Nemo will but Cars will not open until the 18th of June.

Great. Thanks. Will be in Orlando til June 24. Will go after the 16th top scope both hotels and snap photos, and shop. Are they close enough to park at one and see both by foot. Any word if either will have slide/playground for the kiddies (dry)?

Staying at AoA the week before Christmas, Little Mermaid section. Just me and my 6 year old. Can not wait, new hotel and first time at Christmas.

Someone needs to kick me in the shin or something:rotfl:
I have waffled between Bonnet Creek and AoA for months now. We have been firmly in the Bonnet Creek camp all week until 2 hours ago when dh said "I don't know... I'll miss extra magic hours...and the restaurants.... and the theming...and wouldn't it be nice to try a resort when it's brand new??!!

Um, you don't have to ask me twice husband.:rotfl:
It is more expensive and we were trying to keep this trip as economical as possible. We can do it though.
So AoA here we come.. again.:rotfl:

ETA) and my husband insisted that this be the last time we change our minds... so hopefully this is it.

I realize nobody can predict but does anyone worry about it being noisy in the rooms by the pool? I have a hard time sleeping but I am mostly ok with earplugs so it's not a big deal. I just wondered if Lion King might be a better choice for us.
Ds picked Nemo though and I'd really like to go with his choice because he was soooooo excited that he got to pick which room area we stayed in!!:)

Anyone know where the laundry facilities will be? I assume there will be some...hopefully near the bar... :drinking1

Also, anyone else excited by the pics of the arcade that are in some of the blog posts about AOA? My kids will be thrilled. And I might have to invest some cash in that Deal or No Deal machine.

Experts: How pricey are the arcades? And I notice a "100 point arcade credit" is included with our package - what will that get us? (It is Disney, so I'm assuming it will get us about a single life on PacMan.)

Laundry will be in the Poolhouse -- wedged in between the men and women change rooms ;)

It looked to me like there may also be some in the LM section. I couldn't tell for sure on the map because the icon was small, but I am pretty sure that's what it was.....

We went over to Pop on our last trip to take a look across the lake at AoA. My first impression was "WOW.. that is one huge resort!". However, it really didn't seem like the LM rooms were any further of a walk than the furthest Pop rooms from the main building.

It's hard to say until I actually get to walk around. Plus, I am so used to looking across that lake and seeing a few abandoned buildings, it may just seem larger to me because of that. But yes, my first thought was that it was giant. My second thought was "Wow.. please tell me they won't be sharing buses.":rotfl::rotfl:

we can hope. but disney will do what is best for disney. If both resorts are full I certainly hope not. but since all the epcot resorts share on non-busy times - don't know.

Agreed. Only time will tell. I can't imagine it with the sheer size of the two. But it makes no sense to me that the Epcot resorts all share one bus line so who knows?

Will AoA have coffee makers in the suites?
I thought I read they would, but I am not seeing them in any of the pictures. I really hope so.. I enjoy my morning coffee and I really don't enjoy Nescafe!

Nemo and Cars will be open by June 10th, right? And the two are walkable from one another??

All four sections can easily be walked to from each other and there is so many fun things to see and do along the way. There is a dry Nemo playground by the Sprayground and there is a very cool playground in the LK courtyard called the elephant Bone yard, too!

It's our first time for Christmas and in a new resort, also. Isn't it so exciting?

I think I'm right in saying that there is to be a laundry facility in each section.
I'm very excited about the arcade. I don't know why, but I love those old fashion 'pin ball machines' and I saw a photo with a pin ball in it!!! :yay:
Please, could someone tell me how to find these 'AoA Blogs? I can't read enough about AoA; I didn't even know that there were blogs out there to read about it. Thanks.

We worried about that too, so we requested a lakeview room, thinking they are at the back of the Nemo section and thus, farther from the pool. DS8 and DM stayed at Pop in April and their only complaint was it was very loud and they couldn't sleep so we are really hoping we get our request.

I don't think the noise from the pool will be that noticeable. Aren't the entry ways going to be inside?

You may find that more noise comes from the hallways. Runners, loud talkers/yellers, doors closing - it all sounds louder in an enclosed hallway.

Thanks everyone! I agree, I don't think it's going to be too bad but I am thinking of at least asking for Lakeview. And the interior hallways are going to require people to be somewhat courteous which we all know may or may not happen. Nothing much to be done about that.
We get up early but we at least try to be sleeping by 11pm so that's the only time I will really notice it.
Ear plugs are usually more than adequate for me:)

Yes, the nemo one will be open when your there.
a couple of pictures of it on this page

:thumbsup2 for the link ... hadn't read up much on AoA for a while so it was great seeing some of the photos. When I discovered the Standard Rooms were avail for our trip earlier this month, couldn't resist booking it for one night before we head over to POR even though we don't know what they look like ... but who can't resist a new hotel :goodvibes
