About getting to the lounge, we stayed concierage two weeks ago. You can also get up to the 6th floor by the 5th floor "gate". Its on the oppisite side from the elevators. Just insert your card kee and go up the stairs and the lounge is right there. Have a great time next year!

I am an elementary teacher and often have students connect their vacation to their senses. For example ... take your son down one of the trails at AKL or AK and ask him to stand still and listen ... What sounds did he hear? .... and stand and smell ... What did he smell? It is a fun way for the boys and girls to take "ordinary" events and look at them in a new way. I have my third graders complete an organizer and write a letter to our class about their experiences, but the greatest value comes from taking the time to notice all of the new things around us!

Hi,
We will be at AKL in a week. My ds's teachers just asked me to have him do some educational activities while we are there. Does anyone have any ideas on educational things we can do at AKL? My ds is only in kindergarten and has autism. He is quickly becoming an expert on animals, so I thought we could do some things at AK and AKL. Any ideas?
Thanks! :flower:

Great tip! Thanks. I know my ds is going to love AKL! :flower:

I posted this on the general resort board and didn't get any responses. I should've remembered to always check with the AKL experts first...

We are returning to AKL in September and taking the kids and grandkids. We would like adjoining rooms, ideally both with the Queen/Bunk beds. Anyone know if this option is available? Or do all Queen/Bunk rooms just connect to Queen/Queen rooms, or King rooms? Not sure what combinations are available.

Thanks!

i have a question- i'll be at the AKL for 6 nites- savannah room. my bro in law is coming in for our last 3 nites- he has a pool view. i called grand gatherings to link us. what exactly will this mean for the rooms. they said they keep you near each other but he's pool, i'm savannah. are there good savannah views near pool views??
any ideas on this -

I have a question too! Are the savannah view rooms with bunkbeds located in a particular area of the resort? I was thinking of requesting a bunkbed room for our next visit. Also, does anyone have a picture to share of a bunkbed room? Can't wait to go back to AKL in August!!
Thanks!!

...talk about "same" and "different". Compare things you see at home or in your neighborhood to things you'd see(or do) on vaca....

Where are all the AKL people these days??

I think the Bunk Bed Rooms are spread throughout the resort, you can find lots of really good pics on AllEarsnet.com.

Kala - Sorry I have been off the boards recently  The Queen/Bunk bedrooms are connected to either two queens or a king. At least that is what I was told when I ask on our last visit. I don't know if it will help or not but most of the King rooms have a day bed which is quite comfortable.

We will also be at AKL September/October. :cloud9: What are your dates? How wonderful that you are taking your kids and grandkids. That would be a perfect trip on my wish list. All the people you love with you in one of greatest and happiest places on earth. :grouphug:

Carri bear - The rooms with that configuration are all over the hotel. They come with all views and on all floors. The pictures on AllEars are pretty good.

Eddieres - I am sorry I can’t help you. I have no idea about the pool rooms. Is there anyone out there with information to help Eddieres?

Hope you all have a wonderful trip. :earboy2: Let me know if I can be of any further help.

We were in Room #5421 and #5381 and they BOTH had bunks! (Rm #5381 DID have a door for a connecting room....hope THIS helps!)

Angel,

We will be there Sept 17-24, and we can barely wait. Thanks so much for your help.

...in Rm 5381, the door was just past the refrig... :)

Hi Kala,

:sad2: We will arrive on September 24th for almost two weeks. We will just miss each other.

The King room we had was on the 5th floor. You went over the rope bridge and to the second building. I don't remember the room number  In our room the connecting door was just as you entered the room on the right. Almost acroos from the bathroom. We were told the connecting room had 2 queens and a day bed/sofa. Hope this helps.

We will be there May 30-June 4. Maybe we will see you at the pool? Do you have children?

We are arriving at the contemporary on May 26 thru June 1st and then we switch over to AKL. I'm SOOOO excited about AKL for my kids (12, 10, 6 girls and 1 1/2 boy). Does anyone know what types of activities they have during the day for the children? I would love to get an idea ahead of time.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at THE largest pool in disney!!
