somewhere in the thread... I went through many pages and didn't see it. Are there pics of the Little Mermaid rooms? I'd love to stay at AoA but have will just be three of us me and two DSs so don't needs suite and not sure sons will like LM rooms if the rooms are too much Ariel? Thanks!

It's $2 to wash and $20 to dry? At two cycles that's $40 for drying? OMG, I'll just carry my clothes home as they are and wash them at home. The money I save will go into my WDW bank for my next trip! :thumbsup2

Anyone know if they will sell sweatshirts?? That's what I like to buy..any idea??Thank you. I am just so excited..

its $20 to dry cause you have to run it through 10 cycles at $2.00 a cycle

How clever you are! That certainly puts things in perspective for us POP regulars.

:rotfl: sure feels that way! Best Typo of the Day Award!

LOL! I never even noticed I wrote that. But yeah, if you are washing jeans and want them dry...it just might take $20!

Sorry that was a major typo....$2 to dry! I'll go fix that.

Just came back from 12 days at Pop... We came out and asked the bus driver if Pop was sharing buses with AoA and he no that Disney just bought 60 new buses and AOA will have their own busses...
